Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 83: Chapter 73: Men and Women Pairing, Effortless Cultivation

When Alchemy Instructor Johnny brought the Medicinal Cauldron to the front, he put on an air of superiority. ”Everyone knows that our True Martial Sect is weakest in alchemy when compared to our enemy, the Wild Wolf Sect. And within the True Martial Sect, I, Instructor Johnny, am the most skilled master of all. So today, I will not only teach you how to concoct Elixirs, but I will also demonstrate for all to see how my masterful hands can turn dross into gold.”

In stark contrast to Johnny’s pretentious charade, Zhao Rong stood beside him looking completely serious, the very picture of a diligent student eager to learn.

Although Zhao Rong was focused on learning alchemy, the sight of his earnest expression immediately annoyed Johnny.

He thought to himself, Zhao Rong, my chance to humiliate you has finally arrived.

So, in front of everyone, Instructor Johnny began to make thinly veiled insults. ”Classmates, since you have all come to our True Martial Sect, you are clearly here to cultivate. But some students bring three beautiful women with them... Tell me, if any of you cultivators had three beauties by your side every day, would you still have the focus to cultivate?”

As soon as he finished, Johnny thought, With these words, everyone will surely ridicule Zhao Rong... They’ll laugh at him for being unable to cultivate properly with beautiful women around.

However, Johnny was stunned when the students replied in unison, ”With men and women working together, cultivation is a breeze! If we had beautiful women around, not only would we be motivated to cultivate, we’d cultivate even better!”

Johnny was instantly embarrassed to have his own words thrown back in his face by the students. Blushing, he said, ”Fine! Even if this kid Zhao Rong can manage to cultivate while bringing three beauties along... I’m telling you, even if he can cultivate, he definitely can’t succeed in alchemy.”

After speaking, Johnny looked Zhao Rong up and down. ”Zhao Rong, if I gave you a Medicinal Cauldron right now, could you produce a level-up Elixir?”

Zhao Rong was about to speak, but Johnny hastily interjected, ”Zhao Rong, even if I gave you a Medicinal Cauldron and the herbs... you definitely couldn’t concoct an incredible level-up Elixir like I can.”

Johnny felt certain his words would make Zhao Rong back down. Yet, he never expected that Zhao Rong, who had never performed alchemy before, would actually say, ”Whether or not I can beat you is something we’ll only know if we try.”

Zhao Rong finished with a humble expression.

Hearing that Zhao Rong, who had never concocted an Elixir in his life, wanted to compete with him in alchemy, Johnny burst out laughing.

”Zhao Rong,” he scoffed, ”you’re just a newborn calf that doesn’t fear the tiger, acting recklessly without a second thought! Let me tell you, within this True Martial Sect, only a genius like myself can concoct level-up Elixirs! And you, a wet-behind-the-ears rookie, want to compete with me? You truly don’t know the immensity of heaven and earth.”

After speaking, Johnny thought, This ought to be enough to make Zhao Rong back down.

But to his surprise, Zhao Rong simply replied, ”How will we know unless we try? We can have an alchemy competition right here, in front of all the students. We’ll see whose elixir provides a faster level-up—yours or mine.”

Johnny glared at Zhao Rong. ”You really want to compete with me?”

With a determined gaze, Zhao Rong met Johnny’s eyes and said, ”Let’s compete and see who comes out on top.”

Hearing this, Johnny roared with laughter. ”Zhao Rong, if you can beat me, I’ll call you ’Grandpa’ on the spot and then get the hell out of this school.”

Zhao Rong listened to his words and replied calmly, ”Instructor Johnny, there’s no need to be so absolute...”

Johnny just laughed harder. ”Zhao Rong, I’m laying it all on the line! If I lose, I’ll call you Grandpa and get the hell out of this school. Now, what about you?”

Zhao Rong feigned a look of terror. ”Oh, I’m so scared. What should I do, Instructor?”

Confident in his victory, Johnny declared, ”Zhao Rong, if I win, you will lick my shoes and then get lost!”

Hearing such harsh terms, Zhao Rong replied, ”I agree. The loser licks the winner’s shoes.”

With that, the two glared at each other, the competition about to begin.

The moment Zhao Rong agreed to the match, the surrounding students began to worry for him. They felt that no matter how strong Zhao Rong was, he was nothing compared to Instructor Johnny, a man of exceptional alchemical talent.

At the same time, Tao Hua also expressed her doubts. ”Hero Zhao Rong, I know you’re talented in cultivation, but that doesn’t mean you’re talented in alchemy! You shouldn’t compete against Instructor Johnny. You’re definitely no match for him.”

Lili also said worriedly, ”Brother Zhao Rong, please don’t compete with him! He’s an Alchemy Instructor, and you’re just a student.”

Xuelian was even more fearful. ”Brother Zhao Rong, if you lose, you’ll have to lick his shoes! If that happens, the reputation you’ve worked so hard to build in the True Martial Sect will be utterly ruined by this one failure!”

Despite the concerned chatter and the lack of faith from those around him, Zhao Rong simply stepped forward. ”Instructor Johnny, can we begin now?”

Seeing Zhao Rong act so recklessly, Johnny sneered inwardly. Zhao Rong, it seems you really don’t know your place. You have no idea about the dirty tricks involved in alchemy... Looks like you’re not only guaranteed to lose today, but you’re also guaranteed to be licking my shoes.

Thinking this, Johnny said with a smile, ”Alright, let’s begin.”

With that, Johnny announced the so-called rules of the competition. He and Zhao Rong would each get one Medicinal Cauldron and an identical set of herbs. Whoever concocted an Elixir in the shortest time would get one point. After consumption, whoever’s Elixir raised their cultivation by one level first would get a second point.

As he spoke, Johnny pushed a Medicinal Cauldron over to Zhao Rong.

Before both of them now stood Medicinal Cauldrons and herbs that looked identical on the outside. But while they looked the same, they were completely different.

Johnny’s Medicinal Cauldron was forged from cast iron, perfect for alchemy. Zhao Rong’s cauldron, however, was made of ordinary pig iron. It would be a feat if it could even heat the herbs, let alone be used for refining an Elixir.

The herbs before them also appeared identical, but they were, in fact, two completely different types. Johnny’s pile simply consisted of highly effective and precious herbs that had been disguised to look like common ones.

Therefore, Johnny was not just determined to win this competition—victory was already in his grasp.

Thus, right before the competition started, Johnny looked at Zhao Rong with contempt and sneered, ”Zhao Rong, just you wait to lick my shoes and scram from the True Martial Sect... You’re no match for me in alchemy.”

At this moment, however, Zhao Rong had already seen through Johnny’s scheme. Furthermore, he had come prepared, having brought a Divine Alchemy Artifact with him in the trunk of his car.

As the referee gave the signal to start, Johnny immediately began his work. But while Johnny was already refining, Zhao Rong simply took out his phone and searched on Baidu: ”How can a beginner concoct a powerful Elixir?”

When everyone saw Zhao Rong, who knew nothing of alchemy, searching how to do it on Baidu, they all assumed he was doomed. Barring a miracle, Zhao Rong would definitely be licking Instructor Johnny’s shoes.

What they didn’t know was that Zhao Rong finished his search for the alchemy steps in less than a minute. Then, he went to the trunk of his car and pulled out his own Divine Artifact for alchemy.

But when everyone saw Zhao Rong’s Divine Alchemy Artifact, they were so shocked they fainted on the spot.
