Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 737: Chapter 505: Goddess Returns Home (Part 2)

”Yes, among the actresses of the same generation as hers, it’s really a pity, thinking back on how Su Yan and Lew Qingqing competed with so many others, and only they ended up being elected. Now, not only have they been far surpassed by Ning Yao, but even Zhou Yun has left them behind.”

”Wei Ru Xue just won the best lead actress award at the Naoki Prize, yet up to now, Su Yan and Lew Qingqing have not won any significant awards.”

”You can’t really say that, ’Heart Inquiry’ is very popular, Su Yan is still very famous.”

”Famous she is, but who can blame her if her acting skills are not as good.”

...

Such discussions were taking place in many corners of this circle.

For Zhou Yun, there was much envy, jealousy, and hatred.

The film ’Life’ made Zhou Yun a star, and the film ’Behind the Scenes’ was a landmark for Chinese-language films in recent years.

Zhou Yun seemed to be blessed by the god of cinema, everything working out smoothly for her.

The awards received by ’Behind the Scenes’ had everyone in the Chinese-language cinema circle paying attention.

...

After ’Behind the Scenes’ won the awards, everyone in the crew was ecstatic.

After Xue Qin went onstage to accept the award and made a speech, people took pictures to capture the beautiful moment.

Naturally, many media and reporters wanted to interview them.

At that moment, their emotions were also exceptionally high, willing to accept interviews, willing to share such feelings.

The glorious moment, the awards won by a movie, was the glory of all the creators involved.

During an interview, Xue Qin said: ”Although in this movie, directors and actors are opposites, this film wouldn’t have been possible without the support of Zhou Yun, and teachers Zeng Lili, You Jiang, Wang Jing, and all the participating actors. This was a very risky filming, and when I proposed this idea, I had actually prepared myself for rejection, but I got the support of my producer Luo Qi. Sister Luo Qi really is the biggest force behind this film; without her, this film absolutely could not have been made. Also, I am shocked that even Zhou Yun and others supported the filming. You must know that they are very famous and popular actors domestically. They took on a great risk with me; if the film didn’t turn out well, it could have been a terrible blow for them, yet they still came forward to help me. For me, maybe in the future, I will still shoot many movies, collaborate with more film people, but this movie will occupy a very special place in my life.”

When Xue Qin was being interviewed, Zhou Yun sat by her side.

Hearing what Xue Qin said, Zhou Yun knew that Xue Qin was truly moved.

Zhou Yun also felt particularly proud of Xue Qin.

A Chinese reporter asked: ”Zhou Yun, when you decided to collaborate with Director Xue Qin, she hadn’t directed any movies beforehand. Why did you choose to take a risk with a newcomer director when your career was at its best moment?”

Zhou Yun smiled.

She said, ”Actually, you should ask Teacher You Jiang and Teacher Zeng Lili that question. Both of them are actors who have built their reputation for decades. If they are willing to take such a risk, not to mention me, I am a young actress. I’ve never acted in movies just for the success of the film. To decide whether to take a role or not, I look at whether I have chemistry with the director, whether the script attracts me, and whether it suits me. As for risks, what kind of movie-making doesn’t involve risks? There are always risks of failure, even with the best directors. Judgment of success or failure by market standards is never 100% guaranteed.”

”The reporter asked again, wasn’t there any other more experienced director offering you roles at the time?”

Zhou Yun said, ”At that time, there was no other script more appealing than ’Falling Leaves’—when I accepted ’Falling Leaves,’ ’Life’ had not yet been released, and people still had doubts about my ability to act in films. I am very thankful to Xue Qin for entrusting such a film with many opportunities for personal expression to a then-unsuccessful actress.”

After finishing the interview with the reporter, Zhou Yun and everyone else headed to a party.

Song Chi arrived before them, and when they arrived, Song Chi came up to her, smiling and saying, ”Congratulations.”

Zhou Yun smiled back and replied, ”Thank you.”
