Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 178: Chapter 152: Marseille Turn, Three No Spicy Strips

At that moment, once Zhao Rong got the ball in the penalty area, he began to dribble, effortlessly gliding past one defender after another.

When the spectators saw a beautiful girl displaying such outstanding skills—dribbling so sharply and blowing past opponents so decisively—they were completely won over by Zhao Rong’s prowess.

A man in glasses, who used to be a Zidane fan but was now a Zhao Rong fan, exclaimed, ”Damn, this girl’s skills are simply amazing! I used to love Zidane so much, but after seeing her play, I don’t love him anymore.”

A former Maradona fan, who had later become a fan of someone else, gave Zhao Rong a thumbs-up and said, ”Damn, those skills are superb! Look at her! After this match, she could go straight to the national team.”

Amidst the chorus of praise, Zhao Rong dribbled the ball straight across the midfield and into the penalty area of the Year Two, Class Two team.

As a defender came up to challenge him, Zhao Rong immediately executed Zidane’s signature move from the ’98 World Cup: the Marseille Turn. Everyone watched as he smoothly performed the maneuver to bypass the last defender, leaving him facing the goal directly.

Just as Zhao Rong was preparing for a volley, the crossbow player rushed over. The player stood behind Zhao Rong and, seeing he wasn’t looking, pressed the switch on the weapon.

The moment the poisoned arrow shot out, the crossbow player thought with glee, Beauty, it doesn’t matter how good your skills are. Once my poisoned arrow hits you, you’re dead.

When Perm Hair saw that the crossbow player she had arranged was in position behind Zhao Rong and had fired the arrow, she laughed. ”Little beauty, you may be the perfect combination of beauty and skill, but it’s your tough luck you fell into the hands of me, the super-villainess Perm Hair.”

Just when they both felt certain that Zhao Rong was as good as dead, he had a sudden whim. While preparing to shoot, he decided to try a fancy move.

Like the anime character Captain Tsubasa from his childhood, Zhao Rong clamped the ball between his feet, launched himself into the air, and then took the shot.

Just as Zhao Rong jumped into the air with the ball between his feet, the crossbow player was dumbfounded. Not only had the poisoned arrow missed Zhao Rong, but it was now heading straight for the goalkeeper, Liu Shisan, who was standing in front of him.

Perm Hair, watching from not far away, was also stunned. She hadn’t expected that Zhao Rong could sense someone shooting at him from behind, even with his back turned.

She couldn’t help but wonder, Does this beauty have a third eye in the back of his head? Otherwise, how could he have known someone was shooting a poisoned arrow from behind and dodged it?

As Zhao Rong flew through the air and kicked the ball, he instantly regretted it. His shot was too straight, flying directly toward the goalkeeper.

Upon landing, Zhao Rong said with regret, ”Damn, what rotten luck. I finally get a chance for a volley, and I hit the goalkeeper squarely. Looks like this shot is a dud; it’s definitely not going in.”

However, just as Zhao Rong felt sure the ball wouldn’t go in, the goalkeeper, Liu Shisan, suddenly collapsed as if struck by something. He lay on the ground, foaming at the mouth and convulsing wildly.

The moment Liu Shisan fell, the ball that Zhao Rong was certain wouldn’t score rolled right into the goal.

When Zhao Rong saw his hundred-percent-no-chance shot actually go in, he was completely astonished. But as astonished as he was, the crowd was even more stunned.

Miss Lili looked at Zhao Rong, clutched her chest, and said, ”Damn, Brother Zhao Rong’s shot is so fierce! He shot the goalkeeper dead!”

Yu Lan, unable to keep her legs together, exclaimed, ”Damn, Brother Zhao Rong’s shot is just too powerful! I, Yu Lan, want to be shot by Brother Zhao Rong too!”

Xuelian involuntarily turned around, presenting her shapely rear to Zhao Rong, and said, ”Wow, Brother Zhao Rong’s shot is so powerful. I’d love to be shot by him too...”

After Zhao Rong scored, the fans in the stands grew even more frenzied. A group of students watching the game immediately formed a Zhao Rong fan club. Waving their T-shirts in the air, they began to sing, ”Olé, Olé, Olé... Beauty, beauty, beauty...”

Clearly, the surrounding students had been conquered by Zhao Rong’s exquisite skills.

Just then, the referee announced, ”Year One, Class One scores another goal! The score is now Year One, Class One, three; Year Two, Class Two, zero!”

At this, a furious Perm Hair charged toward the crossbowman. She slapped him across the face and yelled, ”Idiot! Good-for-nothing! Useless waste! How could you miss with a crossbow at such close range?”

The match was nearing its end, and the team of the Four Scheming Dames, Year Two, Class Two, had yet to score a single goal.

From the sidelines, their coach roared, ”Motherfucker! As a coach, I’ve led Year Two, Class Two to win countless matches against strong teams, but today, you bunch of good-for-nothings are about to let the match end without scoring a single goal!”

He then issued a direct warning to the Four Scheming Dames on the field. ”I’m warning you! If you lose this game, I won’t say much. After all, Year One, Class One produced an incredible ’Soccer King.’ But if you finish this entire match without scoring a single goal, you can wait for me to disband the team and send every last one of you to the coal mines to dig coal!”

Hearing this, the Four Scheming Dames were scared witless. The ringleader, Big Earrings, rushed over to consult with Perm Hair. They exchanged sly smiles and then called over their left-back, a guy nicknamed Shorty.

Big Earrings pulled Shorty aside, took a stick of dynamite from her shirt, and handed it to him. ”Shorty,” she said, ”this stick is packed with TNT. I want you to rush over to that beauty who just scored, light the fuse, and toss it under Zhao Rong’s feet. Blow him to smithereens, got it?”

Hearing he was supposed to throw a dynamite stick filled with TNT, Shorty practically peed himself with fear. ”Boss, if you ask me to dress like a woman, I’ll do it. If you ask me to act like a fool, I’ll do it. But you’re asking me to blow someone up with dynamite... I don’t have the guts!”

Hearing that Shorty was too scared, Big Earrings immediately pulled a pack of spicy strips from her pocket. ”Shorty, what’s this?”

When Shorty saw the spicy strips, he went wild. Drooling, he said, ”Everyone else is drunk, but I alone am sober! They all say spicy strips are bad for you, but I, Shorty, just love them! I can go ten days without a meal, but I can’t go one hour without my spicy strips! Boss, just give me the spicy strips, and I’ll toss that dynamite at the beauty right now!”

Hearing this, Big Earrings smiled and handed both the spicy strips and the dynamite to Shorty.

Once Shorty had the spicy strips, he devoured them on the spot. After finishing, he wiped the grease from his mouth, clutched the stick of dynamite, and ran toward Zhao Rong.

At that moment, Zhao Rong was using the final moments of the game to launch one last charge. He planned to score one more goal to make it a four-to-zero blowout.

Just as Zhao Rong reached the midfield with the ball, Shorty charged at him with the dynamite. Zhao Rong, fully focused on his offensive push, didn’t notice the short guy sneaking up beside him.

When Shorty got close, he looked at the completely defenseless Zhao Rong and chuckled to himself. Beauty, don’t blame me for blowing you up. It’s just that my boss has the spicy strips I love.

With that, Shorty lit the fuse. Just as it was about to burn down, he threw the dynamite at the feet of the dribbling Zhao Rong.

Seeing that he had tossed the dynamite perfectly, Shorty ran away, laughing maniacally to himself. This time, that beauty’s a goner. He’s definitely going to be blown to smithereens!

But just as Shorty was certain Zhao Rong was done for, Zhao Rong, while dribbling, accidentally stepped on the soccer ball.

As he slid on top of the ball, he muttered in frustration, ”Damn it, how unlucky! I was just about to cross the center line, but I accidentally stepped on the ball and went sliding?”

While sliding, Zhao Rong inadvertently kicked the stick of dynamite. His accidental kick sent it flying toward the spot where the Four Scheming Dames were gathered.

At that moment, Shorty had just run back to them. When Big Earrings saw him return empty-handed, she knew he must have already thrown the dynamite.

”How did it go?” she asked. ”Did you complete the mission?”

Shorty proudly puffed out his chest. ”Of course! When spicy strips are on the line, you can always count on Shorty to deliver.” With that, he held out his hand to Big Earrings, asking for his reward.

A pleased Big Earrings said, ”Excellent. As long as you’ve blown up that goal-scoring beauty, I promise you a lifetime supply of spicy strips and all the luxurious spicy strips you could ever want...”

Excited, Shorty said, ”Thanks, Boss! But I want the kind from the unlicensed workshops. It has to be a ’three-no’ product—that kind has the best kick!”

Just as Big Earrings was imagining Zhao Rong being blown to bits by the TNT-packed dynamite, she suddenly heard a crisp sound as something landed behind her.

As she turned around, she thought, Could the heavens really be dropping a gold nugget for me?

While Big Earrings was fantasizing about gold nuggets falling from the sky, a thunderous, earth-shattering explosion rocked the ground...
