Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 99: Chapter 85: If the tiger doesn’t show his might, he will be mistaken for a sick cat

Zhao Rong frantically rushed back to the True Martial Sect. However, the moment he entered, he ran head-on into Hu Jie, who was strutting around arrogantly with a few of his lackeys and some gangster girls. He was boasting to everyone about how he had just ”taken care of” Zhao Rong.

It turned out that the person Hu Jie had encountered was an imposter, and his courage to confront the fake Zhao Rong was born entirely out of a misunderstanding.

At that time, Miss Lili, Yu Lan, and Xuelian were strolling through the sect’s grounds with the fake Zhao Rong. Miss Lili was quite puzzled. The normally humorous and mischievous Brother Zhao Rong was acting strangely today; he hadn’t said a single word since they had come out.

So, Miss Lili asked the imposter, ”Brother Zhao Rong, what’s wrong with you today? Are you not feeling well? Why aren’t you talking?”

As Miss Lili questioned him, Yu Lan also sensed that Zhao Rong was not his usual self. She chimed in, ”Brother Zhao Rong, are you in a bad mood today?”

Xuelian was perplexed as well. The Brother Zhao Rong she knew always enjoyed looking at beautiful women, but today he wasn’t even glancing at any of the beauties around them. ”Brother Zhao Rong,” she asked, ”if you don’t feel like hanging out with us, we can just do it another time. That’s fine.”

Faced with the concern of the three beauties, the fake Zhao Rong still dared not make a peep. The imposter had been hired by a chubby man, who, before leaving with the real Zhao Rong, had given him specific instructions: ”Your height, appearance, and mannerisms are identical to Zhao Rong’s. The only difference is your voice. As long as you stay silent and don’t make a sound when you’re with the three beauties, they won’t discover that you’re an imposter.” Determined to complete his mission perfectly, the fake Zhao Rong heeded the chubby man’s warning and remained completely silent.

When the girls saw that no matter how much they expressed concern or tried to tease him, ”Brother Zhao Rong” remained as unresponsive as a statue, they started to grow suspicious. Even though the imposter looked almost identical to the real Zhao Rong, their woman’s intuition told them something was off. They just couldn’t quite put their finger on what it was.

Just then, Hu Jie happened to walk over with three new beauties of his own.

The moment Hu Jie, who had been swaggering around cockily, saw Zhao Rong with the three girls, he immediately turned and fled in terror.

As he ran, he thought, If Zhao Rong and his girls catch me again, they’ll splash that makeup remover on my new dates! Won’t my three new beauties be exposed then?

But as Hu Jie was trying to escape, the girls called out to him. ”Hu Jie, get over here!” Miss Lili shouted.

Hearing Miss Lili call his name, Hu Jie was so scared he scurried over at once. ”Miss Lili, I’m begging you!” he pleaded. ”Please, don’t splash makeup remover on my girls! Otherwise, I’ll be humiliated in front of everyone all over again!”

Hearing him out, Miss Lili stated flatly, ”Hu Jie, if you don’t want us to splash makeup remover on those beauties of yours, then you must agree to one request.”

Upon hearing this, Hu Jie nodded frantically. ”As long as you don’t use makeup remover on them and expose their true faces, I’ll agree to anything you ask!”

Miss Lili smiled, then pointed to the person beside her and said, ”Hu Jie, my request is that you beat up Brother Zhao Rong. Right now.”

When Hu Jie heard that Miss Lili was actually ordering him to beat up Zhao Rong, he nearly pissed his pants in terror. ”Miss Lili, you can’t be serious!” he stammered in horror. ”Zhao Rong is a living legend in the True Martial Sect, a peerless hero! The moment he arrived, he humiliated me, killed Voldemort, captured the Turtle Spirit, and thrashed Yellow Hair and Wang Jingang... You want me to beat up someone that formidable? You’re asking me to get myself killed!”

Of course, Hu Jie had no idea that the man before him was an imposter, merely a body double for the real Zhao Rong. The three girls, on the other hand, had come up with this devious test precisely because they were unsure about the ”Brother Zhao Rong” standing with them.

Seeing that Hu Jie was completely terrified, Miss Lili turned to the imposter. ”Brother Zhao Rong, since Hu Jie doesn’t dare to touch you, how about you beat him up for us?”

After speaking, Miss Lili whispered to the other two girls, ”Yu Lan, Xuelian, doesn’t Brother Zhao Rong seem a bit like a body double today? Or maybe a wax figure?”

Yu Lan nodded in agreement. ”Lili, you’re right. I feel like this person with us is just a stand-in. He’s not the Brother Zhao Rong we know.”

”Exactly,” Xuelian added. ”We have to test him and see if he’s the real Brother Zhao Rong.”

Meanwhile, when Hu Jie heard Miss Lili ask ”Zhao Rong” to beat him up, he began to beg for mercy. ”Miss Lili, I’m only a Level 12 cultivator, and Zhao Rong is at least a Level 17 cultivator! He could crush me without even trying!”
