Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 713: Chapter 497: My Back Is Sore (Part 2)

”Mhm.” Zhou Yun smiled and nodded.

Cristina was very happy to hear that Song Chi agreed to go.

Zhou Yun couldn’t help but be curious, Song Chi often came abroad to attend film festivals, he must have known many foreign filmmakers, so why didn’t he seem to contact them usually?

After ending dinner, Zhou Yun and Song Chi went their separate ways, going to their own rooms. Zhou Yun lay on the bed, initially just wanting to rest a bit, but as soon as her head hit the pillow, a wave of sleepiness suddenly struck her and her eyelids felt as though they were filled with lead, impossible to open.

She fell asleep within seconds.

It felt like only a few seconds had passed when Zheng Xiaojue’s voice rang beside her ear.

”Sister Xiao Yun, Sister Xiao Yun.” Her voice was soft, like cotton candy.

Zhou Yun grunted.

”Let me sleep a little longer.”

”No, you need to get up,” Zheng Xiaojue said, ”It’s time to shoot.”

Zhou Yun finally found a bit of rationality. She had to bite down hard on her own teeth to force herself awake.

As she sat up, her eyes were bleary and lifeless, like a zombie, and the mouth of this zombie was still moving: ”I’m awake now.”

Zheng Xiaojue considerately handed her a cup of water, saying, ”Sister Xiao Yun, have some water.”

Zhou Yun drank some water and felt somewhat better.

”The shooting crew is already waiting for us downstairs, Cao Jun is with them, we should hurry down too,” Zheng Xiaojue said.

”Mhm, I know, just give me ten more seconds,” Zhou Yun said, ”My throat still feels a bit uncomfortable.”

Zheng Xiaojue: ”I bought you some throat lozenges.”

Zhou Yun looked at Zheng Xiaojue somewhat surprised and said, ”How are you so thoughtful.”

Zheng Xiaojue said, ”I see that your throat is almost hoarse.”

She will have to talk a lot during the upcoming shooting. Zheng Xiaojue thought about how uncomfortable Zhou Yun’s throat must be.

Zhou Yun gave Zheng Xiaojue a slight smile and said, ”Xiaoju, it’s so good to have you here, I can’t do without you now.”

Zheng Xiaojue: ”Sister Xiao Yun, stop dawdling, hurry up, wash up, and come downstairs!”

Zhou Yun: ”...”

So fierce.

Embarrassed to keep people waiting, Zhou Yun quickly got dressed and put on light makeup before heading downstairs.

The shoot ended smoothly at 9:40, and Zhou Yun breathed a sigh of relief.

Time to go back and sleep well, but by then Zhou Yun could hardly feel sleepy anymore.

Walking on the street, she was surrounded by foreigners whose appearances and builds were notably different from hers, a feeling very similar to the last time in Venice.

Zhou Lan was waiting for her at the hotel entrance.

”Sister Lan, why are you waiting for me here?” Zhou Yun asked, surprised.

”I asked Xiaoju, knew you had finished shooting, and I just came back from outside, so I waited for a while for you,” Zhou Lan said. ”You worked hard today.”

”Today was really tough, I need to hurry back to the hotel to sleep,” said Zhou Yun.

Tomorrow there are many interviews, and in the evening there’s the red carpet to attend.

A tough battle ahead.

Zhou Lan: ”Get some rest now.”

Zhou Yun returned to her room, took a bath, and saw a message from Song Chi on her phone from five minutes ago: Have you finished shooting?

Zhou Yun: Finished, just took a bath, what about you? Back yet?

Song Chi: Back, just arrived at the hotel.

His reply was slower than usual, probably because he could only type with one hand.

Zhou Yun: Mhm.

She dressed in pajamas and sat on the sofa. After a while, there was a sound at the door, and Zhang Cong pushed in Song Chi, who was in a wheelchair.

”Sister Xiao Yun, I’ve brought Brother Chi back.”

Zhou Yun walked over and looked at Song Chi’s face, curious, she asked, ”Didn’t drink?”

Song Chi said, ”Didn’t feel like it.”

Zhou Yun could tell that Song Chi’s expression wasn’t very good.

She couldn’t help but look towards Zhang Cong.

But Zhang Cong showed the same clueless expression, not knowing what had happened.

After Zhang Cong left, Zhou Yun asked, ”You don’t seem to be in a good mood, what happened? Did something happen?”

Song Chi shook his head and said, ”Met a very annoying person, he said some annoying things, made me a bit upset.”

”Who? So annoying,” Zhou Yun asked.

Song Chi: ”An American-Chinese actor, his Chinese name is Qiao Anshan, you might not know him, not very famous.”

Zhou Yun asked, ”Why is he annoying?”

”It’s hard to say, he just really likes to consider himself American, then indirectly said our film development is far behind others, sarcastically saying that we Chinese-language film actors are like ’monkeys calling themselves king where there are no tigers’, and if placed in the genius-filled Hollywood, competition would be ten times fiercer.”
