God's Imitator

Everyone looked toward Cai Zhiyuan.

Cai Zhiyuan explained, ”After I saw the ’Auction Tycoon’ room, I realized this room had great potential.

”Its chips had the potential to replace visa time and become the hard currency of the entire hall.

”So I also entered this room very early, attempting to find stable returns.”

Zheng Jie was stunned, ”Wait, Brother Cai, why did you think after seeing the room rules that its chips could potentially replace visa time as hard currency? How did you figure that out?”

Cai Zhiyuan explained, ”Many players might be discouraged by this room’s 100% transaction tax, but this point actually caught my attention.

”No matter how foolish a God’s Imitator is, they couldn’t fail to understand this point, so this was most likely intentional.

”Although a 100% transaction tax has many drawbacks, it also has benefits: this means the survival cards and chips produced in the room cannot circulate through the external ’Auction Terminal,’ but can only circulate within the room.

”So my second step was to try to find within the rules a method to ’suppress chip inflation.’

”If I couldn’t find such a method, then the room’s rules would be problematic and not worth wasting much time on. Conversely, if there was such a method and it was stable and reliable, then this room’s chips could retain their value well.”Later I discovered that the method for consuming chips in this room was simply the most perfect method.”

Zheng Jie was somewhat surprised, ”Brother Cai, you mean players convert part of their chips into points, then use the points to bid for exclusive use rights of the auction tables?

”This can indeed consume chips, but isn’t this purely voluntary for players? What if players don’t consume them?

”From the rules, this room has many more game tables than ’Equipment Forging.’”

Cai Zhiyuan explained, ”Just as Yinzhang analyzed before, almost all smart God’s Imitators realized the problem of chip inflation would occur, so they must establish some rule to consume chips in order to maintain price stability within the room.

”The simplest method is to raise the rake and transaction tax, but this approach is too crude and easily triggers player resentment. They’ll find ways to avoid it.

”The approach of ’Equipment Forging’ is to additionally create a mechanism that forces chip consumption and strongly bind it to the underlying game mechanism of ’survival cards.’

”This can indeed achieve the purpose of consuming chips, but its problem is that it’s relatively inflexible and can’t be adjusted according to circumstances at all times.

”So sometimes this room consumes too many chips, causing the exchange ratio to only maintain at 1:1, and dividends can’t be consumed at the fastest speed. Sometimes chip consumption is insufficient, and the room still experiences inflation.

”But the approach of ’Auction Tycoon’ is a very flexible method.

”At the beginning, when there are fewer players in the game and the game tables aren’t full, almost no one will choose to convert chips into points. At this time, they can exchange for as many dividends as possible.

”As the number of players increases and the game tables become full, players will start spontaneously converting chips into points to compete for exclusive rights to game tables.

”The more players there are, the more chips players have in their hands, and naturally the more points they’ll convert.

”So this is a dynamically adjusting mechanism.

”The actual situation in the game also confirms this: I was in this room the whole time and found that no matter how many people were in this room, the ratio of chips exchanged for visa time always remained at a high level, with no serious devaluation occurring.

”Not only that, this method has additional benefits: because the entire process is voluntary player behavior with no coercion, players won’t feel resentful or resistant.

”So even if ’Auction Tycoon’s’ function overlaps with the ’Auction Terminal’ and other sixth-layer games, players will most likely still ultimately choose ’Auction Tycoon.’

”Besides this, this room gives up enough profit, and the chips recovered through point consumption are also abundant enough. All of this can ensure the God’s Imitator will definitely have sufficient returns.”

Hearing this, everyone suddenly understood.

After all, most players hadn’t personally participated in this game, so it was difficult to see so many intricacies from just the basic rules.

After Cai Zhiyuan’s explanation, everyone realized that behind this game’s seemingly simple rules, there was actually quite brilliant thinking hidden.

Qin Yao raised a question, ”But I still have a question. Why must this game set the transaction tax at 100%?

”Why not 0%? 50%? Or 90%?

”No matter how the transaction tax is set, the mechanism you described should still function normally, right?

”Anyway, as long as this room’s mechanism can be established, it will inevitably usurp the function of the ’Auction Terminal.’ So why not just set the transaction tax to 0% to attract more players to enter?”

After considering for a moment, Wang Yongxin explained, ”That won’t work.

”The 100% transaction tax is actually to lock in all the chips and survival cards produced by this room, preventing them from circulating externally.

”Because the ’auction’ function has unlimited demand for chips and items.

”If the transaction tax is set to 0%, many players will definitely take the survival cards they obtain from this room to trade on the external ’Auction Terminal.’

”Similarly, many players will also see that ’Auction Tycoon’ chips are valuable and then sell them on the ’Auction Terminal.’ This would seriously affect this room’s internal economic circulation.

”By the same logic, transaction taxes of 50% or below would all produce similar problems.

”While transaction taxes from 50% to 90% could curb this problem, the information conveyed to players isn’t clear enough and could easily cause player misunderstandings.

”It’s difficult for players to immediately determine what the intention is behind setting such a high transaction tax in this room.

”But directly setting it to 100% will have a certain screening effect on players: letting those less intelligent players immediately reject this room, thereby providing space for smart players to implement strategies.

”After that, the 100% transaction tax will lock in all the chips and survival cards in this room. Players cannot sell them externally and can only achieve internal circulation within the room.

”The more players who join, the more players who are locked in, ultimately locking in all the players, returns, and cards in the entire game hall.

”The final result is, if certain God’s Imitators’ game rooms happen to be assigned together with ’Auction Tycoon,’ they can only pray for their own good fortune.”

Zheng Jie sighed, ”No wonder the God’s Imitators’ mortality rate this time was higher than expected...

”In your game halls, how many God’s Imitators died?”

Since players and God’s Imitators were separated when applying instant death penalties, rough statistics could be made.

For example, in the game hall where Lin Sizhi was located, there was one confirmed God’s Imitator death.

Everyone did a simple count. There were a total of 6 confirmed God’s Imitator deaths.

Obviously, the real death number was most likely higher than this.

Because it wasn’t clear whether any God’s Imitators died in Xu Tong’s room. Moreover, except for extremely rare cases like Wei Xinjian, other God’s Imitators should have also entered the game and might have already suffered death penalties as players before suffering instant death penalties as God’s Imitators.

So the actual death number was very likely higher.

But everyone wouldn’t feel happy about this. After all, those who died were probably the weaker God’s Imitators who didn’t pose much threat to the players anyway.

Li Renshu looked at everyone, ”Alright, let’s end this review here. Everyone worked hard. Go back and rest well.”
