Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 745: Chapter 508: The Great Wind Rises

Many people might think that being a celebrity is a joyful job, constantly in the spotlight and earning a handsome income.

But Zhou Yun really wants to say that frequently giving interviews is truly painful.

This pain originates from the fact that everyone asks similar questions, and Zhou Yun needs to constantly repeat her responses.

This repetition is a huge drain.

Repetition is a drain for anyone.

Humans prefer novelty.

Zhou Yun is no exception.

However, after dealing with different media outlets, Zhou Yun found that each has its own style.

For example, ”Victor,” as a fashion magazine, mainly features Wan Lanlan who interviews her about fashion, clothing, and some everyday life topics, of course, still closely related to ”Behind the Scenes.”

”When you’re on set, what is your main attire?” Wan Lanlan asks with technical precision, sticking to promoting ”Behind the Scenes,” yet tailoring the question to meet the preferences of ”Victor’s” readers.

Zhou Yun responds: ”On set, I prioritize comfort, but since I’m acting as a director in ’Behind the Scenes,’ I emulate the attire that Director Xue Qin usually wears on set to get into character. Being a director on set is very tiring, so the focus is usually on wearing comfortable clothes—sneakers, loose soft clothing, and always tying up my hair, with minimal makeup as there simply isn’t the energy for it.”

”Doesn’t that mean you don’t tidy up at all?” Wan Lanlan asks surprised, ”I can’t quite imagine how you, a top female celebrity, could disregard your image completely.”

”Of course, I don’t completely neglect myself, it’s just not as refined as usual. For instance, like you at home, Sister Lanlan,” Zhou Yun explains, ”You’re at home, but your husband is there too, so you dress comfortably yet not too slovenly. That’s what I mean.”

Wan Lanlan laughs, ”Ah, I see, I understand.”

This is the style of Wan Lanlan’s interviews.

But when it comes to ”Cinema People” magazine, it gets much more professional.

”Cinema People” would ask her more specifically about her understanding of the movie, the character, her views on Director Xue Qin, evaluations of fellow actors, opinions on choosing scripts, and her thoughts on the current film environment and market.

Zhou Yun has pondered and reflected a lot.

June isn’t a peak season for the movie market.

Most competitive movies usually arrange their release during the summer months of July and August.

”Behind the Scenes” knows it’s not a competitor to those big commercial productions, so it never considered competing for a summer release.

Scheduling it for June, on one hand, was because the buzz of the Cannes Film Festival hadn’t fully subsided, using the award-winning momentum to attract audiences. On the other hand, there weren’t other major movies to compete with at this time. Leveraging Zhou Yun’s box-office appeal from ”Life,” they could negotiate more screenings with cinema managers.

Shi Luoqi suggested that Zhou Yun attend more road shows.

Zhou Yun had just finished shooting ”Four Killers” and had some free time in between, which was convenient for coordinating schedules, and they locked down some dates.

After discussing with Zhou Lan, Zhou Yun took Wang Jing to shoot covers for two fashion magazines—a very important resource and opportunity for Wang Jing.

Even Gu Huaichun joked: ”You are really too good to Wang Jing; aren’t you afraid that after promoting her, she might bite back? After all, the money she earns doesn’t end up in your pocket.”

Zhou Yun laughs and waves it off, indicating she doesn’t mind.

She is willing to help Wang Jing because she sees her as a junior worth helping.

Frankly, if Xu Siyao had performed half as well as Wang Jing, Zhou Yun wouldn’t have hesitated to lend a hand.

Firstly, Wang Jing is a very sensible person. She absolutely doesn’t act out in front of Zhou Yun, unlike Xu Siyao, who constantly called her ”Sister Xiao Yun” and repeatedly left messages and interacted with her on social media without Zhou Yun’s knowledge, creating a false impression of a close relationship. Zhou Yun detests this kind of imposed familiarity.

Second, Wang Jing is very grounded and hardworking. With the support and care from the resources of Zhou Yun, Zhou Lan, and Chengqian, Wang Jing actually possesses dreamlike resources that most newcomers wouldn’t even dare to imagine. This type of spoon-fed resources could easily make someone conceited. However, although Xu Siyao became an instant hit with ”Eighth Heartbeat,” not only did she offend Zhou Yun over many matters, she also offended many others elsewhere. Zhou Yun has never heard any rumors of Wang Jing acting pretentious or losing her temper. When filming with Gu Huaichun, he praised her diligence, and during the filming of ”Behind the Scenes,” Zeng Lili and You Jiang spoke highly of her, especially Zeng Lili, who emphasized her fondness for Wang Jing at Cannes.
