Promote the drama, and promote the people.

That’s for later.

Zhou Yun is about to set off for the Cannes Film Festival.

Today, Zhou Lan hurried to the set to discuss the schedule for Cannes with her.

”Our ’Behind the Scenes’ is scheduled for screening on the seventh day. I’ve communicated with the crew, and we will leave one day in advance, fly to Cannes, attend the opening red carpet, accept interviews from two media outlets, then return to continue filming. The day before ’Behind the Scenes’ screens, we’ll go back for the premiere of our film,” Zhou Lan said. ”In total, it’s a six-day itinerary, for which we’ll need to request six days off from the crew. Fortunately, you’ve finished two-thirds of your scenes, so it should be possible to arrange.”

”Okay,” Zhou Yun nodded. ”Six days of activities, which practically means two events only: an opening ceremony and a film premiere.”

”Not just that,” Zhou Lan shook her head. ”On our way to Cannes, I’ve secured a collaboration for you with ’Victor.’ They want to shoot a short interview video of you departing, in cooperation with Jinling Jewelry. At that time, an editor from ’Victor’ will come here to join us in the car ride to the airport; the work will be done in the car.”

Zhou Yun’s eyes widened in shock, asking, ”Can it be done like this?”

”No choice, there are too many wanting to collaborate with us, so I have to make the best use of time,” Zhou Lan said. ”Before the opening red carpet, there are interviews with thirteen media outlets. I’ve given each of them half an hour, nearly seven hours combined. This means that as soon as you land, after a brief tidy up, you’ll have to start working incessantly because this time you’re representing a film. And ’Behind the Scenes’ is the only Chinese-language film in the main competition. I’ve accepted interviews from all the slightly famous domestic media.”

Zhou Yun inhaled sharply, ”My goodness.”

Zhou Lan continued, ”Besides the interviews with the thirteen media outlets, there’s a Blink lunch you will attend with Song Chi. Both of you are Blink’s ambassadors. Other than you two, some ambassadors from other countries and regions as well as some collaborative partners, including Wang Jing, will also participate.”

”Got it,” Zhou Yun nodded. ”Anything else?”

”Of course, there’s more. What I just mentioned was all before the opening ceremony. After the opening is over, Lizhou Cruise will hold a media event announcing you as their ambassador for the Asian Region,” Zhou Yun explained. ”Then, Shi Luoqi is planning an event for Chinese cinema people. It was originally set for the evening, but since you have to catch a plane that night to return home, I’m communicating with her to move the event to the afternoon, right after the Lizhou Cruise event. After attending this, your first cycle of work is finished.”

Zhou Yun covered her forehead with one hand, exclaiming, ”Someone come save me!”

Zhou Lan said, ”After you come back, you’ll film for three days, then leave again for Cannes, to attend the premiere of ’Behind the Scenes.’ After the premiere, there is a cinema people exchange event organized by Cannes officials. Once this event is attended, we’ll fly back and continue filming. If we receive notice to participate in the closing ceremony, we will head back.”

Zhou Yun nodded in agreement, ”Okay.”

”The schedule is so rushed,” she remarked.

Zhou Lan replied, ”No choice, when participating in international film festivals like Cannes, which have such high attention, nobody wants to miss the opportunity.”

Zhou Yun asked, ”When can ’Four Killers’ be finished? I feel like it’s been filming for so long.”

”It’s not actually that long, just a month. It feels long to you just because you haven’t been very happy filming this movie,” Zhou Lan stated.

Zhou Yun felt Zhou Lan’s words were painfully accurate.

”Did Song Chi tell you?” Zhou Lan suddenly asked, ”His production ’Balcony,’ unfortunately, has decided to recast and reshoot. He’s still the producer but no longer the lead actor.”

Zhou Yun was somewhat surprised; she hadn’t heard about this from Song Chi.

”Who will take over?” he asked.

Zhou Lan replied, ”Chen Jing.”

”Chen Jing?” Zhou Yun was surprised, ”Was it Sister Ning Yao’s recommendation?”

Zhou Lan nodded and said, ”Because ’Balcony’ was originally a low-budget art film. The director initially wanted to wait for Song Chi, but Song Chi thought it would be better to recast and reshoot as he has taken on other roles. If ’Balcony’ waited for him, it might not happen until next year.”
