Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 729: Chapter 502: Imposing and Magnificent (Part 3)

Everyone was dressed very splendidly.

Song Chi had already entered the venue ahead of time, while Zhou Yun took Zeng Lili and Wang Jing by the hands, saying, ”Let’s all walk the red carpet together later.”

”Alright.”

Both sides of the red carpet were media zones, so they would need to stop every few steps to face the cameras and pose for a while, then turn in another direction for the photographers on the other side.

Just then, another car rolled up and stopped.

All the guests had already disembarked and were to enter soon.

According to the original plan, it was almost time for Zhou Yun and her group to step onto the red carpet after the previous two groups of guests.

Who could be arriving at this time?

Zhou Yun’s group was in the perfect position to see the car.

The door opened, and a figure with a slightly unsteady gait disembarked.

An elderly person?

At that moment, a young man got out of the other side of the car, walked around, and took the elderly person’s arm.

Zhou Yun’s eyes widened involuntarily, and she instinctively turned to look at Xue Qin.

Xue Qin was also looking at the two people, expressionless, revealing no emotions whatsoever.

”Is that... Director Jiang He?” You Jiang asked with a tone tinged with surprise.

Indeed, it was Director Jiang He, along with his son, Jiang Haitian.

Zhou Yun was astonished.

If she weren’t aware of the relationship between Xue Qin and Jiang Haitian, perhaps she would have shared You Jiang’s elation.

Director Jiang He, as a top director of Chinese-language films, has quite a following internationally.

His sudden appearance today, with no prior notice, gave everyone a tremendous surprise.

But Zhou Yun thought that for Xue Qin, the shock might be greater than the joy.

”Why has Jiang He come?” Shi Luoqi muttered to himself.

Hearing this, Zhou Yun was somewhat surprised. She had thought that Shi Luoqi had invited Jiang He. If it wasn’t Shi Luoqi, then how did Jiang He come to be here?

It was at this moment that Zhou Yun saw Mr. Brian, who had somehow made his way over again, approach Jiang He voluntarily, shake his hand, take his arm, and lead him towards them.

”Luo Qi, the great Director Jiang He from the world of Chinese-language films is here,” Brian said with an exaggerated tone, ”He’s one of the directors I admire the most in all of Chinese-language cinema.”

Shi Luoqi smiled, reached out to shake hands with Jiang He, and said, ”Director Jiang, we meet again. It’s an honor to have you here to support our film today.”

As Zhou Yun observed Shi Luoqi’s manner, she couldn’t determine for a moment whether Shi Luoqi was aware of the relationship between Jiang He and Xue Qin.

Zhou Yun thought to herself, did Jiang He come out today to support his daughter’s work?

She felt it was very likely so.

Only, Xue Qin herself might not appreciate the gesture.

Jiang Haitian’s gaze swept across her face, and she instinctively averted her eyes.

Whatever the future held for the relationship between Jiang He and Xue Qin, it had nothing to do with her.

Zhou Yun had no interest in getting involved in other people’s lives, especially not such melodramatic ones.

Mr. Brian personally accompanied Jiang He onto the red carpet. Initially, no one recognized the elderly man, until journalists from China suddenly realized who he was and started snapping away frantically with their cameras. Foreign reporters also began to recognize him through the buzz of ongoing conversations.

Jiang He’s war films were well-known internationally, and even to this day, he had many fans around the world.

Jiang He’s presence was an unexpected delight; he hadn’t been active in public for a long time, and nobody had anticipated that he would appear on this red carpet today.

Finally, the crew of ”Behind the Scenes” made their final, stunning entrance.

Zhou Yun, leading the cast, returned to Cannes like a young queen. When she waved, her presence commanded the scene, as though she was on her home ground.

At every photography point, she made sure to embrace Zeng Lili and Wang Jing, capturing every group photo possible.

She hardly took any solo shots.

Her charm radiated outwards; whether she glanced back or posed, a grace suffused the air with every gesture she made.

Many voices were calling out her name.

Many pronunciations weren’t quite right, but they were fervent and intense, as if filled with enthusiasm.

As Zhou Yun made her way through, flashbulbs twinkled like stars, a splendid display, a surge of adulation, the pinnacle of times.

Standing on the stairs, she was surrounded by the crowd.

She waved, blowing a kiss to everyone present.

Even Shi Luoqi, standing aside, had a voice within whispering softly: The era belonging to Zhou Yun had just begun a bold and vivid Chapter.
