Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 86: Chapter 75: Slapping the Face of a Senior Alchemist

When everyone saw that Zhao Rong had not only leveled up but had done so by two full levels, a thunderous round of applause erupted. The students cheered and jumped for joy, all genuinely happy for his advancement.

Miss Lili blew Zhao Rong a kiss and said, ”Brother Zhao Rong, I knew you wouldn’t fail! Just as I expected, you were victorious.”

Yu Lan clenched her fists before her chest and said excitedly, ”Brother Zhao Rong, not only did you win, but your victory was so powerful, so incredible, so dominant!”

Xuelian pressed her palms together gratefully. ”Brother Zhao Rong, with your victory, you’ve once again shamed all those who were jealous, dismissed you, or even looked down on you.”

When Tao Hua saw Zhao Rong turn the tables and seize victory despite the extremely unfavorable conditions—no Medicinal Cauldron, no Samadhi Fire, no high-level herbs—her heart stirred.

Heavens, no way. How is it that I, Tao Hua, a woman who has never taken the initiative to like a man, am suddenly developing this strange fondness for Zhao Rong? I can’t quite put my finger on it. It’s subtle yet obvious, distant yet close... In short, it’s a feeling of wanting to be near him, to be conquered by him.

While everyone was cheering for Zhao Rong, the most formidable Alchemist in the True Martial Sect, Teacher Johnny, collapsed onto the ground.

He slapped himself across the face. This has to be a dream, right? I’m a senior Alchemist who has dominated the True Martial Sect for decades, unmatched in alchemy. How could I possibly lose to a mere brat?

Moreover, what Teacher Johnny couldn’t comprehend was how the Elixir he concocted not only failed to level him up but actually caused him to drop two levels. What he didn’t know was that when Zhao Rong’s pressure cooker exploded, the impure dregs from within had shot directly into his Medicinal Cauldron. As a result, his high-purity ingredients were contaminated by the residue, causing the Elixir that should have granted a level-up to do the exact opposite. The pill that was supposed to help him advance instead made him lose two levels.

In stark contrast to the disheartened and defeated Johnny sitting on the ground, Zhao Rong was lifted by his fellow students and tossed high into the air.

The students cheered relentlessly. ”Someone finally defeated the arrogant Teacher Johnny! Someone finally showed him his place!”

”Zhao Rong’s rise means the end of Teacher Johnny! Only a true powerhouse like Zhao Rong can lead our True Martial Sect to the apex. As for people like Johnny, who are more of a hindrance than a help, they should be kicked out of the sect immediately!”

”Exactly! Let’s all sign a petition and submit it to the Sect Leader, Mage Yizhen, asking him to dismiss Teacher Johnny! From now on, we’ll learn the Art of Alchemy from Zhao Rong!”

Listening to the mockery from the students who once admired and respected him, Johnny felt his heart bleed. He gnashed his teeth in agony.

Even if all my students have abandoned me, their teacher, shouldn’t the three beauties—Miss Lili, Xuelian, and Yu Lan—at least show me some pity? After all, the only reason I failed was because I was trying to impress them! I wanted to put Zhao Rong down to show them how powerful and incredible I am, to make them admire me, look up to me, and even fall for me.

However, when Johnny turned his gaze toward the three women, he was met with their merciless words and expressions.

Miss Lili glanced at him with disdain. ”That piece of trash isn’t even fit to be compared to one of Brother Zhao Rong’s toes.”

Yu Lan treated him like thin air. ”How can someone like him be a teacher? I don’t think he even deserves to be called a man.”

Although Xuelian didn’t attack him with words, her actions inflicted an even deeper, more unforgettable pain. To prevent people from stepping in a pile of dog droppings on the ground, she took a shovel, scooped it up, and prepared to fling it far away. However, being unskilled with the tool, she lost control of her swing and sent the glob of dung flying directly at Johnny. Caught completely off guard, he was struck squarely in the face. Wiping the filth from his cheek, he stared at Xuelian and stammered, ”I’ve been humiliated by women before, but I’ve never met one so cruel as to use dog dung to do it!”

Facing the crowd’s mockery and humiliation, Johnny chose to retreat in silence.

Meanwhile, Zhao Rong took his place at the lectern. He began to explain some of the key factors in alchemy, presenting his own new concepts.

A female student stood up, looking at him with admiration. ”Teacher Zhao, I’d like to ask, for those of us who don’t have the status or the money to buy a large medicine cauldron to practice alchemy, should we follow your example and get a cheap and effective pressure cooker?”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong nodded immediately. ”To be honest, the large medicine cauldron is mostly for show. In terms of alchemical principles, a pressure cooker’s rubber gasket provides far superior sealing and pressure tolerance.”

His words were met with a round of applause from all the students present.

A student from a poor family said, ”A large medicine cauldron is so expensive! If we had known a pressure cooker was more effective, we would have all gone to the supermarket long ago to buy one. We could carry it with us and practice alchemy anytime!”

A female student who was quite infatuated with Zhao Rong added, ”That’s right! Zhao Rong’s arrival is going to elevate the alchemy skills of everyone in the True Martial Sect!”

”Yeah! And once our alchemy skills improve, we won’t have anything to fear from our rivals, the Wild Wolf Sect!”

Just then, a nerdy-looking student stood up and asked, ”Teacher Zhao, if we don’t need a large medicine cauldron for alchemy anymore, does that mean we don’t need Samadhi Fire either?”

Zhao Rong did a quick search on his phone and then explained, ”Well, it depends. If our cultivation level is relatively low and we can’t produce Samadhi Fire, we can use gasoline and firewood to heat the pressure cooker directly. However, if your cultivation level is high enough, it’s still best to use Samadhi Fire. After all, when concocting high-level elixirs, the effects of Samadhi Fire are demonstrably superior to an ordinary flame.”

The infatuated student was very satisfied with his answer.

I’ve always had a crush on my teachers, and now that Brother Zhao Rong is my teacher... why do I feel like I’m experiencing my first love all over again?

Meanwhile, as Zhao Rong was sharing some alchemy knowledge he had looked up online, a group was strolling leisurely across the grass not far away. It was the second-in-command of the True Martial Sect, Mage Er Zhen, accompanied by his favorite disciples: Wang Jingang, Blondie, and Big Silly.

Mage Er Zhen and his retinue were still completely unaware that Zhao Rong had already killed the serpentine Medusa. They naively believed that even a great man like Zhao Rong would fall into Medusa’s trap, since heroes always have a weakness for beautiful women.

Er Zhen walked in front, admiring the wildflowers. ”My dear disciple,” he said to Wang Jingang, ”what method do you think Medusa will use to kill Zhao Rong?”

Wang Jingang followed behind like a dutiful lackey. Bowing his head, he said obsequiously, ”Master, I believe Medusa will certainly use her most vicious and powerful technique, Black Snake Heart Extracting, to finish him.”

The so-called Black Snake Heart Extracting involved Medusa breathing her Snake Qi into Zhao Rong’s mouth to leave him in a daze. Then, in bed, she would use the hairpin from her hair to pierce his heart.

Hearing this, Er Zhen said cheerfully, ”It seems that brat Zhao Rong is doomed this time.”

Wang Jingang gave his assurance. ”Rest assured, Master. Even if that brat sprouted wings, he couldn’t escape Medusa’s clutches.”

Blondie chimed in from behind, ”Senior Brother is right. Medusa has successfully killed many impressive men before, and any one of them was more formidable than Zhao Rong. If she could kill all of them, how could she possibly fail to kill a mere bodyguard like him?”

Hearing this, Er Zhen laughed heartily. ”Blondie, you finally said something that makes sense! My thoughts exactly. Not only will Medusa kill Zhao Rong, but those beautiful women with him will also be unable to escape her wrath.”

Wang Jingang added, ”You’re right, Master. Medusa may be beautiful, but the one thing she cannot tolerate in this life is a woman more beautiful than herself. So, in my opinion, whether it’s Miss Lili, Yu Lan, or Xuelian, none of them will escape death.”

At the thought that Yu Lan, the beauty he secretly adored, might also fall victim to Medusa, Big Silly let out a few quiet sobs. He wanted to speak up, but he knew that whenever he opened his mouth, he said the wrong thing and got beaten by his master and senior brother. So, despite his worry for Yu Lan, he dared not utter a word.

Though he remained silent, his sobs were still audible to Mage Er Zhen.

Er Zhen whirled around. ”Damn it! Medusa killing Zhao Rong is something to celebrate! Why are you crying? Are you sympathizing with Zhao Rong?” With that, he kicked Big Silly, sending him tumbling to the ground.

Sprawled on the ground, Big Silly was utterly dejected. I get beaten if I talk... and I still get beaten if I don’t... So what am I supposed to do, talk or not?

As he lay there wallowing in his misery, he suddenly saw a figure in the distance. It was Zhao Rong—the very person who was supposed to have been killed by Medusa—standing before hundreds of students, giving a lecture.

Incredulous, Big Silly rubbed his eyes and exclaimed, ”No way! Zhao Rong isn’t dead? And he’s a teacher now?”

At that moment, Er Zhen and Wang Jingang were discussing how they should go about collecting Zhao Rong’s corpse. When they heard Big Silly’s outrageous claim, they didn’t hesitate. They strode over and proceeded to beat the daylights out of him. With blood streaming from his nose and mouth, Big Silly sobbed, ”If I stay quiet, I get beaten. If I lie, I get beaten. And now I get beaten for telling the truth...”

Wang Jingang glared down at the battered Big Silly and warned, ”Damn it, haven’t I already told you that Medusa killed Zhao Rong? Why are you still spouting such nonsense? Don’t you trust a professional assassin like Medusa?”

Er Zhen shot a look at the half-dead Big Silly on the ground. ”Zhao Rong must be dead. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be skipping class.”

Just as Er Zhen and Wang Jingang were both convinced that Zhao Rong was undoubtedly dead, they heard a chorus of voices from the alchemy classroom nearby. ”Thank you, Teacher Zhao Rong! Goodbye, Teacher!”

Hearing this, they snapped their heads toward the distant lectern. There, they saw Zhao Rong, not only alive and well, but full of vigor as he taught the students the fundamentals of alchemy.
