Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 162: Chapter 136: The Haunted Girls’ Experiment Building

After searching all over campus, Zhao Rong finally found it: the mysterious and secluded laboratory building, tucked away behind a small grove.

Zhao Rong stood before the dilapidated building, finding it hard to imagine why Wang Meili would come here for evening self-study. Just as he was puzzling over this, a piercing scream suddenly tore through the silence from within the building, sending a shudder down his spine.

Just as Zhao Rong was thinking there must be a ghost inside, a female music student emerged, coughing twice as she walked out. Seeing that her voice had frightened him, the girl apologized, ”I’m so sorry. My wonderful voice must have scared you...”

Looking at the girl who had been practicing her singing, Zhao Rong wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. Other people sing for money, but your singing could kill someone.

Zhao Rong forced a smile and nodded politely. ”No worries. But next time you practice, please remember to have an introduction. That sudden outburst really sounded like a wailing banshee...”

Hearing this, the music student replied unhappily, ”Don’t you underestimate me, security guard. My solo concert is next week at the school’s opera house. You should come listen to my voice...”

Zhao Rong’s eyes widened in disbelief. She dares to hold a concert with a voice like that? It seems the music department at Xijing University is fresh out of talent.

Just then, the music student handed him her business card and a concert ticket. ”Remember to come to my concert, okay, security guard?”

As Zhao Rong took the ticket, he accidentally brushed against the girl’s fingers. He was shocked to find they were as cold as a corpse’s and quickly pulled his hand back. How can a young girl be so devoid of warmth? Her fingers are ice-cold on such a hot day.

Suddenly, Zhao Rong seemed to realize something. He jerked his head up to look at the girl, but the music student who had just been standing opposite him had vanished without a trace.

Zhao Rong frowned. Damn it, did I just run into a ghost?

As his suspicion grew, he looked down at the business card the music student had given him. The photo on the card was a funeral portrait of a deceased person, and the studio address was listed as the mortuary.

Zhao Rong gasped. He threw the card away in terror and exclaimed, ”Damn it, how could I be so unlucky? I just got to the laboratory building and I’ve already seen a ghost!”

Just then, his phone rang again, startling him once more. He answered and heard Wang Meili’s voice. She asked gently, ”Zhao Rong, have you made it to the laboratory building yet? I’m in study room 404. Right now, it’s just me and another girl from the music department in this huge study room.”

Hearing about a music student, Zhao Rong was jolted. He hurriedly picked up the business card from the ground. Staring at the funereal portrait, he asked Wang Meili, ”Meili, does this girl have long hair and short eyebrows?”

Wang Meili nodded. ”Yes...”

Zhao Rong swallowed hard and continued, ”And thin lips with a prominent chin?”

Wang Meili nodded again. ”Yes, that’s her. What’s wrong?”

Realizing the girl with Wang Meili was identical to the ghost he had just met, Zhao Rong shouted, ”Meili, run! You’re with a ghost!”

With that, Zhao Rong sprinted towards Wang Meili’s study room.

Reaching study room 404, Zhao Rong saw the locked door and kicked it open, bursting inside. He rushed in and saw Wang Meili sitting in the last row. In the first row sat the supposed ghost girl, but to his surprise, she was being incredibly and openly intimate with a man.

What the hell? Do ghosts have human desires, too?

While Zhao Rong stood there gobsmacked, the boy next to the girl stood up. He pointed at Zhao Rong and yelled, ”I was *just* about to get my girlfriend to the peak with my lips... and you kick the door in! What the hell is wrong with you? Are you just jealous that I have such a beautiful girlfriend?”

Zhao Rong looked from the boy to the girl in the front row and let out a sigh of relief. Although the girl in the front row looked a lot like the ghost he’d met, they weren’t the same person.

Facing the boy’s angry accusations, Zhao Rong quickly apologized. ”Sorry, my timing was terrible. I’ve disturbed you. Please, carry on...”

With that, Zhao Rong walked towards Wang Meili in the back row.

Wang Meili, who had been absorbed in her studies, looked up and said happily, ”Zhao Rong, you’re finally here! I heard the school’s been haunted lately, and I was a little scared studying by myself...”

Zhao Rong sat down next to her, wiping the sweat from his forehead. ”You know, if this building is really haunted, you should probably study somewhere else...”

As he spoke, Zhao Rong noticed that Wang Meili was dressed particularly provocatively today. She wore a white spaghetti-strap top that revealed her fair, smooth skin. Below, a tiny miniskirt exposed her long, pale, and alluring legs.

As if noticing his gaze fixed on her legs, Wang Meili quickly crossed them and said with a smile, ”I don’t know why, but whenever I come to study in this laboratory building, my mind feels especially sharp, and my memory is particularly good.”

Could this building have some kind of spiritual energy? Zhao Rong wondered.

Just then, the shameless couple in the front row ramped up their public display of affection. The man stuck out his tongue, and the woman...

Seeing the couple in the front row putting on a live show, Zhao Rong instinctively pulled out his phone. Just then, Wang Meili blocked his view. ”Not suitable for children. Close your eyes.”

Zhao Rong, phone in hand, had been about to record a video. He looked at Wang Meili, then lowered his head. ”That shameless couple... if they’re going to be so brazen, they might as well get a hotel room. Doing this in a university study room... it’s just too much.”

While Zhao Rong was fuming at the scene, Wang Meili seemed calm and accustomed to it. ”You get used to it.”

Zhao Rong was stunned. His eyes widened as he looked at her. ”You mean that shameless couple are regulars here?”

Wang Meili replied without looking up from her books, ”They’re the school’s legendary ’model couple.’ They’re especially fond of doing... *it*... in the study rooms.”

Zhao Rong asked incredulously, ”How can you possibly focus on your studies with that shameless couple carrying on like that in front of you?”

Faced with Zhao Rong’s righteous indignation, Wang Meili looked embarrassed. ”Oh well, just have to bear with it...”

Suddenly, Zhao Rong slammed his hand on the table and shot to his feet, roaring, ”This has gone too far! This is a school, not a hotel, and it’s certainly not a place you rent by the hour!”

With that, he marched toward the couple.
