God's Imitator

Cheng Wen was speechless for a moment.

Clearly, Lin Sizhi had listed these Death Immunity Cards without any real intention of selling them.

Because aside from the very few players like He Xiaojun who were already in the room, other players simply didn’t have enough chips.

Even if they went to the chip exchange counter to exchange, it would still take time.

Lin Sizhi deliberately listed these Death Immunity Cards to give the new players entering the room a certain illusion: that the quantity of Death Immunity Cards in this room was relatively abundant.

This way they would more actively exchange chips and play games in this room.

But if they actually sold at this price, Lin Sizhi himself would lose out considerably. As a player, his methods for obtaining profits weren’t fundamentally different from other players.

After other players exchanged visa time for chips and came to purchase, but saw that these cards had already sold out, they wouldn’t realize they’d been tricked.

Because many players were competing for them. Not getting them was normal; getting them would be the surprise.

These players who failed to buy Death Immunity Cards but had exchanged chips had essentially incurred sunk costs, so they could only continue playing in the room and wait for the next dividend distribution to earn back this visa time.Of course, to implement this plan, Lin Sizhi still needed to coordinate with Cheng Wen.

If he listed cards himself and then canceled them, the auction house would display ”Auction Canceled” rather than ”Transaction Completed,” which might arouse some players’ suspicions.

So he and Cheng Wen purchased each other’s cards.

Because although the auction house would continue to display completed transaction records, it wouldn’t record specifically who listed them and who bought them.

Before other players could purchase them, the two gradually bought back each other’s Death Immunity Cards. Even if other players saw the Death Immunity Cards in the auction house gradually decreasing, they would only think that other players who earned chips faster than themselves had gotten there first.

Seeing such frequent transactions of Death Immunity Cards would instead stimulate them to earn chips more earnestly, or also list their own duplicate cards for auction in this room.

The players newly flooding into the ‘Auction Tycoon’ room failed to buy Death Immunity Cards, but since they had already exchanged chips, they might as well continue playing here until the next dividend distribution.

During this period, if they could confirm that this room still had dividends, that the chip value could remain stable, and that new Death Immunity Cards continued appearing in the auction house, then they would continue playing in this room until the game ended.

...

At the same time, Chen Guangming was also constantly observing the situation in ‘Auction Tycoon.’

Qi Fan’s expression was somewhat grave. ”That person is very strong. I already told you that before.”

Among these four players, only Qi Fan had actually played games together with Lin Sizhi, so he had the highest level of vigilance toward Lin Sizhi.

He had naturally warned Chen Guangming very early on.

However, among these four players, the one who truly made decisions was Chen Guangming, followed by Xu Zhao and Qi Fan.

Chen Guangming couldn’t change his plan just because of a simple warning from Qi Fan.

There were too many players who performed well in distribution-type games. Chen Guangming couldn’t treat it as a major threat just because Lin Sizhi had once earned a lot of visa time in ‘Conglomerate Nation.’

After all, those relatively strong communities would have at least one or two people of similar ability.

Moreover, in this game, Lin Sizhi had been very low-key from start to finish. After earning the first wave of profits in ‘Sea Minesweeper,’ he had been holed up in the ‘Auction Tycoon’ game room the whole time, without much presence.

He neither made a big show of recruiting other players, nor exchanged large amounts of profits.

Chen Guangming believed that the ‘Auction Tycoon’ room had more problems and flaws than ‘Equipment Forging,’ and there was no need to compete for it, so he focused on executing his own plan.

But now, since Lin Sizhi had already launched an attack, it meant his layout had also been completed.

Ma Chengye was somewhat at a loss. ”What should we do?”

Quite a few players had gone to ‘Auction Tycoon,’ causing their business to stagnate. Not many people were coming to buy game station usage rights anymore.

Seeing that Chen Guangming wasn’t speaking, Xu Zhao considered for a moment and spoke up, ”Don’t panic yet. He just used the method of earning stable profits to temporarily trick some players over.

”But it’s most likely impossible to sustain until the game ends.

”Because the ’Auction Tycoon’ room is different from ’Equipment Forging.’ There will most likely be chip currency inflation, causing the exchangeable visa time to drop significantly.

”Moreover, the game has progressed to this point. Other game rooms should have no dividends left. ’Auction Tycoon’ should be the same.

”With chip inflation plus exhausted dividends, players shouldn’t stay in that room for long. They’ll come back.”

However, Chen Guangming shook his head slightly. ”But there’s also a certain probability that the room neither exhausts its dividends nor experiences currency inflation, but will continue maintaining the high position of 1:1 exchange for visa time.”

Xu Zhao was stunned for a moment. ”Why?”

Chen Guangming didn’t answer but quickly made a decision after considering. ”Xu Zhao, come with me to ’Auction Tycoon.’

”Everyone else, continue staying in the ’Equipment Forging’ room to earn profits and occupy the game stations.

”The two of us will go check the situation in ’Auction Tycoon.’ If necessary, we’ll call all of you over.”

...

Chen Guangming brought Xu Zhao and quickly came to ‘Auction Tycoon.’ After waiting for a moment, they found an empty game station and immediately went forward to occupy it.

While Xu Zhao continued waiting, he frowned in thought.

Originally, he believed that the ‘Auction Tycoon’ room posed no threat. Even if Cheng Wen announced the method for stably earning chips, it would be meaningless.

Because this room would definitely experience chip currency inflation similar to ‘Compare Sizes.’

The reason was simple: these rooms all lacked good chip consumption mechanisms.

Take ‘Compare Sizes’ for example. Because there was no rake and there was a positive-sum method for stably producing chips, the total number of chips in the room would definitely keep increasing.

Transaction taxes, in themselves, were a means of restricting currency inflation.

Most players weren’t very willing to directly trade Death Immunity Cards using visa time, because deducting taxes with visa time was a pure loss.

But if they traded using room chips, then a fixed proportion of chips would be automatically consumed due to transaction taxes.

With everyone collectively consuming a portion of chips, the profits obtained during dividend distribution wouldn’t change too drastically.

This way, the general stability of the room’s chip value could be maintained.

It didn’t need to always stay at a high position, as long as it didn’t depreciate too quickly.

But clearly, the transaction tax in the ‘Compare Sizes’ room was set too low, only 10%.

This caused the ‘Compare Sizes’ room chips to inflate the fastest, becoming less and less valuable.

This would also severely reduce players’ willingness to play in this room.
