God's Imitator

Zhou Guifen looked at the large screen.

On the inner field players’ side, the young people had already begun checking the usage and instructions of various equipment, and also seemed to be starting some simple exchanges.

However, this large screen only displayed images, didn’t broadcast sound, and couldn’t see some specific information either.

For instance, the rule introduction only mentioned the names of this equipment, but specific information such as usage, functions, and prices were all displayed on notice boards at the inner field equipment. Only inner field players could view them; outer field players had no way of knowing.

Just then, a broadcast sounded in the room again.

[Wu Xiaomei has signed the ’live and die together’ exclusive contract with Chen Ran, and will receive an additional 20,000 points of funds.]

All the other outer field players looked toward Wu Xiaomei, their expressions containing surprise, as well as confusion or anger.

But Wu Xiaomei showed no hesitation or conflicted expression. Her face even showed some calmness.

”Why are you all looking at me?

”If my daughter dies, what’s the point of me living?”Since we’re going to die together anyway, why wouldn’t I take the extra 20,000 in funds?”

The other outer field players looked at each other but ultimately said nothing.

Zhou Guifen didn’t know what to say, but she could understand Wu Xiaomei’s feelings.

After coming to the New World, she didn’t know what specific situation her child Shen Xing was in, but no matter what, they should still be living well in the real world, right?

It was precisely because of this hope that these people could survive in the New World.

But now, actually seeing their own child in the game was another matter.

Since they were no longer in reality and had come to the New World, there were basically two situations.

If they survived in the game, then although both sides were in different communities, they were both striving to live, so there was still the possibility of reunion.

If the child died in the game, that meant complete despair. What was the point of continuing to live like a walking corpse in the New World?

Better to suffer instant death penalty together and end it all.

Therefore, although Wu Xiaomei’s behavior affected almost all players in this game and further increased the degree of meaningless involution in the game, these parents still found it difficult to condemn her.

Things had come to this point. More and more people began thinking at their control panels whether to sign the ’live and die together’ contract.

Zhou Guifen also had to make this difficult choice.

Waiting time passed second by second.

...

At the same time, in the spectator lounge where Yang Yuting was located, the game rules for the spectator side also began broadcasting.

[Now announcing the game rules for ’spectators.’]

[In this game, ’spectators’ can perform two different operations.]

[Operation One: Betting]

[Spectators can bet a total of 20,000 to 50,000 minutes of visa time. (When remaining visa time is less than 20,000, all must be bet.)]

[Can bet on multiple inner field players. Bet amounts are arbitrary. Bets can be increased at any time but cannot be reduced or canceled.]

[Spectators must complete all betting before the fourth round ends. When the fifth round begins, betting will close.]

[At the end of the game, if any of the inner field players the spectator bet on survive, and the death count doesn’t exceed 1 person, they are considered a ’winner.’ Otherwise, they are considered a ’loser.’]

[All stakes bet by ’losers’ will be divided among ’winners.’]

[When dividing, the allocation amount during division will be additionally increased according to the following three conditions:]

[1. Earlier order of betting on surviving players.]

[2. Larger stake amounts bet on surviving players.]

[3. No deaths among bet-on inner field players.]

[Operation Two: Provide Funds]

[Each spectator will receive 30,000 points of funds for free. These funds are automatically provided and will not deduct any visa time.]

[Spectators similarly have two ways to use these funds:]

[1. Directly use funds to invest in specific equipment in the inner field. The specific method and effect are the same as ’outer field players.’]

[2. Can provide funds to a certain ’outer field player,’ minimum amount 1,000 points. At the same time, can convey their attitude to that player: ‘Approval’ or ‘Opposition.’]

[Special note: If a spectator fails to bet on any surviving inner field player, an additional penalty will be triggered: all visa time will be deducted and divided among all surviving ’inner field players’ and ’outer field players.’]

[When deducted visa time is less than 50,000, an additional 50,000 will be deducted, creating debt. After returning to the community, the debt must be paid within 48 hours, otherwise instant death penalty will be suffered.]

[Finally, please remember: Spectators cannot take the stage, but can still dedicate applause to wonderful performances.]

[The game is about to begin. Please prepare!]

...

The spectator side rules had also finished being introduced.

Obviously, there was an information gap between the three identities of ’inner field players,’ ’outer field players,’ and ’spectators.’

’Inner field players’ had the least information. They didn’t even know yet that the outer field players were actually their respective parents, nor did they know the actual team correspondence relationships.

At the same time, they were also the most dangerous. If either of the two challenges wasn’t completed, they could suffer instant death penalty.

There were additional rewards. At most they could obtain 100,000 minutes of visa time, but this required successfully passing all maps in ’track in the picture.’

This should be a relatively harsh condition because there were six maps total for the track. Passing three was needed to avoid death, and more than three were needed for additional rewards.

The death risk for ’outer field players’ mainly came from the ’live and die together’ agreement and the final ’public trial.’

But the premise of the public trial was that spectators guessed these players’ specific crimes. This was still quite difficult. Without announcing player files, Yang Yuting had no clue.

However, one point was worth noting: even if publicly tried, it was selecting the two players with the most ’guilty’ votes to impose instant death penalty, not instant death for all those exceeding a certain vote count.

This also meant that perhaps there was the possibility of dragging other players down.

As for spectators, they could freely bet and could also have a certain influence on inner field and outer field players, but this influence was very limited.

Yang Yuting couldn’t even send messages like in ’King’s Judgment.’ She could only express ‘Approval’ or ‘Opposition.’

Additionally, spectators in the process of betting on inner field players, if they bet wrong, might lose their bet, ranging from 20,000 to 50,000. What was worse was that if among the bet-on players there were no surviving players, all visa time would also be deducted.

It could be said that in the choice of betting, one had to be extremely cautious.

After the spectator side game rules finished being introduced, the original 10-minute time was almost up.

Yang Yuting could only quickly think about her strategy as a spectator while continuously monitoring the inner field and outer field situations in the game.
