Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 100: Chapter 85: When the Tiger Doesn’t Show Its Might, You Think It’s a Sick Cat_2

Miss Lili said, ”Hu Jie, I’m telling you, if you don’t listen to me, I’ll have Zhao Rong beat you up.”

Hearing this, Hu Jie was forced to give Zhao Rong a light shove. As he did, he apologized, ”Boss, I’m sorry. It’s not that I want to pick a fight with you. Miss Lili is forcing me.” However, the moment Hu Jie pushed Zhao Rong, he immediately sensed the man’s physical weakness.

What’s going on? he thought. How is the once-powerful Zhao Rong so frail today? Has he gotten weaker, or have I, Hu Jie, gotten stronger?

As Hu Jie shoved the fake Zhao Rong, the impersonator couldn’t help but let out a feminine, ”Ouch!” When Lili heard the normally masculine Zhao Rong let out such a high-pitched cry, she immediately grew suspicious. She turned to Yu Lan and asked, ”Did you hear his voice? Why was it so shrill?”

Yu Lan pricked up her ears. ”Exactly. That didn’t sound like Zhao Rong at all. His voice has always been rather deep and magnetic.”

Xuelian added, puzzled, ”Could he have gone out to chase girls and hired a body double to fool us?”

Hearing this, Lili immediately decided to continue her test. ”Hu Jie, shove him again,” she ordered.

At her command, Hu Jie pushed the fake Zhao Rong again, knocking him straight to the ground. Seeing that he had knocked Zhao Rong down himself, Hu Jie was thrilled. It must be that my cultivation level has increased, or my Cultivation Technique has improved! Otherwise, how could a level-twelve cultivator like me topple a level-seventeen cultivator? At this thought, Hu Jie’s confidence soared.

When the three beauties saw the ever hot-blooded Zhao Rong, who detested evil, get knocked down by Hu Jie without even fighting back—just lying there looking aggrieved—Lili immediately knew. The man before them was definitely not Zhao Rong himself, but an impersonator.

So, Lili continued her command to Hu Jie, ”Hu Jie, I order you to give him a good thrashing.”

Hu Jie hesitated for a moment. He looked at Lili and said, ”Miss Lili, you’re the one telling me to beat up Zhao Rong... If I hurt him, you can’t blame me, all right?” After speaking, he thought to himself, Zhao Rong, oh Zhao Rong, who would have thought you’d see a day like this? I remember when you first arrived at the True Martial Sect, you humiliated me with those three beauties, making it so I couldn’t even show my face here anymore... Now, it’s finally my turn for revenge!

With that, Hu Jie rushed forward and began to ruthlessly beat the fake Zhao Rong.

When Lili, Yu Lan, and Xuelian saw the mighty Zhao Rong being beaten up by the insignificant Hu Jie, they were completely certain this man was a fake. The three beauties abandoned the scene, leaving the impersonator to Hu Jie’s beating, and went to search the entire school for the real Zhao Rong.

After beating the fake Zhao Rong, Hu Jie’s confidence swelled immensely. Cracking his knuckles, he thought to himself, I never thought I, Hu Jie, would have a day like this. It seems my time to shine has finally arrived.

With this newfound confidence, Hu Jie quickly gathered a gang of underlings and delinquent girls and began to strut around campus. To everyone he met, he boasted, ”I, Hu Jie, just beat up our school’s biggest celebrity and unrivaled hero, Zhao Rong! From now on, you can forget about Zhao Rong. Remember my name: Hu Jie!”

Just then, as Hu Jie was swaggering near the entrance of the True Martial Sect with his gang, he unexpectedly ran into the real Zhao Rong. When Hu Jie saw the same man he had just beaten to a pulp suddenly appear before him again, he was startled for a moment. This guy recovers fast, doesn’t he? I just beat him into a pathetic pulp, and now he’s already up and about?

Looking at Zhao Rong not far away, Hu Jie let out a loud laugh. He turned to a tattooed underling behind him and bragged, ”Do you believe me if I go over there right now and beat him up in front of all of you? I’ll make him kneel on the ground and call me Grandpa!” He then looked at a delinquent girl next to him. ”Ali, didn’t you all say that Zhao Rong is the toughest, best fighter in our school? Today, I’m going to show you how I, Hu Jie, handle Zhao Rong... how I thrash Zhao Rong... how I beat Zhao Rong to death!”

He then shouted to the crowd of onlookers, ”Everyone, watch closely! I, Hu Jie, am about to give you a live performance of how a level-twelve cultivator thrashes a level-seventeen cultivator!” Finished with his speech, Hu Jie swaggered toward Zhao Rong.

At that moment, Zhao Rong was worried about the three beauties. He was afraid they wouldn’t be able to find him and would wander off. If they went too far at night, they could be in danger. Because of this, he was walking quickly with his head down, completely failing to notice the approaching Hu Jie, nor did he hear any of his arrogant proclamations.

Suddenly, someone blocked his path. Zhao Rong couldn’t help but look up. When he saw it was Hu Jie, whom he hadn’t seen in a long time, he spoke politely, ”Hu Jie, long time no see.”

Hearing Zhao Rong’s polite tone, Hu Jie immediately made an assumption. So, the beating really did cow him! That’s why he’s acting so polite now that he sees me. He spoke arrogantly, ”Zhao Rong, weren’t you so high and mighty before? How dare you have those girls pour makeup remover on the three women I brought, right in front of the whole school? You dared to humiliate me in front of everyone, making it impossible for me to get by?”

At his words, Zhao Rong recalled the incident, which he had almost forgotten. He also felt that he had indeed been in the wrong back then; he shouldn’t have let the girls pour makeup remover on the three heavily made-up women Hu Jie had brought. So, Zhao Rong apologized to him, ”Hu Jie, you’re right. I was in the wrong about that. I’m sorry.”

Hearing the most formidable person in the True Martial Sect actually apologize to him, Hu Jie grew dizzy with delight. It seems beating him to a pulp earlier was the right move! Otherwise, he never would have lowered his head and apologized to me. It looks like the only way to earn someone’s respect is through your own powerful fists. Thinking this, he grabbed Zhao Rong by the collar. ”Zhao Rong, even though you apologized, it’s not enough to quench the hatred in my heart! I may have beaten you half to death just now, but this time, I’m going to finish the job!”

Zhao Rong was utterly bewildered by his words. I just got back from outside. Where and when could Hu Jie have possibly beaten me up? Besides, Zhao Rong was in a hurry and couldn’t be bothered to get tangled up with a small fry like Hu Jie. ”Hu Jie, stop joking around,” he said. ”I’m busy.”

He tried to move past, but Hu Jie arrogantly blocked his way again. ”Damn it, didn’t you hear me? I said I’m going to beat you! Why aren’t you standing still and letting me do it?” As he spoke, Hu Jie thought, Zhao Rong, I didn’t kill you last time, but I’m going all out now. If I happen to kill you, don’t blame my fists for being too hard.

Just as Hu Jie was lost in his fantasy, Zhao Rong suddenly lashed out, driving a powerful front kick straight into his face. With a single kick, Zhao Rong sent the still-daydreaming Hu Jie flying. Afterward, he dusted off his foot and muttered, ”Damn it. A tiger that doesn’t show its fangs is treated like a sick cat.”
