God's Imitator

Fu Chen also felt somewhat regretful. During his third attempt, he originally had a good chance, but midway he also encountered the car pen ’losing control’ situation.

An inexplicable force suddenly appeared, causing the car pen in his hand to suddenly veer sideways, going right out of bounds.

This result was somewhat terrible, but things had come to this point and there was no better solution.

They could only gather around the hexagonal platform, preparing to complete ’exclusive punishment.’

The six players first placed their car pens into the special device on the platform. This device had six different clips that could just fit the car pens in.

Afterward, the six players each still gripped their own car pens with arms suspended.

However, this device was connected to the platform. The bottom was in a magnetic levitation-like state and could move freely, but since it supported the weight of the car pens, compared to the ’track in the picture’ gameplay, it was still much easier for the players.

”Click” sounds kept ringing. The players’ head mechanisms locked, covering their vision.

The lighting in the room was already poor, and now they were plunged into complete darkness.

Fu Chen could only continue gripping the car pen, silently waiting. Not knowing how long had passed, a ”beep” sound came to his ears, and the head mechanism unlocked again.

Fu Chen was somewhat unaccustomed to this brightness for a moment. He slowly opened his eyes and found the device had ultimately stopped in the trapezoidal area in front of Chen Ran.

At the same time, a door opened with a ”bang.”

Inside was still pitch black, nothing could be seen, and there were no hints on the notice board at the doorway either.

Chen Ran was visibly somewhat flustered.

She had short hair, and her clothing and style were relatively masculine, giving people a feeling somewhat like a ”tomboy.”

Having obtained the best ’sports car’ and smoothly clearing the first round’s ’track in the picture,’ Chen Ran’s start could be described as extremely promising.

She just hadn’t expected that the first ’exclusive punishment’ would fall to her.

The other players said nothing, just silently watching Chen Ran.

Chen Ran hesitated for a moment, but she also knew that being afraid was useless. If she didn’t enter the room during this round of the game, she would still suffer instant death penalty.

Thinking of this, Chen Ran stepped into the room.

After a while, the room door closed with a ”bang.”

[Punishment: Surveillance]

[Please take a seat at the seat in the room, player.]

[The game will last 5 minutes. If the player cumulatively presses the button on the table for 3 minutes, it is considered successfully completed.]

[During the game, the ’surveillance puppet’ will move randomly in the room. When within the ’surveillance puppet’s’ frontal field of vision, if detected pressing the button, you will suffer ’whipping’ punishment.]

[If the player cumulatively presses the button on the table for less than 3 minutes, they will suffer instant death penalty.]

[If the player cumulatively presses the button on the table for more than 3 minutes, each additional 10 seconds will earn an additional 2,000 minutes of visa time.]

Fu Chen and the other inner field players came to the room door and could see the situation inside through a small window on the door.

In the room were a total of six sets of tables and chairs with different designs, but they weren’t neatly arranged in one or two rows. Instead, they were arranged randomly.

Some were in corners, some in the center of the room, and the tables and chairs faced different directions.

The only commonality was that next to each set of table and chairs was a special mechanism, with a mechanical arm connected to a whip.

In the room was a special puppet, though it hadn’t been activated yet for the time being.

After brief consideration, Chen Ran chose a seat relatively close to a wall but facing outward.

Obviously, the positions and orientations of these seats determined the difficulty of observing the ’surveillance puppet’s’ movements and the probability of being discovered by the ’surveillance puppet.’

The other players were also watching through the small window from outside. Although no one spoke, they were all somewhat nervous.

Because each player corresponded to a type of punishment in the room. Now it was Chen Ran, but sooner or later it would be others’ turn.

Just then, broadcasts began sounding consecutively in the venue.

[Chen Ran has received 6,666 funds.]

[Peng Xinyuan has received 3,333 funds.]

[Jiao Hai has received 6,666 funds.]

[Shen Xing has received 6,999 funds.]

[Liu Jie has received 7,483 funds.]

[Fu Chen has received 8,083 funds.]

[All the above funds have additional usage conditions. Please confirm before using.]

Hearing the broadcast, Jiao Hai was somewhat annoyed, ”What does this mean! Playing with us, right? Not giving it earlier or later, but giving it now!”

For those three players who smoothly passed the first map, it didn’t really matter.

But for Fu Chen, Shen Xing, and Jiao Hai, these three players who just barely failed to pass the first map, this was very darkly humorous.

Giving funds at this time meant that if they chose ’punishment’ first then challenged ’track in the picture,’ they could just obtain additional funds before starting the challenge and perform two additional modifications on their car pens.

In that case, the results might have been completely different.

But inner field players didn’t know whether there would be additional funds or when the funds would arrive.

Everyone temporarily didn’t look at the funds but continued watching Chen Ran’s situation in the room.

...

After taking her seat, the game officially began.

The surveillance puppet began moving irregularly in the room. The route and speed were both inconstant, sometimes fast and sometimes slow, and it would also suddenly turn to look in a specific direction.

Chen Ran saw the surveillance puppet pass by her and hurriedly reached out to press the button on the table.

According to the rules, if she couldn’t cumulatively press this button for 3 minutes within 5 minutes, she would be judged as game failure and suffer instant death penalty.

However, after pressing for only three seconds, the surveillance puppet that had just passed by her suddenly turned around and stared straight at her!

”Smack!”

The mechanical arm swung the whip, fiercely striking Chen Ran’s shoulder.

”Ah!”

Chen Ran screamed and hurriedly released her hand.

The surveillance puppet stared at her for another two seconds before turning to leave, continuing to patrol the room at varying speeds.

The players outside the room all felt their shoulders phantom ache.

Although they couldn’t see very clearly through the transparent glass on the door, judging from Chen Ran’s reaction, this strike landed solidly and must have been very painful.

However, painful as it was, Chen Ran’s shoulder wasn’t particularly seriously injured and could still move normally.

After waiting a few more seconds and observing that the surveillance puppet had temporarily gone far away, Chen Ran risked pressing the button again while staring at the surveillance puppet.

She watched anxiously, but this time her luck seemed better. The surveillance puppet never looked this way and instead circled around one of the tables near a corner.

Good luck. Chen Ran instinctively glanced at the time. This time she continuously pressed for over ten seconds.

However, just as she became slightly distracted, the surveillance puppet suddenly turned and quickly moved over.

”Smack!”

The mechanical arm swung the whip, this time striking Chen Ran’s back.

Chen Ran shuddered, but this time she seemed to have been mentally prepared in advance. She didn’t make a sound but withdrew her hand while tensing her back, taking the hit.

But unlike the previous time, Chen Ran didn’t wait for the surveillance puppet to move far away. Instead, the instant it turned around, she directly pressed the button.
