I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 487: Chapter 486: Not Alone

This talisman powder was not specifically prepared for the infant. After all, Beisitian just learned about the situation and had no time to prepare. This is leftover talisman powder from the last time used for Zhou Biwu’s body regulation, mixed with a small amount of ginseng, all of which is thousand-year-old ginseng.

A single drop is sufficient for the tiny infant, but when Beisitian held the baby, she found that its vitality had rapidly declined in a short time, so she had to give two drops.

This medicine, because it contains thousand-year-old ginseng, is a great tonic. With the addition of talisman powder, it can indeed save his life. However, he will have one more issue in the future.

Prone to heat!

The two doctors watched Beisitian’s strange behavior but, remembering that red-headed document, could only suppress their doubts. They had just examined the infant, and the heart rate had already dropped below 10, which was equivalent to cardiac arrest.

”Oh no, he also aspirated amniotic fluid!” Beisitian frowned.

The two doctors were puzzled. Hearing what Beisitian said, they exchanged glances. One younger doctor said, ”Doctor Bei, we can help suction out the amniotic fluid, but...”

But what use is it to suction it out? The child is already gone!

Beisitian was overjoyed when she heard them. Even though she had a solution, it required the infant to have sufficient vitality, supplemented by the talisman powder and some massage techniques to induce the baby to cough or cry, but she was helpless given the infant’s current condition.

The female doctor took the infant from Beisitian, seeing that the baby looked no different than before, with a wrinkled little face still a bluish-gray color. Such a child, even if the amniotic fluid is suctioned out, couldn’t be saved.

Moreover, suctioning the amniotic fluid isn’t a simple task. Whether it’s the equipment or medical tools, it all costs money. Given the current situation, spending this money seems unnecessary.

The female doctor wanted to say a few things but ultimately sighed. Likely, anyone would do their utmost at the last moment.

The female doctor reattached the fetal heart rate electrodes to the infant, only to suddenly notice that the line on the monitor had turned into a curve. Though the amplitude wasn’t large, it was indeed no longer a straight line!

”This infant... the heartbeat has returned?!”

Clearly, the heart had stopped just now. Why has it started again?!

The other female doctor paused hearing this, quickly checked the monitor, and indeed, just as her colleague said, there was a change in the curve, and it seemed the heart rate was steadily increasing!

This increase was rapid. In that brief moment, it already approached 50.

The two female doctors subconsciously looked at Beisitian, noting that it was she who had dripped something in the infant’s mouth, bringing the child back to life. What exactly did she do?!

”Don’t disturb Professor Qiu,” Beisitian softly reminded.

One of them had wanted to call for Professor Qiu just now, but Professor Qiu was stitching up Tian Qiu. It’s said this kind of operation requires multi-layered suturing, an extremely precise and careful task without the slightest margin for error.

The two female doctors exchanged glances again, seeing the shock and confusion in each other’s eyes. However, now wasn’t the time to ask more questions. They promptly prepared medical tools to suction out the amniotic fluid. Fortunately, it wasn’t much but still exerted considerable pressure on the child’s lungs.

Previously, because they believed the child was beyond saving, they weren’t actively addressing the amniotic fluid, but now that the baby was alive, they were keen to make the most of every moment to withdraw the amniotic fluid.

Soon, the amniotic fluid was cleared, and by this time, the infant’s fetal heart rate had recovered to 100, about to enter the normal range!

Despite not having much medical practice, the two hadn’t seen or heard of such strange occurrences. The infant’s recovery was swift, with the face gradually regaining color, the bluish-gray beginning to fade.

By the time Professor Qiu finished suturing, the baby’s heart rate had returned to normal, at 125 beats per minute!

When Professor Qiu finished stitching, the remaining tasks were handed off to other doctors. The two doctors who had been responsible for resuscitating the infant recounted the events.

Professor Qiu rushed over to examine the infant and found that aside from being slightly weak, everything was normal!

She looked at Beisitian in awe, asking, ”How did you do it?”

Beisitian simply smiled without answering.

Seeing this, Professor Qiu understood that she wasn’t at liberty to disclose, then recalled Dean Du’s various odd behaviors. No wonder the red-headed document arrived so quickly. No wonder Dean Du made every effort to accommodate her requests.

This young doctor is undoubtedly no ordinary person.

Beisitian glanced at Tian Qiu and found her unscathed, easing her concerns.

The doctor on the other side advised Tian Qiu not to fall asleep. She shouldn’t sleep within 8 hours, which is a bit torturous for someone under anesthesia. Tian Qiu obediently nodded, trying to keep her eyes open.

The adults were wheeled out of surgery, while the infant, though stable now, had actually stopped breathing before, hence still required monitoring before being returned to the family.

The doctor went out and explained the situation to Weng Yong’an, detailing the precautions carefully.

By now, members of the Tian Family had already arrived. The second uncle and aunt gathered around too. Hearing the news scared them so much their legs turned weak, and they admonished Weng Yong’an. A cesarean section is a major issue; they should have been informed. What if... they hadn’t even seen Tian Qiu’s face!

Though they scolded him, they understood the urgency of the situation at the time, eventually just sighing.

”Mr. Dong?” Professor Qiu was startled to see Dong Fengzhen outside.

In addressing females with ’Mr.’ after their name, it is a great sign of respect. Professor Qiu held great respect for Dong Fengzhen, having even attended some of her lectures on health and medicinal cuisine in earlier years.

Surprised by Dong Fengzhen’s presence, they soon discovered that the person Professor Qiu had just performed surgery on was from the Tian Family, and the remarkable Doctor Bei who surprised her was Dong Fengzhen’s granddaughter!

”Truly a family of medical professionals. Mr. Dong’s household indeed has exceptional people,” Professor Qiu remarked with admiration.

Though unaware of how Beisitian accomplished it, the infant was genuinely revived by her and is in excellent condition now, with nothing wrong discovered.

Dong Fengzhen, aware of Beisitian’s abilities, felt reassured during the surgery upon learning of Beisitian’s presence, knowing the chances of well-being for both mother and child were high, rightly so.

Professor Qiu chatted briefly with Dong Fengzhen, glanced at an on-the-sidelines Beisitian resting her eyes, and said, ”But Doctor Bei should also take care of herself. She seemed fatigued when she came out, likely overly worried, and now that she’s not alone, she shouldn’t overexert herself.”

Dong Fengzhen was taken aback upon hearing this, then carefully looked at Beisitian.
