Wilderness Survival with Druid System

After leading the pony for a few laps, Chen Wen also tried many other commands.

This greedy little mare was unexpectedly docile and cooperative, to his surprise.

This made Chen Wen quite delighted.

After feeding the majority of the corn kernels to the little mare, Chen Wen led her to a place far from the herd.

After eating a mouthful of corn, the little mare habitually glanced at the direction of her herd.

Feeling she was a bit far from the herd, the little mare started to make her way back to them.

But at this moment, Chen Wen wouldn’t let her leave so easily.

Chen Wen extended his hand and gently tugged at the mane on the little mare’s neck.

This action, if done by an ordinary person, could be quite a taboo.

The little mare might get scared or angry due to this slightly threatening action and run away from here.

But Chen Wen was different.

During feeding, he had already attempted this move.

If the little mare showed resistance, he’d retreat with the food, forcing her to follow.

If the mare didn’t resist, Chen Wen would immediately feed her.

As a result, under Chen Wen’s training, the little mare had already associated this action with the feeding signal.

She stopped, looking at Chen Wen.

And Chen Wen quickly gave her some food.

”Sigh, why aren’t you a special animal? So greedy.”

Chen Wen sighed, reaching out to stroke the little mare’s head.

At this moment, a voice from the system flashed through his mind.

[Taming successful]

Finally!

Looking at the little mare in front of him, Chen Wen felt a rush of emotion surge through him.

The corn kernels consumed over yesterday and today, as well as two and a half cans of corn, weren’t wasted!

The little mare seemed to sense something as well.

She stretched out her head, voluntarily nuzzling against Chen Wen, feeling a very close connection with the human in front of her.

It seemed that following this person was not worse than surviving with her herd.

Besides, following him, she could get even more delicious treats!

The little mare gently nuzzled against Chen Wen.

As Chen Wen stepped backward, she immediately followed.

Taming complete!

Chen Wen excitedly clenched his fist and took a glance at the entry provided by the little mare.

Undeniably, as the most important livestock to humans and the greatest partner to nomads, her entry was quite impressive.

Chen Wen took a look and chose the one entry he needed the most.

[Powerful Heart and Lungs (Purple): Enhances your cardiovascular function, making you better at enduring intense exercise]

Cardiovascular function refers to the ability of the heart to pump blood and the lungs to inhale oxygen.

This function directly affects the activity of the body’s organs and muscles, which is extremely important.

To put it inappropriately, the strength of a person’s athletic ability depends on the strength of their cardiovascular function.

Naturally, Chen Wen’s cardiovascular function is not weak.

Long-term high-intensity exercise, reasonable food pairing, and professional health measures have greatly enhanced Chen Wen’s cardiovascular function.

But no one would dislike further improvements in this regard.

After all, Chen Wen currently faces increasingly severe survival challenges and may continue to confront the large organization, Hunting Owl.

Besides the bug-level ability to transform, he also needs to enhance his physical strength, preparing for a direct confrontation with Hunting Owl!

Therefore, this entry is quite important for the current Chen Wen.

After selecting the entry, Chen Wen led the little mare to the camp.

Taming this little mare took almost an entire day for him.

However, the rewards were quite ample.

Chen Wen transferred some of the supplies he was carrying onto the little mare, mostly food stuff, and he instantly felt lighter.

The mare was happy to help Chen Wen carry the food because, before letting her carry it, Chen Wen had specifically waved the remaining few cans of corn kernels in front of her, letting her know what she was carrying.

This made the little mare very enthusiastic.

Having tamed the little mare, Chen Wen didn’t plan to continue staying there.

He led the little mare and the other animals forward at a faster pace downstream.

...

Five days later.

Chen Wen followed the large river he had previously found, arriving at a wider river.

The two rivers converged here, forming a mighty seasonal river.

With an imposing force, this mighty river rushed towards the northern sea.

”Getting closer to rescue!”

A glint of excitement flashed across Chen Wen’s face, and he even saw human garbage near the riverbank.

During the journey earlier, this was something he hadn’t encountered!

But as Chen Wen moved closer, these garbages left him a bit disappointed.

They weren’t fresh, mostly well-worn garbage.

Nonetheless, he was finally in an area where there were people!

Chen Wen signaled Screaming Kite to take flight and scout the situation.

Meanwhile, he led the wild horse, Taipan Snake, and Dahuang to the riverbank to check the fish situation.

But to Chen Wen’s surprise.

When he just arrived at the bushes near the riverbank, about five meters away.

The bushes here suddenly started to shake fiercely.

Chen Wen immediately grabbed his long spear, assuming a vigilant stance.

Dahuang also sensed something.

It barked threateningly and came to the front of Chen Wen, readying itself for an attack.

However, the direction of the bush shaking wasn’t moving towards Chen Wen.

On the contrary, after shaking, the culprit behind the shaking headed towards the river.

Just as Chen Wen wondered what it was.

An unexpected animal appeared for Chen Wen.

A very small crocodile!

This crocodile was small and slender, extremely incomparable to its distant relative, the Nile Crocodile, which Chen Wen had hunted before.

Of course, compared to humans, it wasn’t a small animal.

It measured nearly two meters in length, maybe about one meter eighty; Chen Wen couldn’t make an accurate judgment.

It also had the same armor as the Nile Crocodile, complete with a fierce maw and sharp teeth.

However, compared to the Nile Crocodile, it seemed like an underdeveloped young Nile Crocodile.

But its speed was not something a Nile Crocodile could match.

This little crocodile had somewhat longer limbs, resembling those of a lizard.

It sprinted rapidly on all four legs, darting swiftly towards the river.

”This...”

Information he had read flashed through Chen Wen’s mind.

Soon, he identified the animal: ”Australian Freshwater Crocodile!”

Speaking of Australian crocodiles, most people first think of the saltwater crocodile, the largest species of crocodile on earth, and also the largest existing reptile in the world.

However, many are unaware that apart from the saltwater crocodile, Australia has another type of crocodile. They live in freshwater, are smaller, and primarily feed on fish, insects, invertebrates, and small vertebrates.

These crocodiles, appearing to be a disgrace to the crocodile family, are the Australian Freshwater Crocodiles.

Though members of the crocodile family, they aren’t as terrifying as the estuarine or Nile crocodiles.

Their diet easily reveals this trait.

For humans, they pose little threat, and upon seeing humans, nine out of ten Australian Freshwater Crocodiles would choose to flee.

They don’t have the boldness of their saltwater counterparts.

Moreover, in Australia, Australian Freshwater Crocodiles are even legally allowed to be kept as pets, demonstrating their harmlessness.

Chen Wen signaled Dahuang to stay calm: ”Rest assured, it’s just a false alarm, and if it came down to a fight, you might even take it down on your own.”

Dahuang was surprised upon hearing this: Is that thing so weak?
