Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 719: Chapter 499: Stealing Someone Away (Part 2)

After Venice, Zhou Yun realized that what Brian was doing was demonstrating the commanding presence of the host of the film festival, displaying a welcoming gesture.

She said, ”Thank you, Mr. Brian, I’m glad to be in Cannes.”

Brian nodded and said, ”Bring more of your works in the future. Cannes needs young stars like you.”

Zhou Yun replied, ”Alright, I’ll work hard to make more films and visit Cannes frequently.”

The two chatted for a while, and Brian, looking towards You Jiang, Zeng Lili, and Wang Jing, warmly said, ”Welcome.”

These two words were spoken in Chinese.

Clearly, Brian had done his homework.

Brian praised the film Behind the Scenes a few times, wishing them enjoyment of the film festival in Cannes before they entered the doors of the Cinema Palace.

Once inside, it was that familiar scene again.

Everyone was talking to someone else, exchanging pleasantries, and almost everyone was somewhat excited, even euphoric, some talking animatedly.

Zhou Yun saw many familiar faces, all notable figures in the world of cinema.

When she appeared, many eyes turned to look at her.

Many were evaluating her.

The look was no longer about ”who is this girl,” but more like ”here comes this girl!”

Shi Luoqi, standing next to Zhou Yun, said, ”See, you’ve become the center of their attention.”

Zhou Yun, maintaining a smile on her face, said, ”I don’t know why, but I feel a lot of pressure.”

Shi Luoqi laughed and said, ”Dear, this is your era. Everyone likes you, and the movies like you.”

Shi Luoqi was right.

At that moment, Song Chi appeared.

He was not in a wheelchair indoors but was using a cane, making it easier to move around the hall.

He walked up to Zhou Yun and, in front of everyone, bent down and kissed her on the lips.

A slight stir arose around them.

Some people even took photos.

Zhou Yun, surprised, widened her eyes and asked softly, ”What are you doing?”

Song Chi said, ”So many people are staring at you, I feel uncomfortable.”

Zhou Yun: ”...”

Song Chi: ”I need to declare my ownership.”

Zhou Yun: ”...you’re enough.”

Song Chi: ”You didn’t see how some people’s eyes were almost popping out. The movie Life has a greater impact in Europe than I thought. You don’t know how many people just now wanted me to introduce you to them.”

”Really?” Zhou Yun said, ”Is it that exaggerated?”

”Yes, of course,” Song Chi said, ”you’ll see in a moment.”

In fact, just as Song Chi said, a lot of people came to talk to Zhou Yun, all wanting to meet her.

Zhou Yun also met many cinema people from various countries.

The first sentence everyone said was basically: ”I really love Life.”

It was indeed surprising.

A producer from Germany said, ”When Life was released in Germany, I thought you would come to Germany for promotions. I even asked the distribution company when you would come, but they told me you didn’t have time. I was disappointed for a long time, but today I finally get to meet you in person.”

Zhou Yun, hearing this, felt somewhat embarrassed.

”Sorry, I have been busy filming with the crew and really didn’t have time,” she said, ”If I have time, I will definitely come for promotions.”

The German producer said, ”If there is a suitable opportunity, I would like to invite you to make a movie together, okay?”

Zhou Yun nodded, saying, ”Sure, as long as there’s a suitable script.”

The German producer nodded, ”Then it’s settled.”

In reality, there were quite a few producers and directors who spoke to Zhou Yun in this manner.

Zhou Yun also knew that the same words might have been said to every actor they met.

It was just polite conversation at such events.

However, many collaborations were indeed initiated in such settings.

Those who could come here were the most outstanding cinema people from various countries, a talent appreciating another talent, and if there were truly suitable opportunities, an agreement might be reached immediately.

Yet, Zhou Yun had not expected that the first person to really come and talk to her about collaboration would be Lucia, who she had just met yesterday.

Lucia said excitedly, ”Xiao Yun, you look beautiful today! Are you wearing VX?”

”Yes,” Zhou Yun nodded, also a bit surprised, not expecting to encounter Lucia.
