Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 198: Chapter 170: You’re Not a Useless Person, But a Powder Keg

Confident in his Leopard Fist skills, the man in the leopard-print leather jacket was the first to charge. Seeing the man roaring like a leopard as he advanced, Zhao Rong couldn’t be bothered to make a move himself. He simply glanced at his assistant and said, ”Assistant, greet this show-off with a brick.”

Hearing this, the assistant immediately swung a brick at the charging man. However, the assistant had been spending all his time lying in bed playing on his phone, often in the dark after the lights were out. This habit had given him a touch of glaucoma, and as a result, the brick he threw completely missed its target.

When the man in the leopard-print jacket saw that the assistant’s brick had missed, he burst out laughing. ”Assistant, don’t forget you just smashed my head with an ashtray,” he crowed. ”Now, I’m chopping your head off with this machete!”

Seeing his brick had missed, the assistant rubbed his eyes. ”If I’d known I’d be throwing bricks today, I would’ve played less on my phone,” he said regretfully.

Standing beside him, the beautiful Yu Lan saw how idiotic he was for missing at such close range and immediately lost her temper. Using every ounce of her strength, she hurled her brick straight at the man’s head.

Just as the man was feeling lucky that the assistant’s brick hadn’t hit him, the one thrown by Yu Lan smacked him square in the face, knocking him to the ground. He scrambled around on the floor, as if searching for lost teeth. ”Damn it! Who sneak-attacked me with a brick?!” he cursed. ”You’re ruthless! That knocked out the gold teeth I just got today...” With that, he began crawling on the ground, groping in the dark for his lost treasures.

When the man called Goldfish Eyes saw his brother get floored by a brick, he was instantly furious. ”Damn it!” he fumed. ”I refuse to believe someone with a machete can’t take down someone with a brick!” With that, Goldfish Eyes charged forward, machete in hand.

When Zhao Rong saw the man’s paltry skill, he couldn’t be bothered to lift a finger. He just chuckled and said to the beautiful women beside him, ”A volley of bricks!”

Hearing the command ”A volley of bricks!” as he rushed forward with his machete, Goldfish Eyes was momentarily stunned. Damn it, I’ve heard of a volley of arrows, but never a volley of bricks! What the hell is a volley of bricks?

While Goldfish Eyes was still wondering, Miss Lili, the beautiful Yu Lan, the beautiful Xuelian, and Wang Meili instantly understood Zhao Rong’s meaning. As one, the four women hurled their bricks at the advancing man. When Goldfish Eyes saw the bricks flying toward him, he was dumbfounded. He dodged left, avoiding Miss Lili’s brick, then jumped right, evading Yu Lan’s. Next, he leaped into the air, coincidentally dodging the brick from Xuelian. Finally, he ducked his head, fortunately avoiding Wang Meili’s last brick.

Having dodged all four bricks, Goldfish Eyes shouted excitedly, ”So much for your ’volley of bricks’! Even with a volley of arrows, you couldn’t hit me! Ladies, prepare to die...”

As Goldfish Eyes charged forward with his machete, the assistant was still feeling guilty for missing earlier. He was squatting on the ground, searching for another brick, determined to prove that his throwing skills weren’t a total bust. But after searching for a while, he could only find half a brick. Frustrated, he threw the broken piece aside. ”What the hell? You can’t even find a whole brick in this crappy place.”

However, before he could finish speaking, a scream suddenly erupted from Goldfish Eyes behind him. ”Damn it! Who sneak-attacked me with a brick?! It hit my eye...” Crying out, Goldfish Eyes clutched his now-blinded eye and collapsed.

Hearing the scream behind him, the assistant shot to his feet. He whirled around and saw that the half-brick he had just tossed away in frustration had, by a strange twist of fate, struck Goldfish Eyes as he charged forward. Incredibly, it had hit him squarely in his namesake goldfish eye.

The assistant couldn’t help but marvel, ”Damn... So it’s true what they say. When you actually try to do something, it fails, but when you’re not even trying, you succeed by sheer luck.”

When the women saw that the assistant’s brick had not only hit Goldfish Eyes but had also blinded his namesake eye, they all gave him a thumbs-up. ”Assistant, you’re a real strategist! Hiding in the dark where he couldn’t see you and then hitting him with a sneak attack... that was brilliant, absolutely brilliant!”

Yu Lan also gave him a thumbs-up. ”Assistant, I laughed at you earlier for missing the leopard-print guy and called you a useless fool. But that brick you just threw at Goldfish Eyes was absolutely perfect. It seems I misjudged you. You’re not a good-for-nothing, and you’re not a waste of space, you’re a stick of dynamite!”

Beaming at the women’s praise, the assistant felt a surge of inspiration. ”Ladies,” he said, puffing out his chest, ”my brick-throwing skills are truly top-notch. Taking down Goldfish Eyes was just a little taste. Next, I’ll show you my ultimate move!” As he spoke, he picked a banana peel off the ground. ”If that Nostrils-to-the-Sky guy dares to charge over here, I can take him down with just this tiny banana peel and make him break a bone.”

Just then, the man called Nostrils-to-the-Sky saw that both of his buddies had been taken down by a bunch of people armed with bricks. He exploded with rage. ”Don’t think you’re so great just because you have bricks!” he roared. ”I’m telling you, I’ve got gear! I’m not afraid of your bricks!” With that, Nostrils-to-the-Sky pulled out a hard hat and slapped it on his head. He then charged forward, machete in hand, shouting, ”Come on, ladies! Throw your bricks right at my head! This hard hat is the kind oil workers use—it’s not only tough, it’s shock-proof!”

However, before he could finish speaking, his feet suddenly slipped out from under him, and he fell flat on his face. After crashing to the ground, he cursed furiously, ”Damn it! I told you to hit me with bricks! Who the hell threw a banana peel under my feet?”

Hearing this, the assistant stepped forward decisively. ”Nostrils-to-the-Sky, who else could be smart enough to catch you off guard with such an unexpected move? I’ll tell you, the one who threw the banana peel was me, of course! Only I could come up with such a brilliant plan to make you slip so I can beat you down!”

Now that he’s slipped on the banana peel, this is my chance, the assistant thought. I’ll rush up, straddle him, and beat the crap out of him! That’ll show off my manly vigor and prove to these four beauties that I’m just as good as that Zhao Rong kid.

Acting on his thought, the assistant let out a mighty roar, ”Nostrils-to-the-Sky, eat my ass!” With that, he charged forward, preparing to sit on the man and crush him with all his might.

But the assistant never expected what happened next. Nostrils-to-the-Sky executed a perfect carp flip, springing up from the ground and bellowing, ”Yellow-rank advanced Martial Technique—Thunderclap Leg!”

With a single kick, he sent the oncoming assistant flying through the air. After launching him, Nostrils-to-the-Sky tossed his machete aside. ”I’ll tell you the truth,” he said. ”I am actually a Level 20 cultivator. And if I told you where I trained, it would scare you to death.”

If I’d known he was a Level 20 cultivator, I never would have tried to show off, thought the flying assistant, utterly vexed. I tried to steal the spotlight and just got kicked for my trouble. What a total loss.

When Zhao Rong heard that Nostrils-to-the-Sky was a Level 20 cultivator, he was delighted. ”I love fighting cultivators like you. It makes things much more satisfying. But I am genuinely curious—where could you have possibly trained that would be impressive enough to ’scare me to death’?”

Could this guy have really trained at some prestigious place? Zhao Rong wondered.

Hearing this, Nostrils-to-the-Sky said proudly, ”Little security guard, I’m an open book. Since you want to know which sect I trained at, I’ll tell you.” He cleared his throat dramatically and declared, ”I once trained at a very impressive sect in Xijing City: the Wild Wolf Sect!”

Hearing the name—the very same Wild Wolf Sect that he himself had thrashed—Zhao Rong laughed. ”Oh, so you trained at that trash heap, the Wild Wolf Sect,” he said. ”In that case, you must know Achilles.”

At the mention of Achilles, Nostrils-to-the-Sky became visibly excited. ”Achilles is the pride of our Wild Wolf Sect! He once tore magical beasts apart with his bare hands, thrashed evil spirits, disciplined masters, and taught kings a lesson... But to think he ultimately lost to some unknown disciple from the True Martial Sect named Zhao Rong? What a shame for a young champion like Achilles.”

Hearing this, the women all turned to look at Zhao Rong. ”Zhao Rong,” one of them said, ”he just said your name.”

At this, Nostrils-to-the-Sky’s eyes went wide as he stared at Zhao Rong. ”What? Could it be? Are you the young hero from the True Martial Sect... Zhao Rong?”
