Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 88: Chapter 76: Refining Divine Medicine, Advancing to Level 17_2

”Zhao Rong, stop deceiving us!” Mage Erzhen exclaimed. ”The assistant told us what happened between him and Medusa... That proves she isn’t dead at all!”

Wang Jingang’s face lit up with joy. ”I told you Medusa wouldn’t die! She’s no ordinary woman.”

Just as Mage Erzhen and Wang Jingang were convinced Medusa was still alive, the assistant suddenly took out his phone. He opened the photo gallery and pointed to a picture of a pile of snakeskin and rotten flesh.

”Zhao Rong, when I woke up, I smelled a foul stench,” he said. ”I thought the toilet was broken, but when I went into the room, I found a huge python’s skin lying there, along with some of its rotten flesh. It turns out you really did kill Medusa...”

With that, the assistant showed everyone the photo on his phone of Medusa, dissected by Zhao Rong.

When Mage Erzhen and Wang Jingang saw that Medusa had indeed been killed and dissected by Zhao Rong after her transformation, they were both stunned.

”This is impossible!” Mage Erzhen said in disbelief. ”With Zhao Rong’s strength, he couldn’t have possibly killed Medusa.”

Wang Jingang was also suspicious. ”Zhao Rong, be honest. Who was the expert you hired?”

Just as Mage Erzhen and Wang Jingang refused to believe Zhao Rong had killed Medusa, Lili took out her phone and played a video she had taken that day. When Mage Erzhen saw three beautiful women under Zhao Rong’s command spraying Medusa with high-pressure water guns filled with realgar, he was utterly convinced. ”They say Zhao Rong often achieves victory through unconventional means, and sure enough, he’s done it again.”

Wang Jingang wiped the sweat from his forehead. ”Zhao Rong, how do you have so many strange and clever tricks up your sleeve? It’s impossible to defend against you!”

Clearly, Zhao Rong’s ingenuity had brought down a tremendously powerful monster. When the assistant saw that the transformed Medusa was actually a disgusting python, he couldn’t help but recall the things she had lured him into doing with her in bed. Suddenly, he rushed to a nearby restroom and began to vomit uncontrollably. He was clearly sickened by the sordid things that had happened between him and Medusa.

At this moment, Zhao Rong patted his chest and turned to Mage Erzhen and Wang Jingang. ”Honestly, I have you two to thank. You delivered a Snake Crystal and a Snake Gallbladder to me for free, allowing me to refine a large, red Elixir that helped me advance two levels.”

Hearing this, Mage Erzhen skeptically sensed Zhao Rong’s cultivation level. To his shock, he found that Zhao Rong, who was originally at level fifteen, was now indeed a level seventeen cultivator.

When Wang Jingang realized that Zhao Rong had jumped from a level ten cultivator upon first entering the True Martial Sect to level seventeen in such a short amount of time, he was absolutely flabbergasted.

The yellow-haired man behind them also exclaimed in surprise, ”Zhao Rong, you’re already level seventeen? Does that mean your cultivation level has already surpassed our leader, Wang Jingang?”

Even though Big Dumb had just been brutally beaten by Mage Erzhen and Wang Jingang, he couldn’t help but voice his awe. ”Zhao Rong, you’re not just a cultivation genius, you’re an alchemy prodigy!”

Just as Mage Erzhen and Wang Jingang were lamenting how their scheme had backfired spectacularly, Sect Leader Yizhen slowly made his way over.

Seeing the Sect Leader approaching, Wang Jingang immediately stepped forward. He spoke up for the recently humiliated Instructor Johnny. ”Sect Leader Yizhen, as the head of our True Martial Sect, you can’t just let Zhao Rong do as he pleases! He’s a student, yet he openly humiliated our Alchemy Instructor, Johnny, in class! What’s more, he overstepped his bounds by acting as an instructor himself, misleading everyone!”

When Mage Erzhen saw that his relative, Johnny, had been bullied by Zhao Rong into running away, he immediately pleaded with the Sect Leader, ”Sect Leader, since you are in charge, you must set an example! Punish Zhao Rong in front of the entire student body and make him apologize to Instructor Johnny!”

Although Zhao Rong killed Medusa, forcing him to lose face in front of all the students and publicly apologize to Instructor Johnny would be a good way to knock him down a peg. Mage Erzhen and Wang Jingang thought.

However, they never expected the Sect Leader to immediately declare, ”Zhao Rong did the right thing today. With the skill of a genius student, he defeated Instructor Johnny, a man who has been putting on airs in our True Martial Sect for years. As the Sect Leader, not only will I hold a school-wide assembly to commend Student Zhao Rong in front of everyone, but I also want to officially announce that Alchemy Instructor Johnny is dismissed! Furthermore, Zhao Rong will take over his position and become the new Alchemy Instructor of our True Martial Sect.”

Hearing this, Mage Erzhen and Wang Jingang were dumbstruck. They couldn’t believe it. Zhao Rong had not only killed Medusa and driven away Instructor Johnny, but he was also becoming the new Alchemy Instructor of the True Martial Sect?

Wang Jingang and Mage Erzhen stared at each other, their faces flushed and necks thick with anger.

When Zhao Rong heard that the Sect Leader was appointing him as the sect’s Alchemy Instructor, he said in surprise, ”Sect Leader, my smattering of alchemy knowledge is all stuff I looked up on Baidu at the last minute. If you really make me the Alchemy Instructor, I’m worried I won’t be able to handle the job.”

Hearing this, the Sect Leader immediately pulled an ancient-looking book from his robes, one that appeared to be a thousand years old, and tossed it to him. ”Zhao Rong, as long as you study the contents of this book diligently, you will definitely become a high-level Alchemist.”

Seeing the ancient artifact the Sect Leader had handed him, Zhao Rong said excitedly, ”Then I shall respectfully do as commanded.”

Seeing the Sect Leader give the True Martial Sect’s heirloom, the Great Alchemy Method, to Zhao Rong, Mage Erzhen was furious. The entire reason he wanted to become the Sect Leader was to get his hands on that sacred text. But now, the Sect Leader had simply given it to Zhao Rong.

When Wang Jingang saw Zhao Rong receive the peerless manual, his eyes burned with envy.

In this one conflict, Zhao Rong had not only killed Medusa, obtained a Snake Crystal and a Snake Gallbladder, refined an Elixir, and advanced two levels, but he had also become the first person in many years to be made an Alchemy Instructor through exceptional appointment. Furthermore, he had obtained the True Martial Sect’s legendary heirloom, the Great Alchemy Method.

Just as Zhao Rong felt that happiness had come almost too quickly, Sect Leader Yizhen announced that all disciples of the True Martial Sect were to assemble for a grand meeting to publicly commend Zhao Rong for his heroic deeds.
