Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 724: Chapter 501: An Unexpected Interruption

Seeing Chen Fusi, numerous thoughts arose in Zhou Yun’s heart.

After many days, seeing Chen Fusi again made Zhou Yun’s feelings towards him even more complex.

Such a person, with the power he holds, naturally has plenty of people willing to stay by his side.

Yet, he appeared as clear and bright as the wind and the moon, always showing up alone. Moreover, every time he spoke to her, his tone, though firm, was gentle, never making her feel uncomfortable. Zhou Yun had a complex impression of Chen Fusi.

Chen Fusi had explicitly expressed his fondness for her, but also made it clear that if his feelings were unrequited, they could just be friends.

And that’s just what he did.

Other than such coincidental public encounters, Chen Fusi had never privately asked her out again.

Zhou Yun appreciated this restraint and was thankful for it. Because if Chen Fusi really asked her to go out for a meal, she wouldn’t know whether to accept or decline.

If she accepted, she feared she couldn’t control her own emotions—she didn’t deny that Chen Fusi was an exceptional man, and the longer she knew him, the more she could feel his charm. Although she trusted her feelings for Song Chi, she didn’t want to take the risk.

If she declined, she was afraid it would seem like she cared too much about their relationship. Chen Fusi never overstepped boundaries; he never pestered her, nor did he do anything inappropriate like Wei Heyun did to Sitian. Among friends, if you can’t even share a meal, what kind of friendship is it? And to outright refuse friendship seemed too unkind.

Zhou Yun was incredibly conflicted.

One can imagine the turmoil in her heart upon seeing Chen Fusi again.

Zhou Yun wanted to speak to Chen Fusi and ask about the true nature of his involvement with Lizhou Cruise’s endorsement, but she never found the opportunity.

The senior management of Lizhou Cruise rotated in conversation with her, exchanging pleasantries and taking photos.

Finally, she found a moment and immediately walked towards Chen Fusi.

Chen Fusi, as if having anticipated her approach, held a glass of champagne and smiled at her.

”Mr. Chen, so this endorsement with Lizhou Cruise, is it because of your influence that it was offered to me?” Zhou Yun asked directly without any small talk.

Chen Fusi shook his head, ”No, don’t overthink it. Lizhou Cruise wants to expand into the Asian market, the biggest of which is China. You are currently the most popular celebrity, so Lizhou Cruise approached you for an endorsement, it has nothing to do with me.”

”But seeing you here makes me doubt that,” said Zhou Yun.

Chen Fusi replied, ”That’s also why I didn’t tell you before that I am also a shareholder of Lizhou Cruise, I was afraid you would overthink.”

”If you had mentioned it from the start, there wouldn’t be any issue.”

Chen Fusi said, ”Zhou Yun, we both know that if I had clarified this at the beginning, you would have declined the endorsement to avoid any semblance of impropriety.”

Zhou Yun smiled noncommittally.

Chen Fusi sighed softly and said, ”If you avoid certain brands because I have shares in them, you’d miss out on a huge opportunity. I tend to cast a wide net; I invest in businesses wherever money can be made, many times in places you wouldn’t expect. So, don’t miss out on numerous resources just because of me.”

Zhou Yun replied, ”I’m not that foolish.”

”Then that reassures me,” Chen Fusi said. ”Sometimes, I really worry when you get stubborn.”

Zhou Yun looked at Chen Fusi, somewhat astonished.

If she wasn’t being too sensitive, then his last remark seemed closer than usual, perhaps crossing a boundary?

Zhou Yun frowned slightly.

Chen Fusi raised his hands in a surrendering gesture, clearly realizing that he had misspoken.

”Alright, I have other matters to attend to, and won’t keep you longer. Regardless, becoming the spokesperson for Lizhou Cruise today is something to be pleased about,” said Chen Fusi. ”Work hard, this brand endorsement will bring you more opportunities.”

Zhou Yun couldn’t help but wonder.

Chen Fusi’s words seemed to hint at something.

As if there were more opportunities waiting for her.

But Zhou Yun didn’t have time to think it over, as she had to immediately return to China for filming after this event.

Song Chi had already started his work as a judge for the ’A Kind of Attention’ segment. During this period, Song Chi had no time to stay with Zhou Yun; judging was demanding, not only requiring watching and discussing films, supporting favorites, but also acting as an official representative at various events for promotion.
