Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 714: Chapter 497: My Back Is Sore

Zhou Yun immediately understood why Song Chi would be angry.

Even just hearing Song Chi retell it made her blood boil.

”No wonder you’re so angry, if it were me, I would’ve cursed him out on the spot,” said Zhou Yun. ”Sour grapes, if he’s got the guts, let him try his hand in our acting circle, and see how well he does.”

Song Chi said, ”He’s been making grand statements, and a lot of domestic film companies have thrown him invitations, offering big money for him to act, all of which he declined.”

Zhou Yun let out a surprised ”Huh,” and asked, ”So, our domestic companies really sent him that many invites?”

”How could that be,” said Song Chi. ”Maybe ten years ago, but now, before employing an actor, companies would wish they could dig through eighteen generations of their ancestors, just scared that after the film wraps, the actor might cause trouble, and ruin the entire film. For an unknown American-Chinese like him, unless it’s a task-based film that needs such a background actor, no company would want to use him.”

Zhou Yun said, ”That’s what I thought.”

”This guy, I really look down upon him. It’s his own business how he wants to be, but to show off his superiority by putting others down is really speechless,” Song Chi said.

Zhou Yun asked, ”Is he jealous that you’ve become a juror for ’A Certain Attention’?”

”Yep,” Song Chi nodded. ”That’s pretty much it. He said that the chairperson considered my influence in China, and that’s why they chose me, otherwise it wouldn’t be my turn. There are too many actors out there more famous and talented than me.”

Zhou Yun rolled her eyes, feeling irate.

Song Chi smiled, ”I’m almost over it myself, you shouldn’t hang on to these feelings either. Anyway, when we see him later, just ignore him.”

”Okay.”

Because Song Chi had a fracture, Zhou Yun, fearing that she wouldn’t sleep quietly, decided to sleep in separate beds from Song Chi.

She really slept deeply and soundly, entering a state of utter oblivion. Waking up refreshed, feeling limp and wanting to linger in bed a little longer.

She lay in bed in a daze for ten minutes, yawned, then sat up.

There was still an hour left before her appointment with Zhou Lan and Zheng Xiaojue.

In an hour, it would be the start of a busy and groundless work schedule.

Zhou Yun stretched her limbs and walked towards Song Chi’s room.

Song Chi was already awake, sitting by the window alone, seemingly pondering something, his gaze vacant.

”You got up so early!” Zhou Yun exclaimed in surprise.

Song Chi came back to his senses, turned his head to glance at her, and with a smile, asked, ”Just woke up?”

”Yeah.” Zhou Yun nodded. ”And you?”

”Woke up half an hour ago,” Song Chi said. ”I was thinking, I should still film more art movies every year.”

”Oh? Why the sudden thought?” asked Zhou Yun.

”Before, I always felt like I had reached my limits at this age, unlikely to make any more breakthroughs. But now, I was thinking, whether or not I can break through is one thing. If I can help more Chinese-language films reach the world, that would be a good thing too, something I want to do.”

”So strong sense of duty early in the morning?” Zhou Yun was shocked.

Song Chi said, ”Probably stimulated by that idiotic dog.”

A disdainful look flashed across his eyes.

”But, you do film a lot of art movies as is,” Zhou Yun said. ”If it weren’t for the sudden car accident, your ’Balcony’ was almost done filming.”

Song Chi said, ”Besides acting, I should also produce, find suitable directors and scripts, and push the production of art movies. Along with films that make money, I also need to make films that have artistic value.”

”Yeah,” Zhou Yun said. ”Leave a role for me every year when that time comes.”

”Xiao Yun.”

”Yeah?”

”You support me without me having to say anything.”

”It’s not that I support everything, it’s just that this time, what you’re saying, I happen to have the same thoughts,” Zhou Yun said with a smile. ”But let’s not talk about this for now, we need to go have some breakfast, shall we order room service from the hotel?”

Song Chi nodded, agreeing.

Zhou Yun went to call for room service.

Song Chi watched Zhou Yun’s figure, graceful and supple in the sunlight’s glow, like a ripe peach.

When Zhou Yun finished the call and came over, she asked him, ”Shall we go to the restaurant outside?”

Suddenly, Song Chi said, ”Could you come here for a moment?”

Zhou Yun was startled, ”Huh?”

”Come here, a bit closer, I want to kiss you first,” Song Chi said.

Zhou Yun was speechless, her cheeks flushing hot.

But she still did as Song Chi requested, leaned in, bent over, and inclined her body toward him.

She didn’t wait for Song Chi to kiss her; she took the initiative and pressed her lips to his.

Then, they didn’t part for a long time.

Zhou Yun felt her waist ache from the position.
