Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 196: Chapter 168: You are the Wolf in My Heart

As Fangzi of the Island Country swung her katana at the short waiter, she was surprised to see that the man, who had been unarmed a moment ago, suddenly held two weapons. However, when she took a closer look and saw that his ”weapons” were a frying pan and a seasoning box, she couldn’t help but snicker. Fool, do you really think your frying pan can stop my katana?

Meanwhile, the short waiter, who had been bracing for his imminent death, was stunned to find a frying pan in his left hand and a seasoning box in his right. Damn, has my humble existence moved the heavens to come to my aid?

As Fangzi’s katana descended toward the short waiter’s head, he instinctively raised the frying pan to block. When her blade struck the pan, it didn’t even leave a scratch. Fangzi was dumbfounded. She stared at the pan in disbelief and exclaimed, ”You, from Huaxia, what is your frying pan made of? How is it sturdier than my Island Country’s refined steel?”

The short waiter chuckled. ”My lady, I’m sorry to say this, but I’ve been using this frying pan for twenty years, and I’ve never really washed it.”

Hearing this, Fangzi looked closer and saw the thick layer of caked-on grime covering the pan. She almost burst into tears. Damn it! No matter how sharp my katana is, how could it possibly cut through a cook’s filthy pan!

As they stood in a standoff, the short waiter glanced at the seasoning box in his right hand, completely bewildered. I can understand the heavens giving me a frying pan to block a blade, but what am I supposed to do with a seasoning box?

While the waiter was still puzzling over this, Fangzi suddenly pulled a handful of ninja stars from her belt. ”Short waiter, my katana may have been stopped by your frying pan, but you won’t be able to stop my throwing stars!” she declared, preparing to throw them and finish him off.

But Zhao Rong, who had been watching the spectacle while enjoying his luxurious barbecue, could no longer sit still. He couldn’t believe the waiter was too dense to think of throwing pepper in Fangzi’s eyes. In a flash, he used Instant Teleportation to appear beside the waiter and delivered a resounding slap across the man’s face.

”Damn it, you son of a bitch! Is your IQ really that low? If you weren’t fighting someone from the Island Country, I wouldn’t have bothered helping you.”

With that, Zhao Rong took the waiter’s hand, scooped a handful of pepper from the seasoning box, and flung it directly at Fangzi’s eyes. Then, with another Instant Teleportation, he returned to his seat to continue eating his barbecue and watch the show. It all happened so fast that no one else saw what he had done.

The short waiter, staring at the throwing stars in Fangzi’s hand, had felt certain his death was imminent. Then, he suddenly noticed a handful of pepper in his own right hand. Understanding dawned on him instantly. It seems a god really is helping me! This is a guaranteed victory! With that thought, he hurled the pepper into Fangzi’s eyes.

As a ninja, Fangzi was formidable, but before she could even throw her stars, her eyes were burning from the pepper. She instinctively squeezed them shut in pain, and the throwing stars clattered to the floor. Seeing his chance, the short waiter lunged forward and kicked her hard in the stomach, knocking her to the ground. Showing no mercy, he jumped on top of her and delivered a merciless beating until she was unconscious.

After knocking her out, the waiter stood up triumphantly, holding the poodle he had been after. ”Looks like I’ve secured that 10,000 British Pounds from the security guard after all!”

At the table, Lili watched the outcome with a worried expression. ”Brother Zhao Rong, what now?” she asked. ”The short waiter actually won! If he eats that poodle, you’ll have to honor your promise and give him a 10,000 British Pounds tip, won’t you?”

The assistant chimed in, annoyed. ”Brother Zhao Rong, I knew you secretly helped him against those two from the Island Country! You really shouldn’t have done that. Now that 10,000-pound tip is as good as gone.”

While they fretted, the short waiter, carrying the poodle, laughed hysterically as he headed downstairs to roast his prize. However, his elation led to tragedy. Overcome with joy, he missed a step and tumbled all the way from the third floor to the first, his head banging against the stairs repeatedly on the way down. He managed to stumble to his feet at the bottom, only to collapse and never wake up again. Seizing the opportunity, the poodle escaped, running off in search of a wealthier owner.

When Lili and the assistant saw that the waiter had ended up in a vegetative state, they were stunned. Lili looked at Zhao Rong in awe. ”Brother Zhao Rong, you must be the reincarnation of Zhuge Liang! You not only read people perfectly, but your strategies are divine. How did you know that even if the waiter won, he’d never live to collect your tip?”

The assistant gave Zhao Rong a thumbs-up. ”Brother Zhao Rong, you’re just too brilliant! First, you secretly helped him, using him as a borrowed knife to defeat the people from the Island Country. Then, you got rid of him once he’d served his purpose... Brother Zhao Rong, you’re the founding father of the Thick Black Theory!”

Hearing their praise, Zhao Rong just looked puzzled. ”I don’t think I’m as amazing as you think.” With that, he waved for everyone to continue enjoying their meal.

The top-tier feast left everyone completely satisfied.

Lili let out a small burp. ”Brother Zhao Rong, thanks to you, we got to visit such a high-class place. The food here is just too delicious! It’s true what they say: follow a wolf, and you’ll eat meat; follow a dog, and you’ll eat shit. Brother Zhao Rong, you’re the wolf of my heart!”

Yu Lan gazed at him. ”Brother Zhao Rong, you really know how to pick a place. How did you know the food here would suit my tastes so perfectly? I honestly think you’re the only person in the world who understands me.”

Xuelian, picking her teeth with a toothpick, added, ”Brother Zhao Rong, only a man with your refined taste would choose a place this magnificent. I love you so much!”

Wang Meili, finishing the last of her premium champagne, said, ”Brother Zhao Rong, you not only have taste, but you’re also romantic and have a great eye for things. If it weren’t for you, I might have gone my whole life without coming to such an incredible restaurant.”

Listening to the women’s praise, Zhao Rong scratched the back of his head. But... I wasn’t the one who suggested coming here, was I?

At that moment, the assistant sitting beside Zhao Rong couldn’t take it anymore. Wanting to reclaim the spotlight, he shot to his feet. ”Are you all mistaken? I was the one who first suggested coming to King’s BBQ, okay?”

Lili looked at him with disdain. ”Assistant, stop trying to take credit. We all know your level of taste. You usually eat at roadside stalls or the cheap stands near the school. You could never think of a place this high-end.”

Yu Lan retorted sharply, ”Assistant, every time you take us for barbecue, you pick the cheapest stalls imaginable! Those places claim to sell lamb skewers, but we all know it’s just duck or pork brushed with a layer of mutton fat!”

Xuelian delivered the final blow, ”Besides, back at Zhenwu Gate, you promised to treat the three of us to barbecue. We’re still waiting for you to make good on that promise. Are you just all talk?”

Criticized relentlessly by all three women, the assistant sank back into his seat, dejected. I was clearly the one who suggested King’s BBQ. The man they’re all praising should be me! How did that man suddenly become Zhao Rong?

As everyone was mocking the assistant, the elderly waitress who had served them so kindly came over to their table. When Zhao Rong saw her approaching, he took out tens of thousands of British Pounds from his Magic Ring and handed the cash to her. ”Ma’am, this is a tip for taking care of us today. Please take it.”

Seeing the young security guard give her so much money at once, the old woman was moved to tears. ”Young man, you are truly my benefactor! With your help, I’ll no longer have to worry about my son’s tuition and living expenses.”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong wrote his phone number on a piece of paper and gave it to her as well. ”Ma’am, if you ever face any financial difficulties in the future, just give me a call. I’ll help you anytime.”

However, Zhao Rong’s generous tip of tens of thousands of pounds did not go unnoticed. A few rich kids at a nearby table saw the exchange and were immediately displeased. One of them, with a snooty, nose-in-the-air attitude, sneered to his friends, ”Damn, look at that little security guard. A poor bastard trying to show off with such a huge tip. Isn’t he trying to spoil our wealthy vibe?”

Another, dressed in a leopard-print leather jacket, nodded in agreement. ”We young masters, with all our money, only gave a 1,000-yuan tip. For this security guard to give so much... he’s clearly looking down on us!”

A third one with bulging goldfish eyes shot to his feet. ”This won’t do,” he declared to the other two. ”Tonight, we have to teach this little security guard a lesson. We’ll show him what happens when he tries to act tough...”

With that, the group of rich kids started walking toward Zhao Rong, their faces filled with contempt.
