I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 470: Chapter 469: Business After Dinner

Beisitian had heard of this elderly man before. When he came to get medicine last time, she had listened to his story, so he wasn’t entirely unfamiliar to her.

The elderly man’s condition was entirely due to his injuries, which everyone knew as the cause, but treating it properly was indeed very challenging.

Currently, there isn’t any advanced medical technology available domestically to remove so many fragments from his body. Even if it were possible, due to the elderly man’s age, a single anesthesia procedure might be too risky, and he might not wake up from it.

Moreover, the elderly man also suffers from myocardial infarction, making surgery even more difficult, so he can only rely on medication.

The elderly man initially took painkillers, but consuming such medication excessively is harmful to the body. Eventually, the effectiveness reduced significantly, and he had increased the dosage to five pills per meal!

Later, through the recommendation of a former president of the 232 Military District, he came to the traditional medicine clinic for treatment. This continued for five or six years, initially with average results, but gradually improved before diminishing again later on.

Repeatedly, Qin Fengwang prescribed all possible prescriptions to him, and Ma Sanqiang tried all available medications, now unsure what to do when the pain strikes acutely.

This elderly man’s condition didn’t require the techniques of a Mystic Doctor, but Beisitian happened to have two ancient prescriptions suitable for him, so she said, ”Sir, I have a prescription here that you can try. I’ll write down the method of preparing the medicine and the time to take it for you.”

Ma Sanqiang had been quietly observing Beisitian, wondering if this child was even twenty years old.

However, since Qin Fengwang had recommended her, Ma Sanqiang naturally didn’t question anything. After interacting with them for so many years, he knew the kind of people they were. If Qin Fengwang wasn’t reliable, the former president wouldn’t have introduced him at that time.

Qin Fengwang held some hope, after all, Beisitian’s prescription for Jiang Yanmei had been very effective, perhaps it could also help here, so he felt curious when he saw Beisitian writing the prescription on paper.

Beisitian quickly wrote out the prescription, and after hesitating for a moment, Qin Fengwang asked, ”Doctor Xiao Bei, may I take a look?”

Beisitian smiled slightly and handed the prescription to Qin Fengwang.

Qin Fengwang pushed his glasses up and started reading, his expression growing increasingly surprised and finally quite amazed as he looked at Beisitian and said, ”Doctor Xiao Bei may seem young, but her skills are truly impressive. This is an ancient prescription!”

Many ancient prescriptions have been lost. These ancient prescriptions are treasures of traditional medicine, with some having remarkable effects. Unfortunately, with the gradual decline of traditional medicine, these prescriptions end up as useless waste paper in the hands of those who don’t understand them.

He was surprised by Beisitian’s casual knowledge of one such ancient prescription, which changed his impression of her again.

Ma Sanqiang had no particular feelings about Beisitian, all his understanding came from Qin Fengwang. If it really was as he said, this young girl did have some ability, but whether it would be effective was still unknown.

Anyone seeing Beisitian’s age would inevitably question it, but there was no avoiding that.

”Brother Ma, you are lucky. Doctor Xiao Bei was recently assigned to our place. If she hadn’t come, I would have been helpless with your condition.” Qin Fengwang kept speaking highly of Beisitian because she generously shared such an ancient prescription with him, showing a level of generosity he found himself lacking.

Seeing Qin Fengwang’s convincing praise, Ma Sanqiang took the prescription and rushed to get the medicine.

After Ma Sanqiang left, Qin Fengwang continued to praise Beisitian, making her a bit embarrassed, but it also made her realize why traditional medicine was declining.

If she could compile the ancient prescriptions she knew into a book and spread them widely, traditional medicine might see some change.

Beisitian didn’t have much experience and planned to consult Tian Heming.

With this thought, her mind began to come alive; the prescriptions she knew were mostly ancient ones, whose effectiveness varied from person to person, but generally worked well.

If it could be spread, it could have a significant impact on the path and direction traditional medicine should take.

After work, Beisitian wanted to visit the Tian Family, but unexpectedly Luo Xudong returned, so she went home instead.

When she arrived home, Luo Xudong was taking a bath, and hearing the sound of running water, Beisitian felt a bit more at ease knowing he had returned safely.

Beisitian started preparing dinner first, and halfway through, a tall figure appeared in the kitchen. She glanced back and saw Luo Xudong’s handsome and stern face, smiling slightly, ”You’re back.”

The ice on Luo Xudong’s face melted instantly into warm sunshine, melting his heart as he stepped forward to embrace Beisitian from behind, whispering softly in her ear, ”I missed you.”

Beisitian laughed softly, and even after all this time, she still couldn’t help feeling a bit shy, ”Why don’t you rest outside for a bit? Dinner will be ready soon.”

Luo Xudong wouldn’t let go, acting like a large loyal dog as he rested his chin on Beisitian’s shoulder, refusing to release her grip.

Beisitian had no choice but to cook with the large attachment hanging on her, and as the aroma wafted through the air, she suddenly heard a rumbling sound from the large attachment behind her.

Beisitian paused momentarily, then chuckled softly.

Luo Xudong kept a straight face, still refusing to let go, despite the awkwardness not meaning much when it came to his wife. Having eaten dry buns for over half a month, he couldn’t help his stomach reacting to Beisitian’s cooking.

The meal was finally ready, and after arranging the bowls and chopsticks on the table, they began to eat.

”I saw that person,” Luo Xudong said.

Beisitian paused, looking up, ”Bei Jiale?”

Luo Xudong was slightly surprised, ”You knew?”

Beisitian nodded and shared what General Zhou had told her, while Luo Xudong recounted his experience without missing a word.

A photo revealed nothing special, but being able to go to Taiwan meant either Bei Jiale had great abilities or she had always been in Taiwan.

The most recent appearance was in Xishuangbanna, and it seemed Bei Jiale wasn’t completely oblivious to Beisitian.

However, how she knew, and through what means, Beisitian had no idea.

”Did you immediately realize she wasn’t me?” Beisitian asked incredulously, raising an eyebrow.

Luo Xudong’s lips curved up, ”Of course. Is there anywhere on you that I’m not familiar with? Naturally, I could tell at a glance.”

Beisitian turned red at his nonchalant words, whispering softly and giving him a sidelong glance.

Luo Xudong had been teasing her, although it was indeed true. Seeing her coquettish appearance stirred his heart, ”Let’s hurry up and eat.”

Beisitian paused, ”Do you have to go to the army?”

”No, we have work to do after dinner!”
