God's Imitator

At the same time, Yang Yuting was also staring at the two screens in front of her, separately monitoring the situations of the ’inner field players’ and ’outer field players.’

On Fu Chen’s side, they were still working together to pull the chains. Although it had become somewhat difficult, there was no major problem for now, and the scene was basically in a static state.

So Yang Yuting focused her main attention on Zhou Guifen’s side.

As a spectator, Yang Yuting’s venue was a separate room with screens to observe both venues, a control panel, and some equipment exclusive to spectators.

But each spectator was in an individual booth with no means of communicating with each other.

Additionally, after entering the game, unlike ’King’s Judgment,’ the relevant rules for the spectator side weren’t directly announced. This might be because the game was still in the preliminary preparation stage and hadn’t officially begun yet.

Yang Yuting could only roughly confirm one piece of information, there were very likely 20 spectators in this game.

Because on one wall there were 20 different small screens. Although they hadn’t displayed specific information yet, they were most likely related to some special function for spectators.

Yang Yuting’s room had a numerical designation ’16,’ which should mean she was spectator number 16.

Additionally, from the announced team pairings between ’inner field players’ and ’outer field players,’ a total of 11 communities participated in this game. Community 17 had two spectators selected, so the other communities should be in similar situations. This could also roughly match the data of ’20 spectators.’

Perhaps a few individual communities only had one spectator selected, but which specific communities couldn’t be confirmed.

As a spectator, Yang Yuting couldn’t do anything for now but still followed along thinking about the game content.

”From the current situation, there’s good news. Our community is the only one with two players selected.

”Could it be a coincidence? No, it might be an accident, after all, Auntie Zhou was recruited by us from Community 12.

”If we hadn’t recruited anyone, then Community 12 would have two players selected now.

”But this brings an additional benefit. Auntie Zhou might be able to serve as a bridge, which means we have a natural cooperative relationship with Fu Yujun from Community 10 and Shen Xing from Community 5.

”Speaking of which, the Gallery actually put together a parent-child game... These people clearly have family relationships...”

Actually, thinking about it now, this game had many hints before it started.

Whether it was the name ’Lifting Game’ or the spectator registration condition of ’limited to under 30 or over 50 years old,’ some clues could be seen.

After the team pairings were announced, the ’family relationships’ became even more obvious.

Jiao Hongtao and Jiao Hai, Fu Yujun and Fu Chen, Peng Hong and Peng Xinyuan, Liu Mingxin and Liu Jie. The first three pairs were clearly father and son, while Liu Mingxin’s pair was mother and daughter.

Because they all shared surnames, and some clues could be seen from their appearances as well.

Obviously, all the outer field players had already realized this.

When Wu Xiaomei urged others to stay calm and not change the established strategy, she wasn’t really trying to calm others down. After all, she was the most agitated one herself.

The reason she said this was simply because according to the original arrangement, she had secured the ’sports car’ and would most likely win it after spending 30,000 in funds.

Although the specific rules weren’t yet clear, according to common sense, there were two strategies that most likely wouldn’t have major problems.

One was to spend 30,000 in funds to bid for the ’sports car.’

The other was to spend 1 in funds to bid for the ’van’ while other players were bidding normally.

Whether other items were worthwhile depended on the specific bid price. For example, bidding 2 for the ’small cargo truck’ would be very worthwhile, but if everyone collided and you spent 30,000 in funds for the ’small cargo truck,’ that would be very uneconomical.

Wu Xiaomei had already realized that other players would most likely also mindlessly bid 30,000 to compete for the ’sports car,’ so she tried to persuade everyone to continue bidding according to the original strategy.

But obviously, this was impossible.

From Peng Hong’s attitude, he had already changed his mind. Most likely he wouldn’t bid for the originally planned pickup truck anymore but would choose to directly use 30,000 in funds to compete for the sports car.

According to Fu Yujun’s initial analysis, this was clearly an irrational strategy.

If everyone thought this way, everyone would bid 30,000, then get shocked together, but ultimately some people would still obtain relatively inferior items.

But the situation was special now.

If the teamed inner field player was a stranger or a player from the same community, Fu Yujun’s strategy would most likely work, after all, it was a better choice from a rational perspective.

But the inner field player was their own child.

Even knowing it was uneconomical, even knowing they would most likely be shocked, the vast majority of parents would still find it hard to remain rational in this situation. They would still want to fight for the best items for their children.

If they bid and were eliminated in the electric shock, they could only say it couldn’t be helped.

But if they didn’t bid from the start and let better car pens go to others, emotionally it would be very hard to accept.

Even if the saved funds could play a role in the subsequent game process.

”Auntie Zhou, stay calm...”

Yang Yuting silently prayed.

If she could send suggestions, she would definitely suggest Zhou Guifen bid 2,000 in funds.

The reason was simple. Among the six outer field players, three or even more players would most likely choose to directly bid 30,000 to compete for the ’sports car.’

In this situation, forcing the competition would absolutely be irrational.

Since that’s the case, it would be better to do the opposite and consider how to spend as little funds as possible.

If a player chose to bid 1 in funds, then using 2 in funds could definitely secure the 5th tier small cargo truck.

If players separately bid 1 and 2 in funds, then using 3 in funds could definitely secure the 4th tier pickup truck.

If you bid 3 in funds for the pickup truck while the players ahead invested 30,000 in funds but lost in the electric shock phase and only got the SUV, that would be the most perfect situation.

Of course, this thinking was somewhat too idealistic because players bidding 1 and 2 in funds could most likely think of this too.

This was somewhat like multi-layered game theory logic. Without knowing the other outer field players’ personalities, they could only rely on luck.

So Yang Yuting would lean toward bidding 2,000 in funds, whatever she got would be what it was.

But she had no way to give suggestions, so she could only watch.

...

The bidding time lasted 5 minutes but gave people a very long feeling.

Several outer field players each stood in front of their control panels, sometimes lowering their heads in thought, sometimes bidding, sometimes looking at other players.

But the significance of these behaviors wasn’t great because they couldn’t see the numbers on others’ control panels.

Through the screen, Yang Yuting saw that some players, including Jiao Hongtao and Peng Hong, had pressed the numbers on their control panels more than once.

Although she didn’t know these people’s specific bids, using the control panel multiple times was obviously not a good sign.

According to the game rules, during the bidding period, players could increase their bids at any time but couldn’t cancel or reduce their bids.

This was also a trap, not too big or small. Once a player gave a bid of over 20,000, they would very likely continue increasing funds due to sunk cost, ultimately reaching 30,000.

Because they would unconsciously consider the worst case, what if I bid 20,000 while other players all bid 30,000?

Since that’s the case, it would be better to add a little more and try to compete for the best ’sports car.’

What if they won it?

The shorter the thinking time, the more easily certain players would go ’all in’ in a moment of passion. This was human instinct. Resisting this instinct required quite strong rationality.

Soon, the countdown ended.
