Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Tata walked over to Chen Wen, holding a fish spear.

He first glanced cautiously at the bay crocodile not far away, then said, ”Soon, according to our rules, the three of us will split up to search. Who do you plan to go with? Or are you thinking of acting alone?”

Searching for that man-eating bay crocodile in this area doesn’t require any local experience.

Therefore, Chen Wen decisively said, ”I plan to act alone.”

Tata seemed to have expected this answer. He handed something like a tranquilizer dart to Chen Wen.

”This gadget is for tracking. Each of us has one, plus two spares. I’m giving you one now.”

Tata said, signaling Chen Wen to keep it safe.

After seeing Chen Wen take the tracking device, Tata continued, ”If you encounter the ’monster’ bay crocodile, push the red button at the back, a barbed needle will emerge from the front, extremely sharp.”

”Then you can try to pierce it into the bay crocodile’s body. The barb will hook onto the crocodile, providing us with tracking. Of course, safety is your priority. You can also call us directly if you encounter the bay crocodile; our hearing is excellent.”

Chen Wen nodded and put away the tracking device.

Soon, under Tata’s skillful arrangement, the four of them split up in different directions, carried their equipment, and began searching for the man-eating bay crocodile.

...

Because Chen Wen had a bay crocodile as a mount, he deliberately volunteered to search for the crocodile on the western bank of the river.

This area was perhaps the most dangerous.

On one hand, the probability of a bay crocodile lurking here was not small.

On the other hand, it’s far from the other three people; if a crisis arises, it would take a long time to get assistance.

Considered comprehensively, Chen Wen felt only he could search here.

Riding the bay crocodile to the west bank.

Chen Wen let the bay crocodile come ashore and met with the Screaming Kite, Taipan Snake, and the Wild Horse.

The wild horse remained cautious of the bay crocodile and stayed at a relatively far distance.

After soothing the wild horse for a bit, Chen Wen brought the topic back to the main mission.

”Barring surprises, this will be our last adventure before going home!”

Chen Wen’s eyes sparkled with joy and anticipation.

The animals beside him were also very excited, even the newly arrived bay crocodile was quite thrilled.

After all, it was eagerly looking forward to the delicious food, drink, and safe living conditions described by Chen Wen.

”But!”

Chen Wen’s tone took a turn: ”This time the adventure comes with a high level of danger! There’s a sibling of the bay crocodile lurking in the nearby waters, and we could encounter it at any time. The bay crocodile might be fine, not afraid of its kin, but it’s different for us; one wrong move and we could be killed by its kin!”

Hearing this, the animals became a bit anxious, including the bay crocodile.

This guy’s pretty timid.

Chen Wen couldn’t help but comment.

”But on another note.”

Chen Wen’s tone shifted again, he said with a chuckle: ”I’m not asking you to take risks and stay behind me this time. The operation is mainly up to me, you just need to focus on reconnaissance.”

Hearing this, the animals felt a warmth in their hearts.

Since knowing Chen Wen, whenever danger came, he would always stand in front of them without hesitation.

He never let them take risks.

Regardless of what the animals say, they were very moved.

Chen Wen didn’t let them wax poetic, decisively assigned tasks: ”Screaming Kite, same as before, you scout from high up. Taipan Snake, you don’t need to act this time, just wait with the horse for news.”

”Dahuang, you stick with me, but you need to keep observing from the shore and notify me directly if there’s something.”

”Bay crocodile, you and I will work together: I’ll ride you while you use your excellent perception ability to locate the bay crocodile, and I’ll search from your back. If there’s any news, notify me immediately, understood?”

The animals all nodded, indicating they understood.

With Chen Wen leading them, the animals were no longer nervous.

In a harmonious atmosphere, the search began.

...

Seeing Chen Wen start the search, Tata didn’t delay either.

He picked up the fish spear and cautiously stepped into the swamp.

On Chen Wen’s side.

Riding the bay crocodile, he didn’t actively seek out places.

Instead, he allowed the bay crocodile to act freely and find places where it wished to rest after a meal.

With this method, in just over ten minutes, the bay crocodile successfully found a relative of its kind.

It was just a very small bay crocodile.

According to the bay crocodile, this small crocodile was quite appealing to its aesthetics, but a bit too small.

Chen Wen immediately remarked that in human society, this small bay crocodile might be very popular.

The bay crocodile was puzzled.

Chen Wen laughed and explained human society’s ’Lolicon’ to the bay crocodile.

The bay crocodile was instantly shocked: ”You humans really play extravagantly!”

After joking with the bay crocodile for a bit, Chen Wen let it continue to find suitable places.

But these places were either occupied by other bay crocodiles or belonged to freshwater crocodiles.

After looking for an hour and a half, Chen Wen still hadn’t found any large bay crocodile.

During this time, the largest bay crocodile Chen Wen encountered was barely over three meters long.

It seemed quite interested in the bay crocodile Chen Wen was riding and followed the pair for a while.

Eventually, the bay crocodile’s roar and counter-bite scared it away.

According to the bay crocodile, this one didn’t align with its aesthetic preferences, likening it to an ’old woman’ type.

Chen Wen commented that the bay crocodile seemed to be an afficionado, favoring youth.

The two chatted, and their relationship grew closer.

However, they still had no success.

In the sky, the Screaming Kite flew for a long time but found nothing either.

Dahuang on land found even less.

Additionally, Chen Wen worried about the complex environment causing Dahuang to lose its sense of crisis judgment.

An hour ago, Chen Wen sent Dahuang to join Taipan Snake and the wild horse for rest.

”Well, if there’s nothing to be found, let’s go regroup with them.”

Chen Wen said, letting it go.

Finding something to this extent, he felt it justified Wuge’s stew of bay crocodile.

Riding the bay crocodile, Chen Wen quickly found Darren, who was searching on the east bank.

Darren was an Australian native; he didn’t speak English.

But upon seeing Chen Wen riding a bay crocodile, Darren immediately showed admiration and curiosity.

He gestured: You came here, have you found anything?

Chen Wen shook his head, indicating no, then used hand signals to ask Darren.

Darren also shook his head.

Both looked a bit helpless.

At this time, Wuge, responsible for the northern swamp, returned.

Seeing the two gathered, he approached swiftly.

Then he mumbled some questions to Darren, who responded.

Seeing Wuge’s defeated look, he hadn’t found anything either.

Now, only Tata had yet to return.
