Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 170: Chapter 144: Preparing to Alert the Authorities and Bust the Gambling Den

Zhao Rong counted the chips he had won. He wouldn’t have known if he hadn’t counted, but once he did, he was stunned. To his surprise, he had beaten the God of Gamblers in a single round, winning chips valued at 100,000 yuan.

When the assistant saw that Zhao Rong had won back half of what he had lost the previous night in just one game, he said excitedly, ”Zhao Rong, you’re practically a God of Gamblers yourself! Play a few more rounds and win back everything I lost last night!”

When the crowd saw the unremarkable, gas-mask-wearing Zhao Rong defeat the God of Gamblers, they were all flabbergasted.

A man so obsessed with gambling he would show up with an IV drip in his arm said, ”Damn, I’ve been coming to this mahjong parlor for ten years, and the God of Gamblers has never lost. How did he get beaten by some young upstart today?”

A gambler who had never won stared at Zhao Rong with wide eyes. ”Young man, you beat this parlor’s God of Gamblers... How did you do it? Can you teach me your skills? I’m willing to be your student!”

A woman who had lost her family to gambling looked at him in disbelief. ”Young man, how on earth did you do it? Beating the God of Gamblers... it’s the stuff of legends.”

Hearing the praise from the crowd, Zhao Rong just smiled. He pocketed all his winnings and said, ”Just a little warm-up. Stick around, everyone, and keep your eyes peeled. The real show is about to begin.”

When the God of Gamblers finally registered that the young man in the gas mask had indeed beaten him, he slammed his hands on the table, his face flushing with anger. ”You little brat! You just got lucky. If you’ve got the guts, let’s play again!”

I clearly used my special ability instant teleportation to switch the dice from a high number to a low one, the God of Gamblers thought. How did they change back to high by the time I opened the bowl? No. This time, I absolutely will not declare my bet first. I have to make that kid go first.

The God of Gamblers continued shaking the dice and said to Zhao Rong, ”Kid, I bet first last time. This round, it’s your turn.” With that, he finished shaking and placed the bowl on the table.

Hearing this, Zhao Rong smiled and said casually, ”I’ll bet on small again.”

The God of Gamblers smirked. Kid, you got lucky last time. This time, prepare to lose. I’ll make sure you’re so thoroughly beaten you’ll have no choice but to admit your inferiority.

Thinking this, the God of Gamblers once again used his special ability instant teleportation. At a speed invisible to the naked eye, he lifted the bowl and switched the dice inside to the high result he intended to bet on. After doing so, he let out a triumphant roar to the crowd. ”Since this kid is betting on small, then I’ll bet on big!”

He shot Zhao Rong a sleazy look, as if to say, ”Just you wait, kid. You’re going down.”

But Zhao Rong saw the look in the God of Gamblers’ eyes and instantly used his Special Abilities, then his Instant Teleportation, to change the dice inside the bowl from big back to small.

At that moment, the God of Gamblers took out chips worth a million yuan, threw them onto the table, and declared, ”Kid, I’m betting one million this time. Do you dare to match me?”

The crowd gasped when they saw him stake one million on a single game.

”The God of Gamblers wouldn’t make such a huge bet unless he was certain he’d win,” said a gambler who skimped on food and clothes to fund his habit.

”I think the God of Gamblers has this one in the bag,” added a middle-aged man who had once won a little only to lose everything in the end. ”That kid in the gas mask is definitely going to lose.”

Just as everyone wrote Zhao Rong off, convinced he was doomed, the God of Gamblers slowly lifted the bowl. Before even looking at the result, he pointed a finger straight at Zhao Rong’s nose. ”Zhao Rong, a bet’s a bet. Since you’ve lost, give me my one million in chips. If you don’t have enough, you can give me a leg to pay your debt.”

Before he could finish, Zhao Rong tapped the table. He pointed at the dice in the bowl and reminded him, ”Old man, look carefully. The result isn’t big, it’s small.”

The God of Gamblers froze. When he looked down and saw that the dice were indeed small, he was so shocked he coughed up blood. He spat out two mouthfuls, then sputtered, ”How could it be small? I clearly switched the dice to...”

He stopped himself mid-sentence. I definitely used my Special Abilities to change the result to big,

he thought frantically. How did it turn back to small right when I opened the bowl? What in the hell is going on?If the God of Gamblers was shocked enough to vomit blood, the onlookers were even more stunned, and a whole group of them fainted on the spot.

A man who knew gambling was illegal but came anyway, hoping to get lucky, gave Zhao Rong a thumbs-up. ”Is this kid in the gas mask the new God of Gamblers? How else could he beat the original twice in a row, so cleanly, so completely, and so convincingly?”

A gambler who had gone from a millionaire, thanks to demolition compensation, to a pauper, thanks to gambling, looked at Zhao Rong with envy. ”The new generation surpasses the old, and the student surpasses the master! A new God of Gamblers has been born! A Gambling Saint has descended from the heavens!”

When the assistant standing beside Zhao Rong saw him win another 1,000,000 yuan in chips, he immediately whipped out a cigar, lit it, and offered it to him. ”Zhao Rong, this is a premium Cuban. Have a puff! I swear, you must be a god of gambling incarnate. How else could you be so sharp, crushing him so completely and leaving him humiliated and speechless?”

Zhao Rong sat on the stool, crossing his legs and puffing on the cigar. ”Since we’ve won,” he said to the assistant standing beside him, ”what are you just standing around for? Go collect that million in chips.”

The assistant scrambled onto the table, scooped up the pile of chips from beside the God of Gamblers, and brought them back to Zhao Rong in a tight embrace. Looking at the priceless chips, he jumped up and down on the spot for joy. ”Zhao Rong, we’re rich! We’ve really struck it rich!”

In contrast to his assistant’s glee, Zhao Rong was more focused on his plan. First, I’ll teach this God of Gamblers a proper lesson. Then I’ll block the door, call the police, and get this whole gambling den shut down for good.

At this point, the God of Gamblers lost all composure. He gritted his teeth, his body trembling with rage. ”Kid, I’ll play you one more round. This third round, we’re not playing with chips. We’re playing with cash.”

He grabbed a case from nearby, heaved it onto the table, and dumped its contents out. A mountain of cash, five million yuan in total, spilled across the table.

Seeing the cash bet, a cocky grin spread across Zhao Rong’s face. ”Well, if you insist on handing me five million yuan in cash, it would be rude of me to refuse.”

With that, Zhao Rong prepared to use his Special Abilities to alter the dice for a third time.

The God of Gamblers narrowed his eyes, staring intently at Zhao Rong. This time, I definitely won’t use my Special Abilities and Instant Teleportation until the very last moment, right when the bowl is opened.

At that exact same moment, Zhao Rong also decided to wait until the last possible second to use his Special Abilities to change the dice.

Inevitably, the time and space where Zhao Rong and the God of Gamblers chose to activate their Special Abilities overlapped.

It was clear they were about to run into each other while using their Special Abilities.
