Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 742: Chapter 507

Zhou Yun said, ”You have to keep going too. You were the one who had the highest demands for acting back then, and you even looked down on me.”

Gu Huaichun’s face showed a trace of bitter smile as he said, ”Thinking back now, I was really naive.”

”Don’t give up,” Zhou Yun said. ”We aim for endurance and perseverance.”

Gu Huaichun smiled, nodded, and said, ”I will take acting seriously and not slack off.”

”I of course know that you won’t relax your demands on yourself. Keep it up, you will definitely find a script that you’ve been dreaming of someday.”

Gu Huaichun shook his head, ”At least for the next few years, it’s no use waiting. Yuehai won’t let me act.”

Zhou Yun said, ”Don’t always be so pessimistic.”

”You’re not at Yuehai, you don’t know their way of doing things.”

Zhou Yun indeed felt surprised. After all, the current industry environment still places a lot of value on the worth of celebrities. Even if Yuehai was strict with celebrities, they should still respect someone like Gu Huaichun who had become a big hit. But after several conversations with Gu Huaichun, the impression Zhou Yun got was that Yuehai didn’t show him much respect.

After dinner, Zhou Yun went home with Song Chi.

The next morning, Zhou Yun had to return to the set to continue shooting ”Four Killers.”

Upon returning to the set, Zhou Yun was surprised to find that the crew had put up a banner for her, congratulating Zhou Yun on her prestigious return from Cannes.

Honestly, Zhou Yun felt a bit awkward seeing this banner.

She really disliked this banner-like welcome.

Moreover, the key point was that she wasn’t that familiar with the crew of ”Four Killers,” so their congratulations didn’t allow her to share her joy with them.

She should focus on finishing shooting the film. This was Zhou Yun’s most sincere thought; she really wanted to wrap up the filming as soon as possible.

Although she took many days off, it didn’t affect Zhou Yun’s acting. She quickly got into the swing of things.

Fight scenes were still fought to their fullest, without any compromise.

Everyone on set was somewhat surprised, finding it unbelievable.

To most people, winning an award would inevitably come with a sense of pride and elation that is hard to hide, even if one tries to show humility vocally and in their demeanor.

But Zhou Yun acted as if she didn’t care about winning the award in Cannes at all.

Everything was as usual, with no change from before she left the set.

In truth, Zhou Yun was aware that she felt proud and happy, but she was accustomed to not displaying these emotions.

She wasn’t used to showing such feelings, which, although not boasting, might give the impression of showing off.

During a break from shooting, He Xuran suddenly came to find her.

”Do you have some time? I’d like to talk to you,” He Xuran said with a smile.

Zhou Yun looked at him with some surprise and asked, ”What’s the matter?”

He Xuran said, ”It’s not very convenient to talk here, how about we find a quieter place?”

The two of them were standing on the edge of the set, with people coming and going around them. Indeed, it wasn’t an ideal spot for conversation.

But Zhou Yun didn’t want to go to a secluded place with him alone; such an action would seem to imply some kind of intimate relationship between them.

Zhou Yun knew what He Xuran had done before, and she was even less willing to get entangled in a vaguely-defined relationship with him.

”Is there something you can’t say here?” Zhou Yun asked directly.

After pondering for a moment, He Xuran nodded and said, ”I suppose we can talk here. It’s like this: I’m working on a film, a very top-tier big production. I’m wondering if you might be interested?”

Zhou Yun looked at him curiously.

”A top-tier big production? It depends on how top-tier it is,” she said candidly.

He Xuran said, ”Well, the film’s budget exceeds 500 million, and the box-office goal is to aim upwards of 3 billion.”

Having said that, He Xuran looked intently at Zhou Yun, as if he was confident that after hearing about the project, she would definitely want to participate.

Zhou Yun shook her head and said, ”Even though I’m interested in such big productions, the shooting period will definitely be very long. I’ve already taken on many roles for the next two years; I don’t think I’ll have the scheduling availability to act in this film.”

She showed an expression of helplessness and regret.

He Xuran looked at her in surprise, seemingly not expecting Zhou Yun to reject the offer outright.

He asked, ”Don’t you want to act in it? Aren’t you interested?”
