Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 728: Chapter 502: Bold and Vivid (Part 2)

Zhou Yun couldn’t help but feel a little surprised.

Indeed, it was very well written, an area she had never considered before.

Back in Cannes, wearing sunglasses, Zhou Yun felt a bit excited.

Tomorrow would be the world premiere of ”Behind the Scenes,” and it was time for the real test.

Zhou Yun’s feelings for this movie were very complex; on one hand, she hoped it would do well, yet on the other, she dared not hold such hopes. The feeling was like having made a handicraft on a whim, only for it to unexpectedly become a finalist in a global craftsmanship contest one day. You’d feel excited but also surreal, reluctant to harbor expectations. In the end, Zhou Yun felt she hadn’t put as much effort into this movie as she had with others, like ”Four Killers,” which she was currently filming. Before joining the cast, she had begun action training, and during filming, she exhausted herself daily, leaving her battered and bruised. These experiences allowed her to truly feel the effort she had invested.

During the filming of ”Behind the Scenes,” every day was immensely satisfying for Zhou Yun—both the shooting process and her performance brought her an impromptu thrill.

But the thing about improvisation is that while you might enjoy it yourself, you still dare not set your expectations too high.

Zhou Yun returned to the hotel and met up with Xue Qin and the others.

Over these four days, You Jiang, Zeng Lili, and Wang Jing, representing the ”Behind the Scenes” crew, had to attend at least three public events each day.

Eventually, Zeng Lili ran out of clothes she brought herself; after all, she couldn’t rotate a few sets of formal gowns like You Jiang, whose suits appeared quite similar. If Zeng Lili wore a dress she had worn before, not to mention anything else, the foreign media would privately joke about whether she was borrowing clothes.

Fortunately, Shi Luoqi, who knew many people, promptly pulled together a selection of gowns for Zeng Lili to choose from.

Zhou Lan had prepared Wang Jing quite adequately; borrowing dresses from various brands went smoothly for her.

Zhou Yun met up with everyone once again.

”Tomorrow is our own premiere,” Shi Luoqi raised her glass and said, ”I wish ’Behind the Scenes’ all the best.”

Everyone raised their glasses in unison.

Shi Luoqi was in an excellent state, and anyone who saw her would say so.

She said, ”At tomorrow’s premiere, both Brian and Chairman Baden will be there. I’ve invited some friends too, but unfortunately, there aren’t as many cinema people from our own country attending this time, unlike when Xiao Yun was in Venice, where many cinema people from Chinese-language films were present.”

You Jiang said, ”We’ll strive to have more in the future.”

Shi Luoqi, with a smile, said, ”For that to happen, Mr. Jiang needs to act more, and not be too precious about coming out of seclusion. I’ve heard many young actors say how they would love to employ you, but are afraid to make the invitation.”

You Jiang replied generously, ”Just let them send their scripts over. My requirements aren’t that high; as long as there are roles worth acting, and it’s not some utterly hopeless project, I’m always supportive of new directors.”

”With these words from you, I know what to tell them,” Shi Luoqi laughed, ”Playing in ’Falling Leaves’ this time, we unexpectedly made ’Behind the Scenes,’ and after many years, we’ve once again witnessed the masterful acting of the two teachers. Fantastic.”

Zeng Lili let out a sigh, saying, ”We’re all getting old, and no one pays attention even if our acting is exquisite.”

”How could that be?” Zhou Yun said, ”Believe me, now is the springtime for good actors, as everyone is paying more attention to acting, and it’s nothing to do with age.”

Zeng Lili pursed her lips and smiled.

Shi Luoqi said, ”I’m going to shift my work focus back to the country, and hopefully, when the time comes, I can continue to collaborate with everyone on suitable projects.”

Everyone chatted and laughed.

The day of the premiere for ”Behind the Scenes” arrived.

The day had been well planned out, and Song Chi was also going to attend the screening.

Not only that, but Song Chi also brought along two jurors from the ”A Certain Attention” section.

”Behind the Scenes” premiere wasn’t very lively; being neither famous directors nor famous actors (to the world cinema, Zhou Yun was a rising star who had just gained attention, far from being a household name), the media’s interest in Chinese-language films wasn’t that great either.

Still, the scene was star-studded.

With her personal connections, Shi Luoqi invited two popular Hollywood celebrities and one national treasure French actress.

Their walk on the red carpet excited all the photographers.

Zhou Yun and the others backstage were also somewhat excited, as today’s red carpet was their home ground.
