God's Imitator

During the last dividend distribution process, many players had obtained duplicate cards again. They had no other choice but to list them in the ‘Auction Tycoon’ room.

This also meant that ‘Auction Tycoon’ had become the place with the most abundant supply of Death Immunity Cards in this game hall.

Some players imitated Chen Guangming’s approach and sold game station usage rights. They had enough points and could choose to list cards or chips from other rooms on the ‘Auction Terminal.’ After buyers purchased them, they would let the buyers use the game station for a period of time.

Those players who were still missing one Death Immunity Card up to this point would be willing to pay an additional cost for such an opportunity.

Although judging from the situation in this game hall, they had a high probability of ranking at the bottom, after all, this game still had many other game halls, and the situation in each hall was different.

What if there were many players in other halls who hadn’t gathered enough cards?

So they were still willing to pay a lot of visa time for that last card.

Unlike the lifeless situation in other game rooms, the players in ‘Auction Tycoon’ were still playing enthusiastically and continuously conducting transactions.

It was as if this was the real game hall.

...Xu Zhao had completely lost hope. Chen Guangming’s plan had failed, so naturally, all the previous promises no longer counted.

He was considering whether to find Qi Fan and try to persuade them as much as possible to play in Chess Endgame.

At least finish off the remaining dividends. This way, Xu Zhao as a God’s Imitator would still have a chance of survival.

But clearly, judging from Qi Fan and the others’ current attitude, they had chosen ”not to move.”

Because their early profits were decent. If they entered ‘Chess Endgame’ to play, only half the people would see their profits increase, while the other half would see their profits decrease.

Players whose profits decreased would bear a great death risk.

In this situation, no one was willing to become the half of players whose profits decreased.

Having both sides agree to take turns winning chess games was also unrealistic because this game room was negative-sum.

Moreover, the small group these players formed was organized by Chen Guangming. With Chen Guangming abandoning them, the entire small group had already fallen apart and couldn’t trust each other.

So even if Xu Zhao went to find Qi Fan and the others wanting to persuade them to enter ‘Chess Endgame’ to continue playing, he would most likely fail.

Just then, Lin Sizhi leisurely came before him.

”You look a bit troubled. Need help?”

Xu Zhao looked at Lin Sizhi very warily, somewhat unclear about what the other party meant.

Help?

Would he really be so kind-hearted?

Up to this point, Xu Zhao had been very certain that Lin Sizhi was someone more dangerous than Chen Guangming, having found the optimal solution in this game hall from the very beginning.

Although when dealing with other players, Lin Sizhi seemed friendlier than Chen Guangming, Xu Zhao himself was a player from Community 15, which was already in an adversarial relationship with Community 17.

In this game, the two of them had been on opposing sides from the start.

At this point, the situation in the game was more or less settled and nearing its end. Xu Zhao couldn’t think of any reason why Lin Sizhi would come help him.

Lin Sizhi looked at the game time and said unhurriedly, ”I noticed that you and Chen Guangming established cooperation the earliest.

”He seems to trust you relatively, and you’ve also been very resolutely executing his orders.

”Logically speaking, you didn’t enter the ’Shelter Game,’ and you hadn’t dealt with Chen Guangming before, so you shouldn’t have any basis for cooperation.

”So your cooperation is most likely a strong-weak model. Does he have some kind of leverage over you?

”I do have some guesses, but I’d still prefer you to say it yourself.

”If you’re sincere enough, the price Chen Guangming offered you for cooperation, I can give the same, or even more.

”How about it? Want to consider it?”

Xu Zhao looked at Lin Sizhi with some surprise, his expression somewhat uncertain.

Was this trying to extract information, or did he genuinely want to cooperate?

But clearly, the game strategy Lin Sizhi had displayed from the beginning was fundamentally different from Chen Guangming’s.

Chen Guangming would calculate profits down to every single point. Even if a certain strategy didn’t yield particularly high profits for him, as long as there were clear profits, he would definitely do it.

But the strategy Lin Sizhi displayed was not like this.

So if these words came from Chen Guangming, it would most likely be to extract information.

But if it was Lin Sizhi, this probability was much lower.

Because Lin Sizhi very likely didn’t care about these insignificant profits.

Thinking of this, Xu Zhao sighed and prepared to take a gamble.

”I’m the God’s Imitator of ’Chess Endgame.’”

Lin Sizhi was not surprised by this. He seemed to have already guessed this possibility.

He was also very satisfied with Xu Zhao’s answer.

”As expected, I guessed correctly. God’s Imitators also have assessment tasks in this game.

”What’s the specific task?”

Xu Zhao answered honestly, ”Earn a certain amount of visa time.”

Lin Sizhi nodded. ”I can go with you to ’Chess Endgame’ to farm matches until the game ends and earn the remaining dividends, trying to get your profits to meet the standard as much as possible.”

Xu Zhao didn’t feel very happy. He asked, ”So, what’s the price?”

Lin Sizhi smiled and said, ”Just a bit of trivial information.

”Playing chess is very boring. I’d like to hear some gossip about Community 15. That’s reasonable, right?”

Xu Zhao was silent for a moment. ”But how can you determine the truth or falsehood of this information?

”Our two communities can now be viewed as adversarial. From the ’Shelter Game’ to ’Simple Q& A’ to this ’Self-Selected Game,’ our two communities have basically been in an adversarial state.

”From Community 15’s standpoint, even if I decide to temporarily cooperate with you for short-term benefits, I’ll definitely hold back.”

Lin Sizhi was unconcerned. ”I actually think that stance is something that can change at any time.

”Are you standing on your own position? Or Community 15’s position? Or Wang Weidong’s position?

”These are three different situations.

”For me, there’s no such thing as ’a certain community’s position,’ because a community is composed of 12 players, and each player has their own position.

”The overall position of a community is constantly changing.

”For players in Community 17, the main conflict with Community 15 comes from Wang Weidong. As for the other players in Community 15, we don’t have any fundamental conflicts.

”My cooperation proposal includes some additional options, options that Wang Weidong cannot provide and that only players from other communities can provide.

”For example, the option to replace Wang Weidong.”

Xu Zhao’s eyelids twitched. Clearly, Lin Sizhi’s statement was very unexpected to him. This was a possibility he had never considered before.

After a moment of silence, he said noncommittally, ”But that’s very difficult, almost impossible.”

Lin Sizhi checked the time. ”Anything is possible in the Gallery.

”You’d better decide quickly. There isn’t much time left.”

Xu Zhao finally nodded. ”Deal.”
