God's Imitator

Yang Yuting originally thought Cai Zhiyuan had the same plan as her, preparing to find a few books to read before the next game started and cram at the last minute. But unexpectedly, Cai Zhiyuan walked straight toward her.

”There are a few issues I’d like to talk to you about privately.”

Yang Yuting was somewhat surprised because she hadn’t previously felt there was any need for her and Cai Zhiyuan to talk privately.

From an ecological niche perspective, they were both ”advisor” types. It was just that Cai Zhiyuan stood on Li Renshu’s side, while Yang Yuting naturally leaned toward Wang Yongxin.

In terms of philosophy, Cai Zhiyuan had always been in opposition to Wang Yongxin.

Moreover, at this time, both of them wanted to compete to become the third game core, putting them in direct competition.

But after briefly considering, Yang Yuting still nodded, ”Alright.”

She also wanted to know what exactly Cai Zhiyuan planned to discuss.

The two found a private room nearby in the library area and entered.

...”I can effectively withdraw from the competition for the third game core.

”If the next game is a judgment-type game, I won’t actively sign up to participate.

”As long as you’re willing to enter and help players from the same community as much as possible, it will be enough to erase the gap from the previous two games.

”In subsequent discussions, as long as I don’t appear too enthusiastic, you’ll have a high probability of obtaining this position.”

Cai Zhiyuan didn’t beat around the bush and directly expressed his viewpoint straightforwardly.

Yang Yuting was stunned, then fell into thought.

Obviously, this plan Cai Zhiyuan described was quite feasible.

Although Cai Zhiyuan had completely dominated in the previous two games, judgment-type games were quite special. ”Daring to enter judgment games to help players from the same community” would be a major plus.

The reason Fu Chen gained recognition from many people was because he had this kind of courage in the vast majority of situations.

If in the next judgment game Yang Yuting actively entered while Cai Zhiyuan gave up, then as long as Yang Yuting played some role and helped the players who were forced to enter after going in, she could win a lot of goodwill.

Afterward, when discussing specifically who should become the core, there would be room for negotiation.

Wang Yongxin would definitely stand on her side anyway. If Cai Zhiyuan consciously made concessions and cooperated, the possibility of Yang Yuting becoming the next game core would indeed greatly increase.

But the only question was, why would Cai Zhiyuan do this?

Yang Yuting was somewhat puzzled, ”If you don’t want to become a game core, why did you sign up to run in the first place?

”Are you telling me this because you want to exchange it for some additional conditions?

”Otherwise, you could just quietly withdraw. There’s no need to come discuss it with me.”

Cai Zhiyuan nodded, ”I do want to ’negotiate cooperation’ with you.

”Before that, let me briefly explain: Actually, I don’t want to become a game core, and I don’t want to lead the team.

”Because my ecological niche in the community is already very stable. There’s no need to take on more responsibility.

”But after the community lost Officer Cao, in order to stabilize the community’s situation, Li Renshu and I had to demonstrate certain capabilities and make corresponding contributions.

”Since my luck was good in the previous two games and I’ve already proven my abilities, that’s already enough. Whether or not I actually become the in-game core makes no essential difference to me.

”On the contrary, I think if you become the in-game core, it might be better for the community’s ecology.”

Yang Yuting didn’t quite understand, ”Better for the community’s ecology?”

Cai Zhiyuan explained, ”Simply put, this is the condition I want to ’negotiate cooperation’ on: I’ll give up the third game core position, and correspondingly, you’ll take on the role of ’the main opposition in the community.’”

Yang Yuting’s brows furrowed slightly. She vaguely thought of something but wasn’t quite certain.

Cai Zhiyuan obviously didn’t want to speak in riddles and said straightforwardly, ”You should have also noticed that after Wang Yongxin entered the five-person group, the atmosphere within the community inevitably underwent some changes.

”Because the ’opposition within the community’ disappeared.

”Aside from the five-person group, the remaining players actually each have closer relationships with one or two players within the five-person group. Right now, the entire community is actually in a vertically divided state.

”So motions proposed afterward have basically all passed smoothly without much resistance.

”But this state is actually unhealthy. It causes ’opponents’ to not dare openly express their opinions. Their voices are ignored long-term, which could have some hidden dangers.

”Someone should reorganize them.”

Yang Yuting lowered her head and thought for a moment before saying, ”The change in the community’s ecology, I’ve sensed that.

”But aren’t you yourself one of the community’s five-person group? So the expansion of management power and increase in benefits should only have advantages and no disadvantages for you, right?

”Having me become the opposition now and rally ordinary players, what benefit does that have for you?”

Cai Zhiyuan explained, ”Interests and voice in the community are insufficient to distribute, so there will always be some groups whose interests are damaged.

”The expansion of management power is a good thing in the short term, but from a long-term perspective, it will bury significant hidden dangers.

”Because dissatisfaction accumulates, and when this dissatisfaction accumulates to a certain degree, variables may occur.

”Although ordinary players within the community currently appear insufficient in capability and are in a scattered state, posing no threat for now, what if at some future point in time, our community happens to recruit a new member similar to Chen Guangming?

”He would quickly realize the weaknesses in the community’s ecology and rapidly utilize this dissatisfaction to organize ordinary players.

”And once that situation occurs, it could very likely become uncontrollable.

”So it’s better to plan ahead and first select a reliable ’opposition’ ourselves.

”Actually, this kind of operation is very common in some political systems.

”Those who hold real power themselves support an opposition party and occupy that ecological niche. Then afterward, other opposition forces will find it difficult to gain traction, which is equivalent to eliminating hidden dangers.”

Yang Yuting still found it somewhat hard to believe. After serious consideration, she asked, ”Is this the idea you five discussed together?”

Cai Zhiyuan shook his head, ”No, this is merely my personal idea.

”Actually, others’ thoughts aren’t hard to guess: Lawyer Lin definitely doesn’t care either way. Wang Yongxin would inevitably oppose. Fu Chen can’t understand such complicated matters. As for Li Renshu... she can neither clearly support nor clearly oppose such things, so asking her would be redundant.

”Ultimately, this matter actually has nothing to do with the five-person group. Whether or not to become the ’opposition’ mainly depends on your own thoughts.

”You’re the only suitable candidate, and I believe you’ll agree.”
