Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 168: Chapter 142: Urban Village, A Place of Mixed Fish and Dragons

When the Werewolf saw the Magic Lion pouncing toward him, he froze in terror and wet his pants. ”Damn,” he stammered. ”I always thought we werewolves were the masters of showing off and playing tricks, but I never expected this little security guard to outdo me at my own game...”

Before the Werewolf could finish, the Magic Lion swallowed him whole.

Watching his pet devour the Werewolf, Zhao Rong exclaimed, ”Damn, you truly are the king of beasts! Lions are amazing!”

After gobbling up the Werewolf, the Magic Lion affectionately returned to rub against Zhao Rong’s legs. Zhao Rong petted its forehead and said with delight, ”Other people have cats or dogs, but my pet is a lion—and a Magic Lion at that. How cool is that?”

Just then, the beautiful women who had been hiding rushed over.

Lili fondly stroked the Magic Lion. ”You’re such a good lion! From now on, Zhao Rong is your master, and I, Lili, will be your mistress.”

Yu Lan petted the Magic Lion’s head. ”Little lion, you’re so good. If you accept Brother Zhao Rong as your daddy, then I’ll be your mommy.”

Xuelian stepped forward, wrapping one arm around Zhao Rong and the other around the Magic Lion. ”From now on,” she declared, ”our little family of three will be happy forever.”

When the Assistant saw the three beauties competing for Zhao Rong’s attention, he felt incredibly disheartened. In their hearts, Zhao Rong will always be a god, while I’m just an insignificant cockroach.

Dejected, the Assistant sulked away. After killing the Werewolf, Zhao Rong obtained a wolf crystal.

The next day, Zhao Rong had just woken up and stepped out of his dorm, heading to the washroom to freshen up. Suddenly, a few thugs from the nearby urban village appeared, dragging the Assistant along with them.

When Zhao Rong saw the Assistant being manhandled by two brawny men, he immediately stepped forward and demanded, ”What do you think you’re doing? Why are you hauling my friend around?”

At this, the bearded thug said menacingly, ”Your buddy here lost over a hundred thousand at my mahjong parlor yesterday. So, what’s it going to be? Are you going to pay us, or should we just chop off his arms and legs?”

Hearing that the Assistant had stayed out all night gambling, Zhao Rong said, ”Assistant, you were out all night. I thought you’d gone to the video parlor in the urban village, but you were out gambling?”

Gambling isn’t just illegal, and you lose nine times out of ten, Zhao Rong thought. Of all the bad habits to pick up, why gambling?

Zhao Rong then warned the thugs, ”I’m telling you, gambling is illegal. If you don’t want to be sent to the police, you’d better let my friend go right now.”

The two thugs chuckled. ”You want us to let him go? Simple. Just beat the God of Gamblers at our mahjong parlor. If you win, not only will we release your friend, but we’ll wipe his debt clean.”

Zhao Rong replied instantly, ”No problem. A deal’s a deal. Let’s go to your mahjong parlor right now. If I beat the God of Gamblers, you let him go.”

I’ll go to the mahjong parlor first and teach these guys a lesson about the law, Zhao Rong planned. Then I’ll call the police and have them bust the whole operation.

But when the Assistant heard Zhao Rong was actually going, he immediately tried to stop him. ”Zhao Rong, don’t go! There’s a God of Gamblers there who’s on another level! He never loses. Not even the God of Gamblers or the Saint of Gamblers from the Chow Yun-fat and Stephen Chow movies could beat him.”

Hearing how formidable this God of Gamblers was, Zhao Rong just laughed. ”Don’t worry, Assistant. I’m good at fighting, picking up girls, and catching ghosts, but I’m also a master gambler. In fact, I have a nickname: the King of the Gods of Gamblers. Relax.”

With that, Zhao Rong followed the thugs to the mahjong parlor in the urban village.

Although Zhao Rong had been a security guard at Xijing University for some time, he had rarely set foot in this particular urban village. As he walked inside, he saw young women everywhere in colorful, revealing outfits. ”Damn,” he couldn’t help but remark, ”I never knew so many female university students lived in this urban village.”

The thug next to him chuckled. ”You idiot. Let me tell you, all those pretty girls dressed like students? They’re ’princesses’ who work at the nearby bathhouses, KTVs, and clubs. The ones dressed up like princesses? Those are the real students.”

Zhao Rong was stunned. Times have really changed. I can barely keep up.

Suddenly, as they passed a hair salon, a scantily clad woman stepped out. She beckoned to him, purring, ”Hey handsome, come on in and have some fun.”

Startled by the invitation, Zhao Rong turned to his companion. ”Assistant, have you ever... ’had fun’ at one of these hair salons?”

The Assistant immediately put on a righteous expression. ”A respectable person such as myself? How could I possibly frequent such an establishment? You must be joking!”

Seeing right through his hypocrisy, Zhao Rong called his bluff. ”Are you telling me you’ve never been to a place like this?”

The Assistant grew flustered, his voice trembling as he said, ”I haven’t! So what?”

At that, Zhao Rong mercilessly exposed him. ”Assistant, remember when we were training at True Martial Gate? There was that little alley nearby, lined with hostels. And in front of those hostels, there were always so many streetwalkers...”

The Assistant froze, his eyes widening in terror. ”Damn! How did you know I used to go to the hostels in that alley back when we were at True Martial Gate?”

Zhao Rong smiled. ”I don’t just know that you frequented the hostels. I also know that the one you always went to had a white towel hanging on the door...”

The Assistant looked like he was about to wet his pants again. He immediately caved. ”Zhao Rong, I’ll tell you whatever you want to know! Just please, don’t tell anyone I used to go to those hostels to... you know...”

Seeing the Assistant’s cowardly display, Zhao Rong chuckled. ”You brat. You’re the type who won’t shed a tear until you see the coffin. I didn’t want to expose you, but you forced my hand. So, what are the prices and services in this salon?”

The Assistant leaned in and whispered, ”Fifty bucks for ’pounding, pulling, talking, and singing’...”

Zhao Rong was stunned speechless. But before he could say a word, the bearded thug spoke up first. ”Damn, I go to clubs and bathhouses all the time, but I’ve never been to a salon! If it’s as good as all that, I have to experience it for myself...”

With that, the big-bearded thug went into the hair salon to ’experience’ it.

Seeing his partner go in, the other muscular thug immediately let go of the Assistant. ”Hey, why do you get to have all the fun? I want to experience it, too!”

And with that, he followed another scantily clad woman into the salon.

Just like that, the two thugs were gone. The Assistant looked at Zhao Rong. ”They’re gone. Should we run for it, or wait around?”

Zhao Rong paused. He glanced at the young, beautiful woman still standing in the salon’s doorway, and an impish grin spread across his face. ”In that case... let’s go experience it, too.”

With that, Zhao Rong and the Assistant walked into the hair salon together.
