I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 474: Chapter 473: Blank

Beisitian planned to find an opportunity to visit the Wei Family. Currently, she knows too little about the mystic doctors of this world, which leaves her very passive. Some matters might belong to the realm of strange and mysterious affairs, but she could learn a lot from the history of mystic doctors.

She had no chance before, but now she has begun to come into contact with mystic doctors, who have their own history.

Besides the formal history of mystic doctors, Beisitian also plans to learn about them through other means, such as the comrades mentioned by Ma Sanqiang.

On this day, during a break, Beisitian gave Beidewang talismanic water to drink. This talismanic water is meant for nurturing the spirit. Besides having suffered a severe brain injury, Beidewang seems to have also been mentally stimulated, because the night before, he suddenly started convulsing with his eyes tightly shut, muttering about seeking revenge and the like.

For whom he wants to seek revenge, and against whom, he didn’t mention a word.

Beisitian knows that many secrets are hidden in Beidewang’s memory. Once Beidewang is cured, many things will become clear!

The key is that treating amnesia and severe brain injuries takes a lot of time.

Beisitian instructed Fan Ping and Lu Gang to keep an eye on Beidewang. One to prevent him from running out on his own, and the other to prevent someone from sneaking in to harm him.

Fan Ping and Lu Gang are people trusted by Old Luo, proper soldiers. Since there is usually only Beisitian, a woman, in the courtyard, Old Luo was worried and had them come to the courtyard to keep watch. Luo Xudong’s men are all guarding outside.

Regarding this, Luo Xudong naturally has no objections, as it’s all for Beisitian’s good.

Fan Ping and Lu Gang are both from Wu Yuekai’s guard unit, both about 1.8 meters tall, looking average, around twenty-six or twenty-seven years old. Being able to enter Wu Yuekai’s guard unit, their skills are naturally unquestionable!

Luo Xudong personally vetted these two, not because he doesn’t trust Wu Yuekai, but because the protection target became Beisitian, he wanted to personally oversee it.

Beisitian returned to the north room to pack things to visit the Wei Family when the phone suddenly rang. She picked up the phone, and Mrs. Qin’s voice came from the other end.

”Little Tian’er, it’s me,” said Mrs. Qin.

”Mom, have you packed everything?” Beisitian asked.

Previously, she had called Mrs. Qin and Luo Anguo to explain the situation, hoping they could come to Beijing to live with them. The couple was hesitant at first, but after Beisitian used Luo Xuping as an excuse and persuaded them several times, they finally agreed to come to Beijing to live together.

The voice on the other end was hesitant, ”Little Tian’er, it’s like this. Your dad and I discussed it, and we still don’t want to leave the village.”

Beisitian was stunned and couldn’t help but ask, ”Is it because Grandma doesn’t want to?”

There was a moment of silence before the voice said, ”Mainly, we don’t really feel like leaving either.”

It seems Old Mrs. Luo is the obstacle. If Mrs. Qin and Luo Anguo were to come to Beijing, it would naturally be to live there permanently. This couldn’t be hidden from the villagers. Old Mrs. Luo was originally from the city. Knowing the second son’s family can return to the city, she wouldn’t try to follow along, which would be unexpected.

Beisitian knows that Mrs. Qin doesn’t want to bring Old Mrs. Luo with them. If she came, the whole family would likely be thrown into chaos, and Beisitian probably wouldn’t be able to treat this place as a stable nest.

”Mom, don’t worry about this. I’ll figure it out. You just pack things steadily and sell what needs to be sold,” Beisitian said.

Mrs. Qin sighed and said, ”Actually, it’s not just because of your grandma. The house here was just built, and your dad and I are reluctant to leave. Also, you and Xudong aren’t young anymore. According to the tradition on our side, once children establish their careers and families, they are supposed to live separately. If we come, we’ll still have to live with you, which wouldn’t be convenient for you two either.”

Beisitian, upon hearing this, smiled and said, ”Mom, you really don’t have to worry about that. Xudong and I have already discussed whether we could buy the backyard courtyard and connect it. This way, we have separate quarters, but can still take care of each other.”

Mrs. Qin hesitated once more. She was indeed reluctant to leave, yet she wanted to see her eldest son and Beisitian often and was afraid of inconveniencing them by living together. As people age, they tend to get more fussy.

But another important point that made the couple decide was Luo Xuping’s education. Could Beijing’s education level compare to the village’s?

Mrs. Qin sighed again. Beisitian’s words had a significant impact on her. What had been decided before the call was now wavering again after hearing Beisitian.

”Alright, I’ll listen to you,” Mrs. Qin said.

Let’s go back and think of a solution.

After hanging up the phone, Beisitian went out. Although the military assigned a car to Luo Xudong, the car was typically driven to his workplace, so she couldn’t use it. Fortunately, the public transportation here is very convenient.

Upon arriving at the Wei Family, the doorman immediately let her pass without even needing to report it. Clearly, Wei Yuanqing had already instructed everyone to recognize Beisitian’s face and to let her in as soon as they saw her.

After entering, someone led Beisitian straight to Wei Yuanqing’s study.

This was Beisitian’s first visit to the Wei Family. The place gave her a very warm feeling. Unlike typical quadrangles, it had pavilions and a small man-made water system, with running water reportedly drawn from underground, flowing around the rockeries with a gentle murmur. Various goldfish swim gracefully in the water, quite at ease. Although not large in scale, it was adequate for viewing.

The setting here made her feel as if she had returned to her past life.

With a soft smile on her lips, Beisitian walked over while enjoying the scenery. Although the Wei Family’s layout is intricate, compared to the courtyards and pavilions of her past life, it falls far short. Yet the resemblance in spirit made her feel close to it.

The layout here is even more complex than that of the Tian Family, with division into front and back courtyards, and even small courtyards within them.

Wei Yuanqing lived in the most tranquil place because he liked quietness.

When Beisitian arrived, Wei Zhongxun was watching Wei Yuanqing write. She didn’t interrupt, quietly waiting on the side. The grandfather and grandson were both engrossed—one in writing, the other in watching—such that neither had noticed Beisitian’s arrival.

Only when Wei Yuanqing finished writing and looked up did he notice Beisitian and immediately put down his pen. ”Doctor Bei has arrived, and the people below didn’t say a word.”

”I asked them not to,” Beisitian replied with a smile.

After some pleasantries, Beisitian explained her intentions, and then noticed a peculiar expression cross Wei Yuanqing’s face as he exchanged a glance with Wei Zhongxun.

”What’s wrong?” Beisitian couldn’t help but ask.

Wei Yuanqing sighed and said, ”There is a history of mystic doctors, but it’s incomplete. Many family histories are not fully recorded, including our Wei Family. The missing parts are almost all from ninety to about three hundred years ago, leaving around two hundred years of history blank!”
