I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 451: Chapter 450: Making Amends for Mistakes

Tian Qingyun and Su Lan were called over, looking confused. Seeing Beisitian sitting there, Su Lan suddenly felt a slight unease.

Tian Qingyun still had a smile on his face. He had been in a great mood these past few days. Whether it was families close to the Tian Family or his business partners, everyone resumed their dealings with the Tian Family and treated him with exceptional respect!

All of this was thanks to the Wei Family, or rather, because of Beisitian!

Today, with her here, Tian Qingyun wanted to ask what the deal with the Wei Family was. Had Wei Zhongxun really apprenticed under her?

When Su Lan went back that day and told him what she heard and saw in the North House hall, he couldn’t believe it. This low-key niece was actually noticed by the Wei Family!

However, he found it hard to believe that Wei Zhongxun would want to apprentice under her. The Wei Family was of such caliber; how could they apprentice under Beisitian? There was certainly a connection, and he wanted to know the details.

This matter had not been fully understood, and since the family had kept quiet about it, Tian Qingyun didn’t dare to make a fuss, only saying that the Wei Family wanted to hold an apprenticeship ceremony at the Tian Family. Just that one thing was enough to make other families look at them differently.

Tian Heming saw his third son’s face still smiling unknowingly, not realizing the trouble Beisitian had brought to the Tian Family, making him so angry that his face turned blue. He slammed his hand down on the table, causing the teacups to jingle.

Tian Qingyun jumped in surprise, the smile on his face instantly disappearing, while Su Lan’s heart also beat wildly, confirming her suspicion that being called to the main house today was no good.

”You still have the nerve to smile!” Tian Heming shouted angrily.

Tian Qingyun shivered, hurriedly stood up, bowing his head and daring not to speak, not knowing what he had done wrong.

Su Lan saw her husband stand up, so she followed suit, bowing her head, fear filling her heart.

Even Tian Qinghui didn’t dare speak when Tian Heming was in a fit of rage. The only calm one here was Beisitian.

When Tian Heming’s temper flared, it became uncontrollable. Seeing his third son’s demeanor, his anger surged, and grabbing a nearby teacup, he threw it at Tian Qingyun, still filled with boiling tea.

Tian Heming barely felt the pain in his hand, his chest heaving violently. Seeing this, Beisitian walked over and whispered, ”Grandfather, don’t be angry.”

Tea splashed over Tian Qingyun’s face and head, and he groaned in pain, inadvertently implicating Su Lan beside him, who got splattered with hot water droplets, making her grimace in pain.

Tian Qingyun’s face and neck were bright red, but he dared not make a sound. It had been a long time since he had seen his father this furious!

”Dad, wh-what’s really the matter...” Tian Qingyun asked tremblingly, thinking it was better to die knowing.

When he kept quiet, Tian Heming got angry; when he spoke, Tian Heming got even angrier, wanting to throw something at him—such an inept thing!

”Did you spread the word about the Wei Family apprenticeship?” Tian Qinghui asked sternly.

If he wouldn’t intervene, Tian Heming might start hitting after just a few words. Slapping Tian Qingyun a couple of times might be nothing, but he was afraid Tian Heming might harm his health with anger.

Tian Qingyun was confused, was the old man mad about this?

His thoughts were in a whirlwind; shouldn’t this be promoted more? It’s the Wei Family, and having them befriend the Tian Family was such an honor—it should be known by everyone, why cover it up?

Tian Qinghui saw this and knew Tian Qingyun hadn’t grasped it, which made sense as he wasn’t in the medical field and had zero knowledge of mystic doctors. Even if told now, he likely wouldn’t have any concept; how could he understand the implications?

Beisitian took out the medicine powder from her cloak and gently applied it to the burn on Tian Heming’s hand, pondering the matter as well.

Tian Qinghui explained the reason for the old man’s anger to Tian Qingyun, who still had a hint of bewilderment, while Su Lan knelt down with a thump.

”Dad, it’s my fault. I was the one who asked Qingyun that day. Had I not been curious, Qingyun couldn’t have known. I betrayed your trust, Dad!” Su Lan said choked with emotion, terrified, having never seen the old man so angry since she married in.

Su Lan’s voluntary apology did nothing to improve Tian Heming’s complexion, still with a gloomy face, seemingly trying to quell his anger.

Tian Qinghui shook his head and said, ”This apology should be to Sitiang. Do you not realize the trouble you’ve brought her? The troubles you’ve brought the Tian Family?”

Su Lan looked at Beisitian, yet Beisitian didn’t look at her.

Tian Qingyun also looked at Beisitian, having just learned from his big brother’s mouth that the Wei Family befriended the Tian Family because of Beisitian. What they truly wanted to befriend was Beisitian, but she did not want to spread this, as there could be serious repercussions.

But the news had already spread, what could he do to remedy this?

Tian Qingyun didn’t understand the reason, but now felt deeply regretful. He didn’t know these things, but ignorance can’t be an excuse. Not knowing means being more cautious; it’s his vanity that put the Tian Family in such a passive position—how could he not be remorseful?

The situation was irreversible, Tian Qingyun knew it, of course, Beisitian knew it too. Now, they could neither transfer the third and fourth son’s spouses away nor act as if nothing happened. This actually reduced suspicions from others.

Beisitian kept her mouth shut, the situation making her passive. Luckily, the spread was only by word of mouth, so her personal information remained relatively confidential, allowing her to continue at the 232 Military District Hospital.

Before, her job there was held with a mindset of going with the flow, but after seeing Zheng Qiwai, she knew she might find clues at the 232 Military District Hospital.

And Zhao Yilun, Zheng Qiwai seemed to have some animosity towards him—at least he knew about him.

Time was not on Beisitian’s side, and she didn’t want to spend it dealing with finding someone to blame, so she spoke up: ”This time, Third Uncle and Third Aunt indeed made a mistake.”

Su Lan bit her lip, feeling somewhat embarrassed being reprimanded by a junior, but Beisitian was right. The severe consequences caused by the spread were evident by the old man’s fury.

Tian Qingyun sighed, ”Sitiang, it’s Third Uncle’s fault.”

”Make up for it then,” Beisitian said.

As for how to make up for it, Beisitian didn’t specify, just told them to maintain their current situation and not show signs of being reprimanded or anything else.

None mentioned the fourth son’s spouses. The fourth son was a wife-doting type, which was good in Gu Ran’s opinion, but it depended on the kind of person being doted on. Spoiling indiscriminately is a mistake.

No one wanted to say an extra word about Lei Yehong.
