Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Under the guidance of the Snow Leopard, Chen Wen walked for a while.

On the eastern side of the mountain where the Snow Leopard had descended before.

Chen Wen found the valley mentioned by the Snow Leopard.

The valley here is considered a branch of that mountain, with cliffs on both sides and a very deep valley in the middle.

Overall, it’s quite a large valley.

The entrance to the valley is artificially piled with stones to prevent large animals from approaching.

Just seeing the valley’s appearance made Chen Wen’s eyes light up.

This place is nice!

It falls a bit short compared to the sanctuary he imagined, but it is much safer.

”Let’s go in and take a look.”

Chen Wen removed some of the stones at the valley entrance to allow the Snow Leopard and himself to pass through.

After entering the valley, they faced a relatively narrow path.

Chen Wen estimated that it could barely accommodate an off-road vehicle to pass through.

There were many stones on the road, looking like debris that had fallen from higher up.

Seeing this, Chen Wen furrowed his brows: ”It seems this place might not be particularly safe and should be abandoned, really. If we camp here, we have to watch out for falling rocks from both sides.”

But as they ventured deeper, the cliffs slowly parted, and the view opened up.

”This is like a narrow-necked vase structure; the entrance is narrow, but inside it’s quite spacious.”

Chen Wen said, extending his hand to let the Snow Leopard follow him.

The Snow Leopard seemed familiar with the place but also somewhat unfamiliar and was slightly lost in thought.

”Here, I remember this place.”

The Snow Leopard beckoned Chen Wen to come closer: ”This is where those humans who saved me rested.”

Upon getting closer, Chen Wen saw the situation more clearly.

Yes, it was remnants of an abandoned campsite.

From the remaining traces, Chen Wen discerned that these should be traditional tents of Tibetan nomads.

Somewhat similar to yurts but still differ in overall appearance.

Both are portable and easy to set up and take down.

Additionally, there are noticeable features characteristic of Tibetans around—colorful prayer flags.

Chen Wen briefly examined the remnants of the structures and roughly judged the situation of the Tibetan nomads who camped here.

This must have been a family with not many members, probably only around four or five people.

Because the living structure doesn’t occupy much area.

And on the northwest side of the living area, namely the inside of the valley, Chen Wen saw plenty of ruins resembling cattle or sheep pens.

Near the remnants of cattle or sheep pens, lots of dried cattle and sheep dung can be found.

A lot.

Fuel for tonight and even for the next ten to twenty days is readily available!

Upon seeing these things, Chen Wen couldn’t help but think excitedly.

Even if he doesn’t find a sanctuary, this trip wasn’t in vain!

However, when looking at the lower layer of the cattle and sheep dung, Chen Wen noticed signs that the bottom layer had been completely decomposed.

After checking out the dung.

Chen Wen surveyed the valley and soon discovered a cave deep within.

The entrance of the cave was similarly blocked by stones and was very dark, but he could vaguely see some things inside.

Chen Wen took a look, feeling that these were likely things like tables, chairs, and benches.

Recalling Tibetan customs, sky burial is popular here, which involves dismembering the deceased and offering them to predatory birds like vultures after a series of rituals, aligning with the Bodhisattva’s selfless offering to all beings.

Next is water burial, although this method is more common in Southern Tibet.

There aren’t many birds of prey over there.

Then there’s cremation, which in Tibetan tradition is reserved for nobility and esteemed monks.

As for earth burial, it’s the least favored burial method by Tibetans.

Because in their traditional belief, earth burial causes the soul to be absorbed by the land, preventing ascension and leading to an inability to reincarnate.

Thus, earth burial is a form of punishment for the deceased and is considered the most disgraceful burial method.

Therefore, Chen Wen isn’t too worried about this being a Tibetan burial site, recklessly disturbing the place.

He carefully moved the stones aside.

As many stones were moved away, the cave gradually revealed its full view.

”Looks quite ordinary.”

Chen Wen murmured softly, and then casually moved more stones aside.

From what he saw, this looked like a room about twenty square meters.

Tables, chairs, and benches were placed in the middle of the room.

Besides that, there wasn’t anything else here.

Braving himself, Chen Wen walked in, and the Snow Leopard curiously followed, unable to explore due to being severely injured at the time.

Therefore, it had no impression of this place.

After carefully searching the interior, Chen Wen confirmed that this should be just an ordinary cave.

Inside the cave, a square wooden table and six benches were the only things.

”This place... has been abandoned a long time.”

Chen Wen picked up a bench and checked it; it was covered in a thick layer of dust!

Even though this is in the wild, the accumulated dust is far from the amount of ten days or half a month.

Furthermore, the table itself showed some signs of decay.

The time should be over a year.

”Well, this place is actually quite suitable for a shelter.”

Seeing such a situation, Chen Wen couldn’t help but say.

On one hand, this place is definitely abandoned, and no one would come close or live here.

On the other hand, the place’s safety and concealment are at their peak.

Common animals can’t find this place; even if they do, the stones piled at the valley entrance and at the cave entrance form two lines of defense.

Making it difficult for them to approach silently.

Thus, Chen Wen doesn’t need to worry about animal attacks.

As long as a fire is set at the cave entrance, there’s not even a need for night watch.

”If there’s water nearby, this place would be the perfect shelter!”

Chen Wen exclaimed.

After temporarily deciding to use this place as his temporary shelter.

Chen Wen exited the valley and began calling the Golden Eagle.

The Golden Eagle, soaring in the sky, quickly found Chen Wen using its powerful eyesight.

It swooped down and reported its findings to Chen Wen.

However, the two locations mentioned by the Golden Eagle were quite ordinary and nowhere near this valley.

So Chen Wen didn’t plan to go check out the places the Golden Eagle mentioned.

He brought the Golden Eagle into the valley.

”Let’s not rush today; let’s regard this place as a temporary shelter first.”

Chen Wen said to the Golden Eagle: ”Afterwards, have some argali meat, then fly up and check around to see if there’s a water source nearby, preferably a clean one.”

”By the way, do you remember the method I taught you at the hotel to determine if a water source is usable?”

Upon hearing Chen Wen’s question, the Golden Eagle called out: ”Of course, I remember! I’m quite familiar with it!”

”First, observe the color, then smell the odor, finally taste a little, and confirm that there’s no peculiar smell, which means it’s drinkable water!”

The Golden Eagle selected certain words from Chen Wen’s body, besides longevity, to enhance its perception ability and speed.

Its perception ability is now very powerful.

Upon confirming the Golden Eagle remembers these, Chen Wen took out the argali meat, cut a portion to feed the Golden Eagle, and saved another for the Snow Leopard.

For himself, he chopped the remaining argali meat and took out a package of military rations.

Today, Chen Wen didn’t plan to continue moving.

He wants to take advantage of today and tomorrow morning to process the argali meat, cook it, and eat it.

Simultaneously, he needs to figure out a way to get some water.

While above the snow line, Chen Wen obtained water by eating snow rather than drinking from his water bottle.

But below the snow line, he’s already consumed most of the water in the bottle.

Now he must find a way to locate a water source.
