I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 478: Chapter 477: Brewing

Old Mrs. Luo was furious. For a long time, this shameless thing didn’t dare to speak to her so brazenly. She sneered and said, ”So, your husband and son helped someone, and you expect them to provide for your old age?”

Qin Hongmei’s forehead veins bulged, ”Who said they should provide for old age? We’re all family. They can’t develop and forget their hometown. They’re doing well in Capital City, so find a job for Aiguo and Qiangzi, buy them a house, and we won’t bother them in the future!”

”Find a job and buy a house? Do you think buying a house in Capital City is that easy? Do you think finding a job in Capital City is that easy? If it were that easy, everyone would have moved there!”

Bai Jinfeng, hurriedly comforting the child in her arms, didn’t know if the child was starting to adapt to such a quarrelsome environment. There wasn’t any crying, instead looking around at everyone.

Luo Xuqiang kept his head down and didn’t say anything. One was his mother, and one was his grandma — what could he say? Moreover, personally, he didn’t really want to go to Capital City. He didn’t have any skills, and that’s how his life would be — seeking stability and peace.

Luo Aiguo had a headache from their arguing, and he was mentally blocked up too. He slammed the table and shouted, ”Enough, stop arguing!”

With his shout, the sharp voices immediately halted, and they all looked at him.

Luo Aiguo furrowed his brow, looked at Old Mrs. Luo, and said, ”Mother, just say what’s on your mind.”

Facing her son’s gaze, Old Mrs. Luo felt somewhat guilty, shifted her gaze, and said, ”They currently don’t have the ability to take you all with them. I’m just going there first to keep an eye on them. In a couple of years, let them bring your family over! Otherwise, if they forget in a few years, would you stay here all your life!”

These words sounded unrealistic. Even if Old Mrs. Luo stays healthy for the next couple of years, with her selfish nature, would she remember the eldest son’s family after leaving?

Besides, whether it’s the eldest or second child, they’re both sons. It doesn’t matter where she goes; she’d naturally follow where she enjoys her life. When Luo Laoda’s family goes, it may even burden her with less fine food than before, given that there are a few more mouths to feed.

And in a place like Capital City, it’s hard enough to buy a house, let alone rent a large space, crowded with many people. Where would she squeeze in with Luo Laoda’s family?

After all, she is an elder and used to sleeping alone on a large bed. There, she’ll surely demand a room of her own. Isn’t that nice!

Qin Hongmei understood Old Mrs. Luo’s mindset thoroughly, knowing she was ungrateful. Sons and grandsons meant nothing compared to herself. Back then, she could agree to split the family when the second son’s family was in trouble, allowing her to leave them and go enjoy life in Capital City.

Luo Aiguo sighed, his face full of disappointment. Although he felt Mother was too heartless to the second son’s family back then, it was definitely for the sake of his own family. But with times changing, he now tasted this bitter feeling, losing all gratitude towards his mother.

Qin Hongmei definitely wouldn’t let Old Mrs. Luo leave like this. She was crazy about returning to the city, even once regretting marrying Luo Aiguo and following him. Back then, she was too young, too committed to the idea that love was supreme above all else. Otherwise, she might have married a worker and lived a comfortable city life.

”I say, Mother, we’ve provided for you for so long, you can’t just leave like this. Your sons and grandsons are here, look at their faces.” Qin Hongmei said with a face cold as iron.

Old Mrs. Luo didn’t need to look; everyone’s face looked terrible, as if she had abandoned them. It infuriated her, and she snorted coldly, ”You shameless thing, saying those words to drive a wedge between me and my sons and grandsons? I said I’m going first. They haven’t even settled down there, and expect to take your whole family? Qin Hongmei, how dare you make such demands! Ask yourself how you treated the second son’s family and his wife! Now you want their son to support you?”

Qin Hongmei was about to say more, but Luo Aiguo quickly waved, preventing her from speaking. He turned to Old Mrs. Luo and said, ”Mother, I know Xudong is struggling. How about this, our family won’t go, but take your great-grandchild. If he settles in Capital City, we can be at ease.”

This opportunity was extremely difficult to ask for, even forcing Luo Aiguo to thicken his face to request it. He pleaded with his brother Luo Anguo, but Luo Anguo told him that he and his wife and youngest son were already seeking refuge with the eldest son and daughter-in-law, burdening them. Asking to bring another family was too much to ask.

Luo Anguo laid everything out for Luo Aiguo, and he understood the difficulty, knowing no one else could easily make such a request, especially after only a month in Capital City, where everything was new.

After much thought, if Mother could be persuaded, he’d thick-skinnedly follow. If it couldn’t be done, they’d try to send one child over. As long as one could settle in Capital City, the entire family could move in the future.

Qin Hongmei wasn’t so farsighted and got anxious upon hearing it. She truly couldn’t bear to stay in the poor mountain area any longer. She desperately wanted to return to the city and secretly visited her family several times to plead with her brothers, but she had severed ties so strongly when she left, her brothers ignored her.

Only one sister kept in touch, but the sister was married off and couldn’t help her.

Qin Hongmei was anxious, but Old Mrs. Luo was even more anxious. Wasn’t settling in Capital City a matter of residence registration? Her face turned red immediately, and she flatly refused, ”No way! There’s only one spot for residence registration, and Little Tian’er already promised it to me!”

She didn’t even consider her own son’s needs, taking her grandson’s registration; and certainly wouldn’t bother with her great-grandson!

Old Mrs. Luo was too agitated, blurting out the words, making Luo Aiguo’s face turn ashen. His mother truly cared for nobody, clearly knowing the registration spot would go to Luo Xuping!

Taking Luo Xuping’s spot, did she even think about the great-grandson?

Luo Aiguo himself knew, once Old Mrs. Luo left, she wouldn’t return or consider this side anymore.

”Old woman, we truly wasted time providing for you all these years!” Qin Hongmei jumped off the bed, angrily pointing at Old Mrs. Luo’s nose and cursing.

Old Mrs. Luo had never sustained such disrespect. She overturned the side table in anger and shouted, ”You shameless thing, what do you mean ’wasted time’? Isn’t this house mine? What was agreed upon back then, whichever family provided for me would get the house? Back then, this house was big in the village, and you begged at my feet like a lapdog to provide for me, and now you say such things!”
