Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 186: Chapter 160: A Terrible Conspiracy Hidden Beneath the Surface

At the school, Bai Xiaojun cornered Wang Meili against a wall. With a lecherous grin, he said, ”Wang Meili, you bitch, you actually lost my backpack? Do you have any idea what was inside?”

Wang Meili was the class’s academic monitor and usually loved helping her classmates. However, helping Bai Xiaojun today had somehow brought misfortune upon her. She retreated three steps in fear. ”Your backpack... wasn’t it just full of discs from the Island Country?”

Hearing this, Bai Xiaojun burst into laughter. Fixing his unreadable eyes on her, he said, ”You bitch, I’ll tell you the truth. Everyone around here thinks I, Bai Xiaojun, love to watch those kinds of films, but in reality, I don’t like watching them at all. And everyone thinks that I’m a Ph.D. student, but actually, I’m a rich second-generation heir. Those discs contain evidence of my Bai Family’s money laundering and other criminal business secrets. So, you must get those discs back for me, the ones disguised as films from the Island Country. Otherwise, if my father’s secrets are exposed, the Bai Family, which has dominated Xijing City for decades, will be ruined in an instant.”

Hearing his words, Wang Meili stared in realization. ”Bai Xiaojun, I knew you were a wolf, but I never expected you to be a criminal.”

At her words, Bai Xiaojun smiled, revealing a set of rotten teeth. ”You know now, but it’s too late. I’m about to silence you permanently, then I’ll pay a high price to have someone retrieve our family’s secrets.”

Hearing that he was going to kill her, Wang Meili said in terror, ”Bai Xiaojun, this is a school! It’s not a place for a criminal like you to run wild...”

Bai Xiaojun just chuckled. ”Beauty, I forgot to tell you. I have a special kind of fire called Persistent Fire. If I burn you with it, you’ll vanish without a sound, without a trace.”

The name ”Persistent Fire” made it all click for Wang Meili. She looked into his cruel eyes and said, ”Bai Xiaojun, so those beautiful girls who have recently disappeared from school for no reason... you burned them all away with your Persistent Fire?”

Bai Xiaojun threw his head back and laughed. ”Haha, you’re a smart one! You guessed half of it. I’ll tell you, before I made those beauties disappear, I also ra—”

Before he could finish, Wang Meili slapped him hard across the face and spat a thick glob of phlegm on him. ”So, you’re not just a bad person, Bai Xiaojun, you’re a despicable, irredeemable criminal! You’re utterly depraved! I’m calling the police to hand scum like you over for judgment!”

Hearing the beautiful woman before him threaten to bring him to justice, Bai Xiaojun licked the phlegm off his cheek and ate it, a cold sneer on his face. ”Send me to the police? I’m afraid you don’t have what it takes. Do you even know who I am?”

Wang Meili slapped him again, a sharp, cracking sound echoing in the air. ”You beast! A student by day, an animal by night! You’re a criminal, a demon!”

This slap was hard enough to split his lip, drawing blood. With blood trickling from the corner of his mouth, Bai Xiaojun said, ”Wang Meili, let me tell you something else. I, Bai Xiaojun, am also a level twenty-five cultivator...”

The idea that the plain, sleazy-looking Bai Xiaojun was a cultivator—and a level twenty-five one at that—made Wang Meili’s eyes go wide with disbelief. ”Bai Xiaojun, I can’t believe scum like you is a cultivator! You’re a disgrace to all the cultivators in Xijing City!”

As she spoke, she spat another mouthful of thick phlegm onto his face.

Bai Xiaojun calmly licked this one off as well, then retrieved the Persistent Fire from the Magic Ring on his finger. ”Wang Meili, I, Bai Xiaojun, will now make you disappear from this world, and no one will ever know.”

With that, he prepared to unleash the flame and erase Wang Meili from existence. But at that critical moment, Wang Meili let out a desperate shout.

”Brother Zhao Rong, help me!”

Hearing her shout, Bai Xiaojun cackled. ”You bitch, you can scream your lungs out. No one is coming to save you.”

But before the words were even out of his mouth, Zhao Rong leaped over the wall and sent Bai Xiaojun flying with a single kick, sending him sprawling into a nearby cesspit.

Wang Meili had already squeezed her eyes shut, bracing for death.

After kicking Bai Xiaojun into the cesspit, Zhao Rong turned to her. ”Meili, what’s wrong? Why are your eyes closed?”

Recognizing his voice, Wang Meili’s eyes flew open. She threw herself into his arms, sobbing. ”Brother Zhao Rong, you finally came! That Bai Xiaojun... he was going to burn me with fire!”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong immediately turned to look at the man climbing out of the cesspit. ”Is that thing crawling out of the cesspit Bai Xiaojun?”

Seeing him emerge, Wang Meili said in alarm, ”Brother Zhao Rong, be careful! Bai Xiaojun isn’t an ordinary person. He’s a level twenty-five cultivator!”

When Zhao Rong heard that the man he had just kicked into a cesspit was a level twenty-five cultivator, he grinned. ”It’s been a long time since I’ve gotten to teach a lesson to a cultivator with a higher level than mine. Running into a so-called expert like you today is a real treat.”

With that, Zhao Rong cracked his knuckles, ready to advance and deal with Bai Xiaojun.

After climbing out of the cesspit, Bai Xiaojun tore off his filthy outer clothes, leaving him in a tank top. He glared at Zhao Rong. ”Damn it, you little security guard! Are you looking for death? How dare you kick me into a cesspit?”

Before Bai Xiaojun could finish his threat, Zhao Rong moved with lightning speed and kicked him right back into the pit. ”Damn it, I hate being threatened more than anything. Let me tell you, the moment I heard from my dear Meili that you wanted to set her on fire, your fate was sealed. The consequence of making me angry is that you disappear.”

Hearing that the little security guard planned to make him ”disappear,” Bai Xiaojun struggled out of the filth once more. He glared at Zhao Rong. ”Zhao Rong, I’m a level twenty-five cultivator! You, a mere mortal, think you can make me disappear? You must be dreaming!”

Saying this, Bai Xiaojun prepared to kill Zhao Rong, who also readied himself for battle. However, looking at his opponent covered from head to toe in feces, Zhao Rong was stumped. How was he supposed to beat him up? A single fight would leave him just as filthy.

So, Zhao Rong planted himself in a horse stance and roared, ”Pushing Hands to Lift Clothing!”

Instantly, a gust of wind shot from his palms, blasting every speck of filth off Bai Xiaojun’s body. At the same time, the force of the wind stripped him of all his clothes.

Once the wind died down, the powerfully built Bai Xiaojun stood there, completely naked. And when Wang Meili saw that the man with the body of a titan was hiding a ”little tadpole” down below, she couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

”I never would have guessed Bai Xiaojun was so small down there! I have no idea how a guy who loves watching those movies manages to... you know. How could his left hand even grasp his little tadpole...?”

Hearing Wang Meili’s mockery, Bai Xiaojun’s face turned beet red with rage. He quickly plucked two leaves from a nearby flowerbed to cover himself, sputtering angrily, ”So what if it’s small? It’s the way I was born, a gift from my parents! You can’t change it later... You can mock me for being ugly, for being in poor shape, for being a moron, but you can’t mock my little tadpole!”

Humiliated, he continued to hide his privates. As he did, he saw Zhao Rong holding his backpack and immediately demanded it back. ”Hey, security guard, give me back my backpack right now! You can do this the easy way, or you can do it the hard way.”

Zhao Rong had assumed the backpack just contained some discs from the Island Country and was originally planning to return it. But hearing Bai Xiaojun’s arrogant tone, he changed his mind. ”Damn it, so you just like watching those videos? I’d rather destroy this backpack than give it to you.”

At this, Wang Meili quickly chimed in. ”Brother Zhao Rong, you don’t understand! The discs in his backpack aren’t what they seem. They’re disguised to look like films, but they’re really files on money laundering and top-secret criminal evidence!”

Realizing the discs held illegal secrets, it all made sense to Zhao Rong. ”No wonder a gang of snatch-and-grab thieves tried to steal your backpack. No wonder you were too afraid to go get it yourself. There’s a whole frightening conspiracy under the surface.”

Wang Meili nodded. ”Brother Zhao Rong, there’s more. His family, the Bai Family, runs a massive enterprise in Xijing City, and they specialize in illegal and criminal activities. We absolutely cannot return those discs to him. We have to take them to the police! With this evidence, the police can finally take down the entire criminal Bai Family.”

Hearing this, Bai Xiaojun lost his composure. He snarled viciously, ”It seems you two know far too much. Today, I, Bai Xiaojun, have no choice but to make you both disappear.”

With that, he drew his awesome Persistent Fire from the Magic Ring on his finger.

When Zhao Rong saw that Bai Xiaojun actually possessed Persistent Fire, a tool for alchemy, he grew excited.

If I can get my hands on that Persistent Fire, I won’t have to light a fire under the pressure cooker for my alchemy anymore! And with it, my alchemy skills are sure to reach a whole new level!

And so, Zhao Rong took his stance, ready to fight Bai Xiaojun and seize the Persistent Fire for himself.
