God's Imitator

Yang Yuting was somewhat puzzled, ”So does that mean it’s actually you six people paying out of your own pockets to subsidize and provide dividends?”

Li Renshu shook her head, ”Not entirely. There will be other situations too.

”When players die unexpectedly, that will also supplement the dividends.

”Let’s continue with this example. Twelve players each donate 100,000 minutes of visa time. Now let’s assume that including Yinzhang, the six of us don’t participate in dividends and provide a backstop for them. Then the weekly dividend is 30,000 minutes of visa time.

”If one of these players dies, then the dividend becomes 25,000 minutes of visa time.

”After this player dies, the 100,000 minutes of visa time they originally deposited will automatically convert into dividends, which is just enough for the other five players to receive four weeks of dividends.

”If no players die within a month, that’s also something worth celebrating. Players who entered the game most likely obtained stable returns.

”Since there are stable returns, there’s no need to worry about dividends.

”Of course, there’s also a smaller possibility that players didn’t die after entering the game but incurred serious debt, like what happened to other communities in ’Simple Q& A.’

”In that case, we can only analyze the specific problem specifically. After all, no single motion can be absolutely perfect.”Yang Yuting was silent for a moment, ”So... this motion is ultimately meant to solve two problems.

”First is ’recovering visa time from deceased players.’

”Second is ’further clarifying voice in decisions and other benefit distributions.’”

Li Renshu nodded, ”Yes.

”Many players aren’t enthusiastic about depositing visa time, likely because ’voice in decisions’ is unimportant to them, or they believe that even if they obtain a ’voice in decisions,’ they won’t be able to use it.

”In other words, for different players within the community, even if they donate the same amount of visa time, the voice they gain is different.

”In this situation, players who gain more voice must make further concessions, meaning they provide a backstop for dividends.

”Of course, if other players also want to become backstop providers, this plan can be adjusted further.”

The hall temporarily fell into silence as everyone lowered their heads in thought.

Li Renshu had planned from the beginning to explain openly and honestly to all players, so she didn’t deliberately conceal anything and spoke very clearly.

Even for less intelligent players, it wasn’t difficult to understand.

Xu Tong’s death resulted in a large amount of visa time being taken by imitators and not remaining in the community. This was a loss for all players in the community.

As for why Xu Tong was unwilling to deposit her visa time, on one hand it was because this visa time might be consumed through purchasing special items, resulting in a reduction of personal wealth. On the other hand, it was also because in this process, players like Xu Tong couldn’t gain obvious voice in decisions from it.

Because voice in decisions was something that couldn’t be subdivided.

Players in the five-person group naturally had stronger voices. So even if Xu Tong and someone from the five-person group donated the same amount of visa time, when making decisions, the community would still tend more toward the other person’s opinion, and Xu Tong’s opinion would most likely be ignored.

The same logic applied to players like Qin Yao and Zheng Jie.

So for them, the optimal solution was to only donate a small amount of visa time as a token gesture. After all, no matter how much more they donated, it would still be difficult to gain sufficient voice.

A small tilt in voice would have weak perception and couldn’t possibly change the community’s original power structure.

Moreover, for these players, even if they possessed voice in decisions, they likely wouldn’t tend to use it, so that the same voice in their hands would be both meaningless and useless.

So this new motion provided a new solution: using dividends to buy them out.

In effect, it used dividends to redistribute benefits between two types of players like ’Wang Yongxin’ and ’Xu Tong,’ converting the scattered voice that players like ’Xu Tong’ originally couldn’t use into real visa time.

According to Li Renshu’s calculations, if 100,000 minutes of visa time were deposited, one could additionally receive around 2,500 to 5,000 minutes of visa time each week (depending on consumption).

Five thousand minutes was equivalent to approximately 3.5 days.

Of course, once deposited into the luxury goods fund, it could be spent at any time on purchasing various special items, causing both principal and dividends to shrink proportionally.

But each time special items were purchased, a meeting was basically held to gain the consent of most players, so spending was still relatively cautious.

Overall, for players depositing visa time, the new motion was indeed more attractive than the old plan.

Zheng Jie raised his hand and asked, ”So... after this new motion passes, will depositing and withdrawing visa time still be voluntary?”

Li Renshu nodded, ”Of course.

”If they’re unwilling to deposit, it’s still not mandatory. However, in that case, there’s no way to receive any dividends.”

Just then, Cai Zhiyuan, who hadn’t spoken before, spoke up.

”I actually have some unpleasant words that need to be said now.

”Of course, before that I still need to emphasize that these words don’t represent my personal views. I’m just helping everyone analyze the objective situation and putting certain things that some players are too embarrassed to say out in the open in advance.

”To avoid burying some misunderstandings in communication.

”Simply put, I believe this motion should be ’compulsory.’”

Cai Zhiyuan’s words surprised even Li Renshu.

Although she had previously checked with the other members of the five-person group, she had only confirmed the motion’s content and general direction. There definitely wasn’t time to reach complete consensus on the details.

However, Li Renshu didn’t interrupt immediately and instead listened silently.

Cai Zhiyuan continued, ”Since we first started ’depositing money into the community fund,’ we’ve already pushed through adjustments to the motion several times. The fundamental purpose has only been one thing: to encourage everyone to deposit more money.

”Because depositing more money can activate new items and strengthen the community’s capabilities.

”This represents two different development directions for the community:

”We can choose to fully lean toward the collective, depositing as much excess visa time as possible to activate various items with maximum efficiency. Or we can choose to fully lean toward the individual, with everyone playing their own game. As for the community, it’s purely a place for chatting and eating, maintaining maximum boundaries between each other.

”From the current situation, the former has advantages, but this isn’t absolute. If everyone wants to choose the latter, as long as enough votes are gathered, that’s also possible.

”But we must fully lean toward one of these options and can’t continue to hesitate and want both.

”Previously, we’ve continuously pushed through several motion adjustments, which has actually given everyone sufficient time to think and weigh their options.

”At this point now, everyone should have thought it through clearly. The ’voluntary’ plan has been in place for a long time, and we’ve also had the negative lesson of Xu Tong losing over a hundred thousand minutes of visa time. I think we’ve pretty much reached the critical juncture for the community to ’make a final decision.’

”I can also say nice words together with everyone, saying ’this motion still relies entirely on voluntariness and isn’t mandatory.’

”But frankly speaking, I can accept this motion not passing, but as long as it passes, I hope it will be ’compulsory.’

”No matter how special items are used, it’s very difficult to be absolutely fair.

”There’s only one fair way to use them: that is, no one has special items, and no one uses them.”
