Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 71: Chapter 63 Insecticide, The Ultimate Magical Beast Slayer Weapon

The Gecko Man swung his sword down, but Zhao Rong swiftly sidestepped, neatly dodging the attack. Even so, the blade carved a deep trench in the ground where he had just been standing. When Zhao Rong saw how powerful the Dharma Sword was, he couldn’t help but inhale sharply.

Good thing I dodged. Otherwise, there wouldn’t even be enough of me left to gather my ashes.

Seeing Zhao Rong evade his strike, the Gecko Man immediately gave chase and swung again. Zhao Rong met the second attack with a forward somersault, evading the Dharma Sword by a hair’s breadth. Though this strike also missed him, it slammed into the villa’s staircase, cleaving the steel-reinforced concrete in two.

At that moment, Zhao Rong realized that in all his battles, he had never faced such a powerful opponent. He shouted to the three women upstairs, ”Quick, hide! This one’s tough!”

When the three beauties heard his warning, they had no intention of hiding.

”Brother Zhao Rong, I’ll fight alongside you!” Lili declared.

”I want to help you kill the Gecko Man!” Xuelian added.

Just then, Yu Lan emerged from her bath. Clad only in a towel, she leaped from the second floor to land beside Zhao Rong. ”Brother Zhao Rong, I may be a woman, but I’m a fifth-level cultivator now. I will fight by your side.”

When the Gecko Man saw that the unimposing Zhao Rong actually had three top-tier beauties ready to fight for him, his eyes turned green with envy.

While the Gecko Man was distracted, Zhao Rong seized the opportunity. He assumed a horse stance, gathered energy in his Dantian, and then pushed out with both palms, shouting, ”Push Hands, Strip Garment!”

In an instant, a gust of wind from Zhao Rong’s attack blew the Gecko Man’s sturdy clothes away, leaving him in nothing but his underwear.

”Damn it,” the now-undressed Gecko Man exclaimed, awkwardly covering his private parts. ”I’ve seen some strange moves, but never one this bizarre!”

Although Zhao Rong’s ”Push Hands, Strip Garment” technique didn’t injure the Gecko Man, it blew his clothes away, hampering his combat effectiveness. He was now forced to fight with one hand while using the other to cover himself.

Facing the Gecko Man’s aggressive onslaught, Zhao Rong, Lili, Yu Lan, and Xuelian quickly formed a circle, trapping him inside. When the Gecko Man, a formidable male magical beast, saw he was being surrounded and attacked by a group of women, he spat, ”Damn it! All my previous battles were against men. Today, I’m being forced to fight women.” His eyes filled with disdain for the three beauties.

Just as the Gecko Man was looking down on his female opponents, Tao Hua launched a flying kick from behind, aiming straight for the back of his head. Her foot connected squarely, sending him flying into a nearby wall. After landing gracefully, Tao Hua dusted off her leg. ”That’ll teach you to underestimate women. My Spiral Leg Kick is no joke.”

The Spiral Leg Kick was a low-level Yellow-Ranked Martial Technique. While it wasn’t powerful enough to seriously injure the Gecko Man, the blow was still enough to stagger him. As he slumped against the wall, his Dharma Sword clattered to the ground.

Seeing this, Zhao Rong yelled, ”Yu Lan, quick, get the sword! Without it, his combat power will be significantly diminished.”

Zhao Rong had clearly realized the weapon’s importance. However, just as Yu Lan, who was closest, started to run for it, the Gecko Man leaped up and landed right in front of the Dharma Sword.

Planting his foot on the blade, the Gecko Man snarled, ”Curse you, humans! You think you can steal my Dharma Sword? Impossible! Do you even know how I got this?” As it turned out, the Dharma Sword was no ordinary blade. It was an extremely precious weapon forged from Meteorite Iron found in the Demon Beast Mountain Range.

But just as the Gecko Man was mocking them, a hand suddenly shot out from under a nearby sofa, snatched the Dharma Sword, and retracted just as quickly. When Zhao Rong saw that the thief hiding under the sofa was his assistant, he couldn’t help but laugh. ”His cultivation may not be great, but his positioning is impeccable. He always shows up in the most critical spots.”

The Gecko Man stared in shock at the empty space beneath his foot. ”Damn it, does this villa have hidden traps? Where did my Dharma Sword go?”

While the Gecko Man was distracted, Zhao Rong leaped into the air and delivered a 360-degree spinning kick. Caught completely off guard, the Gecko Man was sent flying, crashing heavily onto a set of nearby steps. Seeing their chance, the three women grabbed what they could find—chunks of broken concrete—and hurled them at the downed Gecko Man. One piece hit him in the mouth, knocking out two of his front teeth. Another struck his eye, blinding it instantly. A third, even more brutal, hit him squarely in his vitals.

The Gecko Man howled in agony as he struggled back to his feet. Just when Zhao Rong and the four women thought victory was within their grasp, he suddenly began to transform. In a flash, the humanoid form swelled into a massive, monstrous gecko.

This giant gecko was ferociously violent. With a single whip of its tail, it swatted three of the women aside. Its long tongue shot out, striking Tao Hua and sending her flying. Seeing all four women knocked to the ground, Zhao Rong lunged forward and mounted the giant gecko’s back, hammering its head with his iron fists. But the creature’s hide was too thick, and Zhao Rong’s frantic blows did little damage.

Suddenly, the gecko bucked violently, throwing Zhao Rong off its back. It surveyed the scene—three women down, one knocked away, and Zhao Rong tossed aside—and let out a triumphant laugh. ”Humans, you’re all dead tonight! You think I’m just some ordinary magical beast? I’ll have you know, I am the Insect King of the Demon Beast Mountain Range!”

Hearing the beast declare itself the ”Insect King,” Zhao Rong was struck with an idea. He immediately thought of the perfect ”divine artifact” for the job: insecticide. He hurriedly shouted to Xuelian, who was closest to the stairs, ”Quick, get me a bottle of insecticide from the storeroom!”

Xuelian froze. ”Brother Zhao Rong, what do you need insecticide for?”

”Just go, there’s no time!” Zhao Rong urged. ”And grab the biggest bottle they have!”

Hearing the urgency in his voice, Xuelian scrambled up the stairs to the storeroom. Now back in its true form, the gecko was overwhelmingly powerful, and it seemed no one could stop it. Just as it was about to bite Zhao Rong to death and stomp on Tao Hua, Xuelian threw a large bottle down from the second floor.

”Brother Zhao Rong!” she yelled. ”This one is imported from America! It’s super effective!”

Zhao Rong caught the bottle just as the gecko lunged, its massive, blood-red maw opening wide to devour him. At the last possible second, Zhao Rong raised the can of American-made insecticide and sprayed wildly into the creature’s face. His hands were a blur as he emptied the entire can on the gecko. Instantly, the once-invincible monster froze solid, its jaws still open in a silent roar.

Seeing the previously arrogant Insect King frozen before him, Zhao Rong let out a sigh of relief. He casually blew a puff of air at the creature. With that, the giant gecko toppled over, landing flat on its back with its legs in the air. Zhao Rong got up, looking from the massive, upended beast to the can of imported insecticide in his hand.

This American stuff really works, he mused.

Lying on its back with blood trickling from its mouth, the gecko struggled to speak. ”I’ve seen... people killed with swords... with guns... even with bare hands... But I... the Insect King... never imagined... I’d be killed... with insecticide...” Halfway through the sentence, its voice failed, and it fell silent.

Although the gecko was down, Zhao Rong knew it was still a threat. He had to finish it off for good, or he wouldn’t sleep peacefully. Xuelian brought a cleaver from the kitchen, but after hacking at it for a while, Zhao Rong found he couldn’t even scratch the beast’s thick hide.

Seeing the useless kitchen knife fail to pierce his skin, the gecko managed a faint, mocking laugh. ”If you can’t kill me within an hour... I’ll revive... and none of you will escape.”

Just as the gecko was gloating over its last hope, the assistant crawled out from under the sofa. He walked over and handed the Dharma Sword to Zhao Rong. ”Since the cleaver won’t cut it,” he said, ”try this awesome sword.”

The Insect King stared in disbelief as the assistant emerged. He suddenly remembered the person he’d met in the darkness earlier, and a horrifying realization dawned on him. He stared at Zhao Rong and the assistant. Damn it, you humans are too cunning! You played a double act to trick me! The assistant made me think Zhao Rong was weak, so I let my guard down. But the real Zhao Rong is this strong, and he loves using bizarre tactics!

While the gecko was lost in thought, Zhao Rong, now armed with the Dharma Sword, ascended to the second floor. Gripping the sword with both hands, he leaped. Now a level-fifteen cultivator augmented by the Dragon Crystal, Zhao Rong put all his power into the strike, plunging the sword straight through the magical beast’s heart.

With a final, piercing scream, a torrent of foul-smelling blood erupted from the gecko’s body. The level-seventeen Magic Beast Gecko Man had been slain.

After Zhao Rong killed the magical beast, a strange item suddenly fell out of its corpse. He walked over, picked it up, and turned to Tao Hua. ”What is this? Why does it look somewhat like a donkey’s treasure or a horse’s treasure?”
