Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 163: Chapter 137: Super Bodyguard, God-Level Bodyguard

Zhao Rong walked over to the couple who were going at it and said, ”Could you two find another place to be so lovey-dovey? Didn’t you see the female student trying to study behind you?”

The pair, who had been lost in a passionate kiss, were abruptly interrupted by his arrival. The man shot to his feet, enraged. He pointed a finger at Zhao Rong’s nose and cursed, ”Damn it! I was just about to get my girlfriend to the peak... and you had to come over and ruin it for me! Now I was about to get her there *again*, and you’re back to spoil my fun. Are you looking to die, kid?”

Hearing that the couple was in a classroom pursuing... peaks... Zhao Rong sucked in a sharp breath. ”You two are something else. Don’t force my hand. This is your last warning. Get out of here, now.”

The man completely dismissed Zhao Rong’s warning, saying with sheer arrogance, ”I, Hua Manlou, have roamed the martial world for years and seduced countless women. I do as I please in this school. Who dares to warn me?”

Zhao Rong had only intended to chase the shameless couple out. He never expected the man would actually claim to be Hua Manlou. On pure instinct, Zhao Rong’s hand flew out, slapping the man squarely across the face. ”The Hua Manlou from Gu Long’s novels was a man of exceptional Martial Arts and a chivalrous hero,” he scolded. ”How dare a lowlife like you use his name?”

Stunned by the slap, the man clutched his bleeding nose and took a step forward, ready to fight Zhao Rong to the death. But before he could even make a move, Zhao Rong slapped him again. This second slap sent the man spinning in a full circle on the spot.

Seeing stars, the man muttered, ”A wise man knows when to pick his battles. You’re a tough one, little security guard. I’ll leave for today, but we’ll meet again...”

With that, the man grabbed his girlfriend and fled the classroom.

Seeing the shameless couple with no regard for their image finally leave the study hall, Zhao Rong returned to his seat next to Wang Meili. He had just sat down when, suddenly, all the lights in the room went out. As the fluorescent tube overhead flickered erratically, Zhao Rong said nervously, ”Wang Meili, everyone says this lab building is haunted. Why did the lights suddenly die? Is it really haunted?”

While Zhao Rong frantically scanned his surroundings, ready to catch a ghost at any moment, Wang Meili calmly took a candle from her bookbag as if this were a daily occurrence. She lit it, placed it on the desk, and continued her studies as she said, ”The lab building is old. Power outages from faulty wiring are common. It’s nothing.”

Zhao Rong couldn’t help but gasp in admiration. ”People can cause a huge scene, and you can still study. The power goes out, and you can still study. You can really endure anything.”

Hearing this, Wang Meili simply smiled. ”This is nothing. The craziest stuff is yet to come.”

Hearing there was something even crazier, Zhao Rong’s ears perked up. He couldn’t begin to imagine what other bizarre things could happen in this lab building.

Just as he was wondering, an old crone walked in through the door. She was holding a stack of leaflets for cemetery plots and announced as soon as she entered, ”Grave plots for sale, cheap! Who wants a grave plot? Only five hundred per square meter! It’s affordable, a great value! This is a once-in-a-lifetime deal, so don’t miss out!”

Seeing someone peddling cemetery plots inside the study hall, Zhao Rong nearly fainted.

Wang Meili looked at the old crone nearby and said, ”Grandma, there are only two of us in this room. You should try a more crowded study hall. You might find a buyer there.” Turning to Zhao Rong, she explained, ”That grandma is blind. She makes a living selling grave plots.”

The old crone nodded, then opened the classroom door and walked out.

As he watched the grave plot vendor leave, Zhao Rong wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. Could there really be something even more outrageous in this lab building’s study hall?

The thought had barely crossed his mind when a Taoist entered, ringing a small bell. Trailing behind him was a line of hopping zombies, each with a yellow talisman stuck to its forehead and dressed in the official robes of the Qing dynasty.

Zhao Rong leaped to his feet. ”Even Xiangxi corpse herders are coming to this study hall to join the party?” he asked Wang Meili, completely astonished.

In stark contrast to Zhao Rong’s shock, Wang Meili simply pointed toward the window. ”Xiangxi corpse herders have to follow the yin-yang lines on their journey. Room 404 in this lab building just so happens to be a way station on their path. So, they have to guide their zombies through here.”

Hearing that classroom 404 was a stop for corpse herders, Zhao Rong’s brow furrowed in amazement. ”Wang Meili, now I get it. I understand how you went from a village belle to a top scholar in a combined bachelor’s-doctorate program. You have qualities that ordinary people could never hope to match. Your courage, your choices, and your unwavering, single-minded focus on your studies... Honestly, I’m completely in awe of you.”

At the same time, Zhao Rong felt that this lab building was an incredibly mysterious and bizarre place.

Hearing his praise, Wang Meili closed her book and said with a smile, ”This is nothing. Just wait until the three female ghosts show up. Then you’ll know just how magical this building really is.”

The news that there were actual ghosts in the lab—female ghosts, no less—and that they were about to enter his study hall, put Zhao Rong on high alert, as if facing a formidable enemy. But before he could even mentally prepare himself, the sound of high heels echoed from the hallway. Then, the footsteps stopped right outside their door.

Suddenly, the door swung open.

In the very instant the door opened, Zhao Rong launched a flying kick. As he soared through the air, he thought, I don’t care if you’re a person or a ghost. First, you’ll get a taste of my Flying Legs!

However, when the so-called three female ghosts stepped inside, Zhao Rong froze in mid-air. He looked at Miss Lili, Yu Lan, and Xuelian walking through the doorway, hastily retracted his kick, and dropped back to the ground.

After the three beauties entered, they quickly shut the door behind them.

Miss Lili said in terror, ”I knew we shouldn’t have come to the lab building! It really is haunted! That was terrifying!”

Yu Lan pressed her ample rear against the door and said fearfully, ”Sister Lili, we really shouldn’t have come here for thrills. We could have been killed!”

Xuelian pulled out her phone and started dialing Zhao Rong’s number. ”If only Brother Zhao Rong were here with us right now,” she said.

At that moment, the three beauties cried out in unison, ”Brother Zhao Rong, where are you? Brother Zhao Rong, hurry and protect us! There are really ghosts here!”

But before they could finish their plea, they all heard a familiar ringtone.

Holding her phone, Xuelian looked at the number she was calling and said in surprise, ”Wait a minute... why do I hear Brother Zhao Rong’s ringtone?”

Lili was just as baffled. ”That’s the custom ringtone we set for Brother Zhao Rong. Why would it be ringing in here?”

Yu Lan scanned the classroom, searching. ”Could Brother Zhao Rong really be a super bodyguard? A god-tier bodyguard? The number one bodyguard from Zhongnanhai? And we have some kind of telepathy, so he’ll just appear out of thin air whenever we need him?”

Just as the three beauties were overcome with confusion, Zhao Rong, who had been on the floor, suddenly stood up. Rubbing the back of his head with a sheepish grin, he said, ”Miss Lili, Yu Lan, Xuelian, you’re right. I, Zhao Rong, as your dedicated bodyguard, not only share a telepathic link with you, but I am always waiting for your call.”
