Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 189: Chapter 163: Young Man, Do You Have a Partner?

Luckily, Zhao Rong hadn’t reached the manure pit when he spotted the Enduring Flame lying on the grass. A pale blue flame was burning silently on the ground.

Looking at the Enduring Flame before him, Zhao Rong thought, With the Enduring Flame, refining potions will be no problem at all.

With that, he opened his Magic Ring and stored the flame inside.

In today’s battle, Zhao Rong had not only eliminated the motorcycle thieves but had also uncovered the secrets of the Bai Corporation. Furthermore, he had obtained two million in cash and the mysterious Enduring Flame. It was a bountiful harvest indeed.

As Zhao Rong carried the two suitcases of cash toward the security team’s office, people kept coming up along the way to praise his heroic deeds. An elderly woman even came all the way from the nearby urban village to the school just to find Zhao Rong and praise him.

”Young man, by eliminating those motorcycle thieves, you’ve rid our urban village of a huge menace! Without them around, we no longer have to worry about being robbed when we go out.”

After she finished speaking, the elderly woman hesitated for a moment, then looked at Zhao Rong and asked, ”Young man, do you have a girlfriend?”

Stunned, Zhao Rong answered truthfully, ”I’m single right now.”

Upon hearing that Zhao Rong was single, the woman immediately pulled a photo from her pocket. ”Young man, since you’re not married yet, what do you think of this girl? If you’re interested, I can set you two up right away.” Saying this, the woman looked at him kindly.

Seeing that she wanted to play matchmaker, Zhao Rong couldn’t help but take the photo from her hand. The girl in the photo had a pointed chin and sunken cheeks. She was rail-thin and utterly devoid of feminine charm.

Realizing the girl wasn’t his type, Zhao Rong tactfully declined, ”Ma’am, I’m sorry, I misspoke. I actually do have a girlfriend.”

The elderly woman was skeptical. The young guard had just said he was single, so how could he suddenly have a girlfriend? She said, ”Young man, my niece just doesn’t like wearing makeup. The photo I showed you was her without any. Here, take a look at a picture of her after she’s put some on.”

With that, the woman pulled another photo from her pocket and handed it to Zhao Rong.

When Zhao Rong took the second photo, he was stunned speechless. The girl in this picture was as beautiful as a celestial fairy, enough to make anyone’s imagination run wild.

Holding the photo, Zhao Rong asked, ”Ma’am, are you sure the girl in these two photos is the same person?”

The woman nodded seriously. ”It’s really the same person. It’s just that one is wearing makeup, and the other isn’t.”

This reminded Zhao Rong of the videos on Douyin showing girls with and without makeup, and he sighed to himself. The old saying goes that seeing is believing, but with the ’beauties’ in society today, you can’t even trust your own eyes.

Then, Zhao Rong waved to Wang Meili, who was standing not far away. ”Ma’am, I really do have a girlfriend. See that girl over there? Her name is Wang Meili, and she’s my girlfriend.”

Hearing this, the elderly woman immediately looked toward Wang Meili. When she saw how beautiful Wang Meili was even without makeup, she promptly put her photos away and gave up on introducing her niece to Zhao Rong.

No sooner had the woman left than an old man appeared. The old man looked at Zhao Rong and asked with a peculiar coyness, ”Young man, you’re so outstanding. So... do you prefer men, or women?”

Hearing the old man’s words, Zhao Rong said emphatically, ”Sir, you’ve got the wrong person! I’m completely straight! I can tell you right now, I absolutely love women, I must love women, I only love women...”

Hearing this, the old man nodded. As he walked away dejectedly, he muttered, ”My son is already twenty-four, and he’s not dating or getting married... I guess there must be something wrong with his orientation.”

After returning to his dorm with the cash, Zhao Rong suddenly remembered that he was supposed to go to Wang Meili’s room to fix her water heater and then scrub her back.

He couldn’t help but want to slap himself. How could I forget something so important?

Zhao Rong shoved the two suitcases of cash under his bed and hurried out of the security dorm, striding swiftly toward Wang Meili’s building.

When he arrived at Wang Meili’s door, his heart pounded with excitement. Those motorcycle thieves and Bai Xiaojun might have delayed my fun with Wang Meili, but thankfully, that’s all dealt with. Now I can finally go to her room and scrub her back...

Thinking about this, Zhao Rong couldn’t help but chuckle to himself. Before knocking, he furtively glanced from side to side, worried that another student—or worse, Lili, Yu Lan, or Xuelian—might spot him sneaking over to Wang Meili’s dorm.

Seeing that the hallway was empty, he smiled and happily knocked on the door.

However, after knocking gently for a while, he received no answer.

Zhao Rong frowned. Why isn’t anyone opening the door?
