God's Imitator

Players can play games on these small pinball machines by spending chips to purchase a certain number of pinballs and then launching them out.

Along the path of the pinballs, there are many steel pegs that will change the trajectory of the steel balls.

There is a small chance they will fall into certain ”double points” areas or ”bonus areas,” and if they do fall in, players can directly obtain chip rewards.

However, there is a high probability they won’t hit these direct reward areas and will ultimately only strike the cylindrical small sticks beneath the chip pyramid.

These small sticks, when hit at a specific angle and with specific force, will be knocked down. Furthermore, the entire playing surface is slightly tilted inward, so when enough pinballs accumulate, they will also exert pressure on these small sticks.

After enough small sticks are knocked down, the entire chip pyramid will collapse with a crash.

At that moment, the lucky player can claim all the chips.

‘Jump Platforms’ is also a very classic mini-game. The game table randomly generates platforms at different intervals, and players determine the jumping distance of the character on the platform based on how long they hold down the button. The more platforms jumped over, the more chips can be obtained.

However, there is one special rule: the game is divided into many chapters. When a player completes each chapter, they can choose to either claim all rewards and end the game, or double the reward and continue to the next chapter.

If they fail midway, they can only claim half of the previous rewards and leave. After looking at the names of these game rooms, Li Renshu looked at Dai Yifan, ”The injuries on your body should have been caused in the ’Endure Pain’ room, right?”

Dai Yifan nodded, ”Yes.”

Wang Yongxin frowned slightly, ”The God’s Imitator who designed this game room really isn’t afraid of death.

”Compared to other game types, this kind of game has absolutely no appeal. After all, there aren’t that many players like Dai Yifan who are willing to be ruthless to themselves.

”If there aren’t enough players entering this room, wouldn’t the God’s Imitator be doomed?”

Wei Xinjian thought for a moment and shook his head slightly, ”That’s not necessarily true. The God’s Imitator of this room obviously has his own considerations.

”He at least considered one thing: the ’screening mechanism’ itself is part of the game design strategy.

”For example, the rules of ’Sea Minesweeper’ actually also have a hidden screening mechanism.

”This screening mechanism itself is also a way to solve the ’chip inflation’ problem. If he can screen out sufficiently suitable players and ensure they play enough rounds of the game, then the God’s Imitator can still ensure his own profit.”

Everyone thought seriously for a moment and nodded one after another.

Wei Xinjian had already explained the corresponding principle before, so it wasn’t difficult to understand.

The reason why games like ‘Compare Sizes’ have insufficient returns is because they rely too heavily on transaction taxes rather than rake, while also lacking ways to consume chips. With too many players entering, the inevitable result is chip inflation, which severely dampens players’ willingness to play.

This is a series of chain reactions, but actually not difficult to solve.

If the God’s Imitator has the corresponding awareness, then cutting off one link in the chain would suffice.

They could increase the rake to earn stable income or add more chip consumption methods.

Of course, they could also set entry barriers for the game, only allowing a small number of players to enter and obtain profits, which would similarly suppress inflation.

Because this can greatly extend these players’ willingness to play, allowing them to steadily earn chips and obtain profits in the game room, while also ensuring the ecological stability of the entire room.

After all, the underlying logic of these game rooms is for the God’s Imitator to distribute at least 150,000 in dividends to the players as much as possible, while earning their own share in the process.

The ‘Endure Pain’ room is very simple and brutal, earning chips through self-harm.

Of course, compared to those more cruel judgment-type games, it can only be considered minor.

From Dai Yifan’s situation, these wounds are not deep, and players can randomly choose the location themselves. It’s just a bit painful and looks scary, but there’s actually no life-threatening danger.

However, since players still have five other game rooms to choose from, the players who actually decide to self-harm are in the minority.

This is also a screening mechanism. Because only a small number of players self-harm in this room, they can exchange chips at close to a 1:1 ratio while activating dividends, which is still much more cost-effective than the returns of players in other rooms.

But unfortunately, judging from the game process, Xu Tong never chose this game room from start to finish.

She first rushed into ‘Simple Poker’ and grabbed a spot in single-player mode, playing for an hour.

However, because there were many players in this room, it triggered chip inflation, resulting in low returns for her.

Other players in two-player mode and multiplayer mode realized this more quickly and left earlier. Xu Tong, on the other hand, was quite delayed due to the advantage of her single-player mode position.

By the time she realized her returns were falling behind, she hurried to check the situation of other game rooms, but she was already somewhat behind.

The game archive wouldn’t show her psychological activity when making choices, but the players could roughly guess.

‘Endure Pain’ should have been the first to be eliminated, after all, players like Dai Yifan are special cases.

The ‘Equipment Forging’ room has a certain deceptiveness. If it were a player like Chen Guangming who could realize the special significance of this room’s mechanism very early on and confirm a stable profit method through observing the game, this would definitely be the best game room in the hall where Xu Tong was located.

After all, this game hall didn’t have ‘Auction Tycoon.’

But Xu Tong apparently didn’t see this point.

Cai Zhiyuan looked at the basic rules of the remaining three games and made his own inference.

”These three games should all have corresponding traps buried in them.”

Wei Xinjian nodded, ”Yes, this is what I mentioned before, games with malicious intent.”

Zheng Jie was somewhat puzzled, ”Strange, according to our previous analysis, the probability of traps existing in these games shouldn’t be high, right?

”Because God’s Imitators need players to repeatedly play in the rooms to activate dividend quotas. If there are traps in the room, players won’t come play again after discovering them.

”By doing this, wouldn’t the God’s Imitator be taking a huge risk?”

Cai Zhiyuan explained, ”The probability isn’t high, but it’s not zero.

”Imitators can bury traps, as long as they make them not so easy for players to discover.

”There are two key factors here:

”First, give players positive returns so they won’t be discouraged by losses, but these positive returns aren’t enough to trigger chip inflation in the room.

”Second, give players an expectation of high returns to stimulate their gambling psychology.

”So among these three games, ’Pinball’ is the most malicious and dangerous.”
