Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Chen Wen decisively activated the communication ability of the saltwater crocodile.

He scolded in Chinese, ”Hey! Scared yet?”

The saltwater crocodile opened its mouth wide, staring blankly at Chen Wen with a rather unintelligent look.

Seeing the crocodile like this, Chen Wen clicked his tongue, carefully examining the creature.

It always felt like this guy didn’t look very bright.

Chen Wen thought for a moment and tapped the ground in front of the crocodile with his long spear to help the dumbfounded crocodile come back to its senses.

To be honest, this crocodile was indeed a bit different.

After snapping back to reality, it instinctively backed away a few steps, looking like it wanted to escape.

But before Chen Wen could make a move, the crocodile suddenly dropped down, looking timid.

”Hey, do you want to run or not?”

Seeing the crocodile’s behavior, Chen Wen chuckled.

He signaled Tata to step back a bit and faced the crocodile alone.

After a moment of silence, the crocodile slowly lifted its head, ”Uh, not running, not running, as long as you don’t poke me with that sharp thing, I won’t run.”

Saying this, the crocodile quite obediently gave up resisting, lying on the ground motionless.

Listening to the crocodile’s voice, Chen Wen was amused, as it had the voice of an uncle.

But such a cowardly uncle...

Chen Wen wasn’t interested in bullying animals, so he put away the long spear and asked, ”Why did you attack me?”

The crocodile paused, its blue-glowing eyes glancing at the distant wild horse, ”I didn’t want to attack you, I originally wanted to eat it, but you blocked me, and you also blocked my way back.”

Following the crocodile’s gaze, Chen Wen saw the nervous wild horse.

He shook his head with a bit of helplessness.

To beasts, food is everything.

If the crocodile followed its instincts to hunt the wild horse, it couldn’t really be blamed.

Moreover, Chen Wen had heard from Tata before not to stand between the crocodile and the river.

Otherwise, the crocodile would attack without warning.

After a moment of silence, Chen Wen continued to ask, ”Have you ever eaten people? You know, creatures that look like me and walk on two legs?”

Hearing this, the crocodile quickly shook its head, ”I’ve never even seen your kind, until today.”

Wow, it even used an inverted sentence.

Chen Wen looked at the crocodile, which wasn’t lying.

At this point, Chen Wen continued to ask, ”Was it you spying on us at noon?”

The crocodile nodded honestly, ”It was me, but I wasn’t looking at you, I was looking at that four-legged creature.”

Saying this, the crocodile glanced at the wild horse again.

It was truly hungry!

The crocodile said somewhat pitifully, ”I’ve been hungry for a long time here, there’s not much to eat, I can only catch those not very tasty fish from the water, so when I saw that four-legged creature, I wanted to have a proper meal...”

Listening to the crocodile, Chen Wen felt exasperated.

Wow, so even the king of the water is going hungry?

He sighed, looking at the crocodile, ”Fine, fine, I won’t make things difficult for you, just tell me, has any of your kind passed through your territory in recent days? It’s about the same size as you, maybe even slightly larger.”

Upon hearing this, the crocodile was silent for a while.

But Chen Wen continued, ”If you tell me, I’ll let your attack on me... and the wild horse incident slide, and if you help me find that guy, I can even offer you a worry-free life with plenty of food and a comfortable living environment.”

Hearing this, the crocodile’s eyes suddenly lit up.

Its sparkling eyes were as bright as torches.

Even Tata, standing nearby, nervously watched the crocodile and softly asked Chen Wen, ”What are you saying? Is it a spell? Why is this crocodile getting so excited?”

Chen Wen raised his hand to calm Tata down.

He calmly said, ”I’m trying to tame this crocodile.”

Tata realized, ”Oh, taming a crocodile... Wait! What did you say?!”

Ignoring the shocked Tata, Chen Wen continued to look at the crocodile and asked, ”So, have you thought about it?”

The crocodile looked at Chen Wen with glowing eyes, ”Are you serious?”

”I’m not lying to you.”

Chen Wen said calmly.

Honestly, if possible, he planned to take this crocodile with him.

Chen Wen was quite fond of the crocodile’s transformation.

This creature could survive in saltwater, fresh water, and even swamps and land.

Once he obtained the ability to transform into it...

The survival afterward would be assured, unless the drone broke down, and then Chen Wen wouldn’t know how to lose.

So if he could confirm that this crocodile hadn’t eaten people, Chen Wen was willing to accept it.

The crocodile also realized that it had encountered an excellent opportunity.

It decisively said, ”Okay! I’ll take you to find it! I know that guy! A few days ago, it swaggered past my place, and I even fought it!”

It continued, switching its tone, ”But that guy was well-fed, and although I didn’t beat it, I managed to drive it downstream. If you want to find it, just follow me, and I’ll take you downstream to find it, oh, and after you find it, make sure to kill it. Don’t let it know I brought you!”

Hearing this, Chen Wen’s lips curled into a smile.

Looks like this crocodile is concerned about saving face.

Judging by its tone, it seemed it didn’t win against the man-eating crocodile and was pushed to a certain extent.

If it weren’t for the other crocodile needing to digest, it wouldn’t even have been able to hold its territory.

Chen Wen thought for a moment and agreed to the crocodile’s offer.

At the same time, Chen Wen said, ”Don’t be afraid, I’ll help you treat your wound now.”

Hearing this, the crocodile was stunned.

Treat the wound?

It immediately lay down happily, unmoving.

And Chen Wen took this opportunity to go behind the crocodile and gently pat its body.

Both to show Tata his success in taming the crocodile and to use the [Animal Doctor] to heal it.

This would prevent its wounds from worsening and threatening its life.

Simultaneously, he took the chance to increase the crocodile’s favorability and gain an entry.

Killing several birds with one stone.

As Chen Wen patted the crocodile, it could distinctly feel changes in its wound.

It wasn’t that it suddenly healed completely.

Rather, it was a kind of psychological suggestion, as if the wound was telling the crocodile it was getting better.

The crocodile was overjoyed, feeling increasingly grateful to Chen Wen.

At this time, Chen Wen also checked the blessings from the [Animal Doctor], examining the entries provided by the crocodile.

The first two entries were quite ordinary, but when Chen Wen’s gaze turned to the third entry, his eyes lit up.

[Digestive System Enhancement Promax (Gold): Significantly strengthens your digestive system]

According to the principle that fewer words indicate greater power,

Chen Wen felt this entry’s effect was likely to be incredibly powerful!

Moreover, the crocodile itself had the most potent stomach acid among vertebrates.

Their digestive function was extremely formidable, capable of digesting any food, including bones.

This might not be obvious when said, but if described with data,

the gastric acid pH value of most humans is between 1.5 and 3 when digesting food.

In comparison, scavenging animals such as vultures have a gastric acid pH value hovering around 1.

According to certain measurements, the stomach acid of saltwater crocodiles ranges between 0 and 0.5.

This is an incredibly frightening number!
