I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 483: Chapter 482: Delivering a Message

Wu Yuekai also had Li Xuejun bring a gift and a message for Beisitian, telling her ’everything is fine’.

Beisitian knew that Wu Yuekai was referring to the matter of Beidewang. Before going to pick up Luo Anguo and his wife, she had sent Beidewang to the old man’s place, as it was relatively safer there.

The Luo Anguo couple had both seen Beidewang before, so they couldn’t see him temporarily. It wasn’t that they didn’t trust them, but this matter seemed strange everywhere, so it was better not to involve them.

In the past two days, Beisitian has been taking Mrs. Qin around the area, learning where to buy vegetables and meat, and knowing what places repair different things.

The courtyards in this area are generally prepared for people with some background, so they are different from courtyards in other areas. The courtyards here all have toilets installed, unlike other places that have public toilets. You just need to clean them yourself regularly, so Mrs. Qin doesn’t have to worry about toilets.

They have been going out for strolls these past two days, and Mrs. Qin has met quite a few people, like the old man repairing shoes by the corner wall, and the old lady selling tea eggs nearby. They are locals, but they don’t live in this area. Even though they live in siheyuan, many people share one courtyard.

Running a small business now isn’t criticized as speculative profiteering, so naturally, a lot of people want to earn a little extra money, making life a bit easier.

These two have been selling in this alley for several years now, and they are considered old-timers, as familiar with the alley as the residents here.

Additionally, their neighbor, Zhou Yunxia, also took the initiative to greet Mrs. Qin and warmly invited them to her home for a visit.

Mrs. Qin had just arrived and didn’t want to bother them, so she politely declined, promising to visit another day before she and Beisitian returned home.

With a rough impression of the surrounding environment here, Mrs. Qin’s sense of resistance eased a lot. Although she couldn’t quite consider this place home yet, since her eldest son’s family and her youngest son and husband were all here, this place was home.

Luo Anguo was not staying at home either. He went for strolls by himself, covering all the nearby alleys. He needed to adapt to the environment quickly.

Luo Xuping, being just a child, had some resistance to going to a new school. The kids here were city kids, and he was sure they would look down on him. He was even looked down upon when he went to study in the town, and he didn’t like that feeling of being an outsider.

Beisitian noticed Luo Xuping’s depressed mood over the past few days and asked Luo Xudong to take him to the military base a few times.

Boys need to be strong, but previously Luo Anguo was bedridden, relying solely on Mrs. Qin. No matter how capable Mrs. Qin was, she was still a woman, and this affected Luo Xuping’s character and way of handling things.

Because there was no progress with the matter of Bei Jiale and Beidewang couldn’t be cured in a short time, Beisitian temporarily returned to a peaceful life.

Tian Zhi and Wei Zhongxun came to report almost every day. Through Wei Zhongxun, the Wei Family learned that Beisitian had two new people here. After understanding the situation, Wei Yuanqing immediately prepared generous gifts. By this time, another courtyard was almost refurbished and could conveniently serve as a housewarming gift — not abrupt or sycophantic.

Luo Anguo and Mrs. Qin received various gifts in succession, and all the major household items were pretty much complete, so they didn’t even need to buy anything!

Although they didn’t know who these people were, by seeing what they wore, the cars they drove, and the things they used, they knew these were not ordinary people, and it seemed they were all here for Beisitian.

The couple secretly marveled at how this child was never meant to be stuck in that small mountain village. Look at the great accomplishments after coming out!

Fortunately, there was no delay!

Their courtyard is now even more complete with major items than the other side — televisions, refrigerators, washing machines — these household appliances were things they didn’t even dare dream of!

The Capital City is really great. Now the whole Kao Village only has one black-and-white TV, and it was acquired from the town. Everyone pays for electricity together and watches it together at night.

But now, they have one just at home!

Mrs. Qin looked at the washing machine closely, lifting the lid to reveal a bag with fine mesh inside, wondering curiously if this thing could really clean clothes?!

After looking at the washing machine, she went to look at the refrigerator. In the summer, any extra meat bought could be stored inside, so it wouldn’t spoil and could stay fresh!

”Old woman, we can’t use this, should we just move it over to them?” Luo Anguo said.

That courtyard doesn’t even have these things, but they started using them first!

Mrs. Qin sighed, ”Who says otherwise, but Little Tian’er said we were originally meant to use them first. She said they are planning to buy these too. Do you think she’s lying to me?”

”Little Tian’er never lied to us; if she says so, then we don’t need to worry about it,” Luo Anguo said.

Mrs. Qin nodded, indeed they had never been deceived. But thinking they were using these first, she couldn’t help feeling uneasy.

These things should be used by the young ones first. It’s all the same whether they have them or not.

The two of them don’t have any acquaintances here, and after more than a week, they felt somewhat stifled, going out not knowing anyone and feeling a bit lacking in confidence, given they were from the countryside.

However, the people here are all highly skilled and none are simple, especially considering the recent events at the small courtyard of Beisitian. Everyone has been watching.

Cars come one after another, military vehicles in various designs and models, clearly not from just one family. The sedans also show off many brands, evidently not from one or two families either.

Initially, those who thought Luo Xudong and his wife got a bargain on a haunted house bought it because of that, but when they bought the adjacent one too, it was something else. Coupled with these vehicles coming and going, who wouldn’t have some ideas?

Even if they looked down on Luo Anguo and Mrs. Qin coming from the countryside, they wouldn’t show it on their faces. But people from Old Beijing are truly warm-hearted, and some of similar age groups have started thinking about getting to know Mrs. Qin, making a few visits.

Luo Anguo, in his earlier years, could play chess. A bunch of old men gathered at the base of the wall playing chess, and he stood behind them watching quietly. After a few days, someone finally noticed him, and gradually people began inviting him to play.

The couple here are both trying to quickly integrate into this unfamiliar environment, while on the other side, Beisitian still has no progress.

For the complex region of the brain, even talismanic water requires continuous time, and there was no progress with Beidewang, Bei Jiale appeared once and then vanished like evaporation, couldn’t be found again.

That day, Ma Tianlai suddenly came to the small courtyard and said something to Beisitian that shocked her.
