I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 493: Chapter 492: Who Is Your Big Brother?

Wei Zhongxun saw a delicate and charming girl standing at the door, looking confused and adorable, and he instinctively said, ”You’ve come to the right place!”

Tian Zhi couldn’t help but roll his eyes at him. Do you know her? Why just say she’s in the right place!

The unfamiliar voice interrupted Wei Zhongyuan’s thoughts, making him open his eyes and he too was taken aback to see the girl at the door.

”Excuse me, is this Beisitian’s home?” the girl asked.

The girl was Zheng Lulu. She came to Beijing and immediately sought out Beisitian, but what surprised her was finding three men upon opening the door. She knew Beisitian didn’t really know anyone in Beijing, hence her confusion.

”Are you here to see my master?” Tian Zhi couldn’t help but ask.

”Your master?” Zheng Lulu opened her mouth and, seeing he wasn’t joking, said in surprise, ”You must be learning Chinese medicine from Sister Sitian, right?”

Tian Zhi nodded; that was indeed the case.

”Me too!” Wei Zhongxun quickly stepped forward.

Tian Zhi shot him a glance. Big brother is very eager today, could it be because he saw a pretty girl?

Zheng Lulu smiled at Wei Zhongxun, making him look smitten, ”So I’m in the right place. I’m here to find Sister Sitian.”

Saying this, she walked inside.

Wei Zhongxun quickly walked to her side, saying, ”My master is resting inside. Why don’t you wait here for a while, and I’ll chat with you until my master wakes up, and then take you in?”

Tian Zhi snorted twice inwardly. While flirting, he didn’t forget that the master is sleeping, not a waste of teaching!

Ever since apprenticing, Tian Zhi never called her cousin again; that’s the rule.

Upon hearing Beisitian was asleep, Zheng Lulu stopped, walked to the stone table, found a place to sit and said, ”You might be tricking me, Sister Sitian should just be off work, why would she be sleeping now?”

Though she said this doubtfully, she half believed it, because if Beisitian were awake, she’d surely be out by now.

”My master works hard and it’s only natural to sleep at home. Sister, what’s your name?” Wei Zhongxun said with a smile.

Zheng Lulu turned her head after sitting down and realized there was someone next to her, she turned to look and saw Wei Zhongyuan’s handsome profile, stunned before turning her gaze away.

”You’re a smooth talker, don’t talk to me!” Zheng Lulu pouted and moved away from Wei Zhongxun.

Tian Zhi couldn’t help but laugh, this was the first time hearing a young girl call Wei Zhongxun a smooth talker. Knowing him for quite some time, his neutral face seems particularly attractive to girls, almost undefeatable. Finally, someone with good judgement!

After Zheng Lulu distanced herself from Wei Zhongxun, she leaned close to Wei Zhongyuan and asked with a smile, ”Brother, what’s your name?”

Wei Zhongyuan: ”...” Feeling a bit teased.

Tian Zhi: ”...” This woman has quite the mouth too.

Wei Zhongxun: ”...” Feeling wounded, how does he lose to that poker face!

”Lulu?”

Beisitian’s voice came from the stairs.

All four turned to see Beisitian standing there sleepily, and Zheng Lulu jumped up and ran over, exclaiming, ”Sister Sitian, I’ll be interning in Beijing from now on, I can come often to play with you!”

She eagerly shared the news with Beisitian, hoping she’d feel the same joy.

Beisitian laughed hearing this, ”Where are you staying now?”

Zheng Lulu said, ”My mom came to Beijing with me, but isn’t staying at my brother’s place. We rented a house near the Third Ring, planning to buy when I have enough money!”

Zheng Lulu is inherently optimistic, a trait Beisitian greatly admires. Although at times stubborn, undeniably she is a cheerful and forward-looking girl.

”That works, your mother moving here does allow close care, saving all the hassle.” Beisitian commented.

Zheng Lulu nodded repeatedly, then looked back at Wei Zhongxun and Tian Zhi who were waving trying to make their presence known, asking, ”Sister Sitian, have you started taking apprentices?”

She knew Beisitian practiced Chinese medicine, which values tradition and lineage. While fewer adhere to it these days, many old Chinese doctors have apprentices.

Beisitian nodded, ”Yes...” barely finishing her sentence before Wei Zhongxun quickly approached.

”Sister, I’m Wei Zhongxun, the first disciple of our master. Here’s my junior disciple, though name not important.”

Tian Zhi’s forehead twitched, deeply inhaling.

Wei Zhongyuan shot Wei Zhongxun a dumbfounded glance, telling Beisitian, ”Doctor Bei, I think I’ll head back today.”

Beisitian nodded, acknowledging he still had much to process, and there wasn’t much to help with anyway.

After Wei Zhongyuan left, Wei Zhongxun relaxed more, constantly bombarding Zheng Lulu with questions, his sly tail wagging behind, luckily Zheng Lulu didn’t buy into his antics.

Finally, Zheng Lulu dragged Beisitian inside, shut the door, and found peace.

”Sister Sitian, that guy’s really annoying!” Zheng Lulu stood at the door hands on hips, still somewhat irritated, calling her sister one time after another, clearly not a good person!

Beisitian chuckled, rare to say a good word about Wei Zhongxun, ”He’s quite good-hearted, but our Lulu is just too pretty.”

Zheng Lulu sheepishly scratched her head; she knew where she stood. In terms of looks, how could she compare to Beisitian.

”Why did you suddenly come to Beijing this time?” Beisitian asked about the main matter.

Zheng Lulu came for this, her expression mellowing, ”Sister Sitian, this time in Beijing is a rare opportunity, maybe I can stay here long-term. Also, I want to take this chance to find my big brother.”

Zheng Lulu’s big brother?

Beisitian remembered she mentioned once before he was missing; why search in Beijing?

”How do you know your big brother is in Beijing?” Beisitian asked.

Since she said so, there must be concrete evidence; otherwise, she wouldn’t arrange her work through connections here.

Zheng Lulu became somber, voice lowering, ”Someone saw my brother.”

”That’s great news, isn’t it?”

Zheng Lulu smiled bitterly, ”Indeed it’s good news, but my brother left us long ago, now seems quite well-off, doubt he’ll still recognize us.”

Beisitian felt surprised, ”You’re siblings, he’ll naturally recognize you, why have such thoughts.”

Zheng Lulu sighed, ”The person who saw my brother told him about us, but mentioned my brother’s expression was indifferent, no care shown, and hasn’t tried finding us all this time, clearly not planning to reconnect.”

”What’s your brother’s name?”

”Zheng Qiwai.”
