I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 468: Chapter 467: Not Simple

Beisitian visited Zhou Biwu early in the morning, as it was her first visit, she brought some cigarettes and liquor as gifts, ensuring there were no lapses in etiquette.

”General Zhou is recovering well.” Beisitian remarked with a light smile.

Zhou Biwu nodded, ”Thanks to Doctor Bei’s concern, with your medicine, the recovery is indeed going well.”

He said this sincerely, and Beisitian’s words reminded him that his life was saved by the person in front of him.

”Does General Zhou know why I’m here? May I ask who the person in the photo is?” Beisitian inquired directly.

Zhou Biwu was silent for a moment, then said, ”Her name is Bei Jiale.”

Bei Jiale?!

Beisitian had never heard this name before.

”Is General Zhou familiar with her?”

”Sort of.”

Beisitian was helpless. This question-and-answer exchange was only effective if Zhou Biwu cooperated. If he didn’t, two or three questions would make him impatient, yet his answers were succinct, providing no extra information.

”Can General Zhou tell me what exactly is going on?” Beisitian asked bluntly.

Zhou Biwu shook his head, ”I don’t know what’s going on either.”

The two were discussing why she and Bei Jiale looked so alike, as if carved from the same mold.

Zhou Biwu also wanted to ask Beisitian, but she possibly knew even less than he did, as he had already investigated Beisitian some time ago, and her past seemed to be written on paper, without a trace of falsehood.

But such a clear past, that almost everyone knows, made her feel even more mysterious.

Why is Beisitian the Mystic Doctor?

In her past twenty years, only in recent years did she begin to have records of practicing medicine; she couldn’t have suddenly become the Mystic Doctor.

Even if personality changes due to experiences, skills cannot; thus, Beisitian’s secrets are no fewer than Bei Jiale’s!

They might even be more than Bei Jiale’s!

Women with the surname Bei are all so complicated.

Zhou Biwu felt a sincere sense of wonder.

”Then can General Zhou tell me what you know? Since you left me the photo, you can’t just say nothing.” Beisitian said.

Zhou Biwu was silent for a moment, then said, ”Sorry Doctor Bei, I can’t reveal her information for now. You saved my life, and she saved my life too. Of course, I won’t tell her your information either.”

This was like saying nothing at all, making Beisitian slightly displeased. Did he just leave her a photo and tell her a name without saying anything else?

In fact, the reason Zhou Biwu left the photo for Beisitian was to have some interaction with her through this method. Previously, Beisitian had completely ignored him, and now he could gradually unravel the secrets in this matter.

This issue might not be fully understood by either of the two individuals involved, but Bei Jiale seemed to know more.

”How did General Zhou realize he mistook the person?” Beisitian asked, hoping to glean information from these seemingly trivial questions.

”Personality and method of doing things.” Zhou Biwu said, ”You and she have completely different personalities. She is lively and a bit mischievous, sometimes making people think she is a bad girl; whereas you have a serene personality, handling matters calmly.”

During this time, apart from inquiring about Beisitian’s past, he also reviewed recordings of Beisitian treating him. Though it was the same matter, due to different personalities, their working style would differ. Watching once, and hearing others outside talk, he knew they really were not the same person!

”General Zhou knows her well.” Beisitian replied with a half-smile.

”Yes, because I have spent more time with her, otherwise I would know you better.” Zhou Biwu said without missing a beat.

Afterwards, Beisitian asked a few more questions, but Zhou Biwu did not divulge a single useful word, leaving her frustrated and returning without success.

Beisitian, annoyed, went back to complain to Wu Yuekai, who immediately came to visit.

Zhou Biwu looked at Wu Yuekai in front of him and felt as if he had bullied the young, then the old came.

”Old Wu, you wouldn’t be here for their matter, would you?”

”What else? Why don’t you tell what you know?” Wu Yuekai snorted.

Zhou Biwu chuckled bitterly, and then left Wu Yuekai speechless with one sentence.

”If someone was probing for Doctor Bei’s information by any means, would you say anything?”

Wu Yuekai was silent, glaring in frustration without retorting. Not to mention telling others, he would certainly investigate that person’s ancestry through eighteen generations, before deciding on further actions.

”Is that Bei Jiale so important to you?” Wu Yuekai asked, implying that no matter how important, it couldn’t outweigh his relationship with the girl.

Zhou Biwu pondered and honestly said, ”I am indeed grateful to her.”

Wu Yuekai knew he still wasn’t telling the truth. Beisitian also saved him, yet he didn’t see Zhou Biwu being so intensely grateful.

Clearly, there were other hidden matters Zhou Biwu didn’t want to discuss.

Wu Yuekai couldn’t force him and had to chat about other things before leaving.

Beisitian knew Wu Yuekai wouldn’t get any results either and wasn’t holding out much hope, so she wasn’t disappointed.

”Old Man, how’s the investigation going?” Beisitian asked.

Upon hearing, Wu Yuekai’s expression grew a bit grave, ”No one has paid attention to your father’s side. Nothing much was found from the investigation, but your father’s background isn’t simple.”

No one knows where Beidewang came from, and even the Tian Family doesn’t know. The only thing known was a phrase: fallen traditional Chinese medicine practitioner.

Besides this, Beidewang only had this name, with the rest being completely blank.

Wu Yuekai knew that the more this was the case, the less simple the person was. However, the person had died so many years ago, no matter how extraordinary, it was useless; they could only investigate the previous generation to see if there were any cousins of Beisitian.

This was not easy to investigate. Wu Yuekai had an extensive network, and Luo Xudong had been building his own information network for years, yet they still had no clues even after such a long time, which was thought-provoking.

After the two discussed for a long time without coming to any conclusions, they stopped talking about it.

”By the way, Dean Du arranged for Tian Zhi to intern at the Traditional Chinese Medicine department of the 300 Military District Hospital, and the Wei Family arranged for Wei Zhongxun to join the Capital Medical Research Institute. These two apprentices of yours might provide you with some information in the future.”

Beisitian nodded. Their situations needed sorting out. She already understood Tian Zhi’s situation, but she still needed to observe Wei Zhongxun to determine his status.

Tian Zhi is a candidate for the inheritance, and he must be well-taught. Beisitian also plans to teach Wei Zhongxun well. Regardless of the Wei Family’s background, with Wei Zhongxun extending a hand at critical moments, he is considered a good person, and Beisitian acknowledges his kindness.
