God's Imitator

Li Renshu felt the atmosphere was somewhat heavy. After thinking for a moment, she tried to ease the mood.

”I actually think there’s nothing wrong with being cautious about similar issues. It’s normal for everyone to have doubts.

”We don’t need to set such a strict deadline for discussing this issue. We’ll still have time later.”

But Cai Zhiyuan shook his head. His attitude was more resolute than everyone had anticipated.

”No, I believe dragging this issue out indefinitely is meaningless.

”Because each time we propose a new motion, each time we hold such meetings and discussions, each time we seek the boundaries of each other’s interests through collision, these things are not without cost.

”On the surface, when we’re not playing games, we have nothing to do in the community and seem to have plenty of time to discuss these issues.

”But discussing such issues actually also has a serious problem of ’diminishing marginal returns.’

”Simply put, for similar issues, reaching consensus also has an ’optimal time.’

”If it’s less than this optimal time, the issue isn’t discussed sufficiently and will bury hidden dangers for the community. This is certainly one consideration. But on the other hand, once this optimal time is exceeded, discussion becomes meaningless repetition and talking to oneself.”Because some issues can never reach complete consensus and must be resolved by cutting the Gordian knot.

”The ’voting mechanism’ in the community is meant to be used at times like this.

”Continuing to discuss endlessly has no meaning other than wasting everyone’s time and making things increasingly complicated.

”I believe that regarding ’donating to the community fund,’ we’ve pretty much reached this time.

”Continuing to discuss will only be repetitively rehashing the same points. Those who agree will still agree, and those who oppose will still oppose.

”For me personally, whether it’s ’default donation for all members’ or ’completely voluntary donation for all members,’ both are acceptable.

”But I cannot accept spending more time on this issue.

”If we still can’t provide a clear plan this time, then next time I won’t participate in similar meetings, because there’s no point.”

Cai Zhiyuan paused slightly and continued, ”Some players might think that although players participating in the backstop pay out visa time, they gain greater voice in the community and are the side that benefits more.

”Other players might think that players receiving dividends can’t use the voice anyway, and dividends can steadily obtain additional returns, making them the side that benefits more.

”So everyone can choose for themselves whether to provide a backstop for dividends or receive dividends.

”Players who were originally unwilling to donate can have priority in choosing on this issue. They can replace me or Fu Chen and provide the backstop for dividends themselves.

”Or if they think the dividends are too low, they can consider raising them according to specific rules.

”But the one thing we can’t do is continue dragging this out.”

Everyone fell into silence.

After considering for a while longer, Li Renshu looked at Qin Yao, ”Tell us your thoughts. After all, you also represent the views of some players.”

Qin Yao thought for a moment, ”I... agree with this motion and am willing to donate visa time.”

Li Renshu said as gently as possible, ”It’s okay. Just say your true thoughts. You don’t have to consider other people’s feelings.”

Qin Yao nodded, ”Mm, this is my own thought.

”In this game, I truly received help from the suggestions Yinzhang provided, and this function was provided by the ’First Player Identity Card.’

”Although the identity card might not be available for all players to use, functions like ’providing suggestions’ will indeed benefit all players.

”My thinking is the same as Yinzhang’s: since I’ve already received help from special items, I should naturally also bear responsibility.”

Dai Yifan raised his hand and said, ”On this issue, I agree with Brother Cai’s view.

”This issue has been discussed as much as it should be. If there are still people who disagree, are we going to keep discussing it forever?

”Let me give an example. Suppose now the vast majority of players in the community recognize this and donate visa time, but only one player disagrees and doesn’t donate.

”At this time, from that player’s perspective, the other 11 people in the community are forcing donations together.

”But from the perspective of the other 11 people in the community, isn’t this also him freeloading off community benefits?

”Suppose, let’s be extreme, we don’t let him use either survival tickets or identity cards. But what if later activated items include those that passively and continuously affect all members?

”So I think major decisions related to the community like this couldn’t possibly accommodate all players’ views anyway. As long as the voting results aren’t too skewed, it’s fine.

”If you think the dividends are low, we can see later if we can raise them. If you don’t want to receive dividends and want to provide a backstop for them, that’s of course fine too. Just change the personnel.

”Anyway, I think these conditions are already very good. Whether it’s Brother Wang, Brother Cai, or Sister Li, thinking up these plans was also very hard work for them. As long as it’s a decent plan, we should pass it. Always nitpicking while being unable to propose a better plan yourself, that’s a very infantile behavior.

”Anyway, I think this plan is feasible, and I’m willing to deposit all my excess visa time going forward.

”If there are suitable opportunities in the future, these dividends can be appropriately raised a bit.

”But the prerequisite is that everyone truly recognizes this system and more actively and enthusiastically earns visa time for the community.”

After serious consideration, Li Renshu said, ”How about this? I’ll add two more supplements to this motion. Think about whether they’re appropriate.

”The first supplement addresses ’how much visa time players should specifically keep on them.’

”Brother Wang’s previous suggestion was 50,000, but I think 50,000 is still a bit too little. We can’t rule out that future games might have places requiring more visa time.

”I think setting it at 80,000 is more appropriate.

”That is to say, if the visa time on a player is less than 50,000, they can withdraw visa time from the community fund.

”For the six players receiving dividends, when the visa time on them exceeds 80,000, deposit the excess into the community fund.

”For the six players providing a backstop for dividends, they can keep an extra 20,000. That is, when the visa time on them exceeds 100,000, deposit the excess into the community fund.

”This extra 20,000 carried, on one hand, considers that players like Brother Wang and Lawyer Lin might need more visa time if they need to make larger moves in games.

”On the other hand, it leaves a portion to backstop dividends, avoiding situations where dividends are insufficient.

”Second, we’ll roughly set a baseline for community returns. Within this baseline, dividends default to 5%.

”If in the course of subsequent games, the entire community’s returns exceed this baseline by 20%, then dividends increase by 1%.

”That is to say, regardless of returns, dividends will always have a 5% guarantee. The more visa time the community earns in the future, the higher the dividends will correspondingly be.

”If this motion cannot pass, then we will no longer discuss any mandatory donation motions. We’ll simply establish by rule that henceforth, donations to the fund will forever adopt a completely voluntary approach.

”Regardless of the outcome, we will respect the results of the community vote. We’ll put this issue to rest here.”
