Wilderness Survival with Druid System

The freshwater crocodiles in Australia are just that weak.

These small crocodiles, which can almost be described as harmless, pose no threat to Chen Wen.

On the contrary, if Chen Wen wanted to,

holding a long spear, he could even wreak havoc on the freshwater crocodiles in this area.

But Chen Wen wouldn’t do that.

He held the long spear, went to the riverbank, and took a careful look.

The fish in this body of water were still mainly freshwater fish, and most were carp.

”To be fair, while some names may be wrong, the nickname ’water rabbit’ is so fitting for carp. This creature’s breeding ability is even stronger than that of wild rabbits!”

Seeing the carp swimming in the water from time to time, Chen Wen thought so.

However, the number of carp here was still a bit lacking compared to the previously seen schools of carp.

This was thanks to the Australian freshwater crocodiles.

To them, carp are simply the best food, each bite yielding a mouthful with little bones.

And they’re relatively easy to catch.

Therefore, Chen Wen judged that the number of freshwater crocodiles here should not be low.

So, could he try to tame and take away a freshwater crocodile?

With this thought, Chen Wen immediately began to try.

He had the animals watch the surroundings, while he decisively transformed into a Horned Bee-eater, starting reconnaissance.

As Chen Wen judged, this area was rich in food and had no threats.

The Australian freshwater crocodiles reproduced and lived here, quite happily.

In the form of a Horned Bee-eater, Chen Wen circled around, but did not find any special freshwater crocodiles.

This left him a bit helpless.

Speaking of which, Australian Kimberley is considered a paradise for wildlife, even called the last wilderness on Earth.

But there really aren’t many special animals here!

Chen Wen returned near the animals, somewhat disappointed.

He tried to transform back into human form, brought fresh fish speared in the past few days, and attempted to approach the Australian freshwater crocodiles.

But the vigilance of the Australian freshwater crocodiles was stronger than that of wild horses.

Several times, as soon as Chen Wen approached, the surrounding Australian freshwater crocodiles would instantly flee into the water.

”Damn it!”

The consecutive failures turned Chen Wen’s face green.

This thing!

Refuses to take the easy way out, huh!

Unable to find special animals, and taming was impossible.

Thus, for the sake of the entry, only one option was left—hunting!

...

When food is abundant, Chen Wen would not hunt just for the entry.

However, Chen Wen’s current food supply wasn’t exactly abundant.

Or rather, besides carp, all Chen Wen had now were canned goods.

Therefore, hunting freshwater crocodiles now didn’t go against Chen Wen’s principles.

Taking out the long spear, a hint of ferocity flashed in Chen Wen’s eyes.

The skin armor of Australian freshwater crocodiles isn’t thick, and the long spear could easily penetrate.

Moreover, these freshwater crocodiles, when undisturbed, quietly stayed in puddles or mud pits near the big river.

Almost like live targets.

So, as long as one could locate the freshwater crocodile, and throw the long spear in front of their vigilant position,

these freshwater crocodiles stood no chance of escaping.

After settling the animals, Chen Wen walked towards the river with the long spear.

This seasonal big river was quite wide, and because of the low riverbanks on both sides, flooding filled the banks with various mud and water pits.

These mud and water pits were the favorite dwellings of freshwater crocodiles.

Chen Wen walked about fifty meters and saw a freshwater crocodile lying in a mud pit.

It hadn’t noticed Chen Wen and was still leisurely basking in the sun.

Chen Wen slowly crouched down, lowered his center of gravity, and then raised the long spear.

The distance between him and the Australian freshwater crocodile was less than twenty meters, a distance that could be considered a guaranteed hit for Chen Wen.

Raising the long spear, gathering strength, [Giant Strength], [Thorn].

The familiar combo was quickly executed, and the long spear shot out accurately, hitting the dazed freshwater crocodile in the pit.

The freshwater crocodile seemed to sense the crisis. Just as it turned its head towards Chen Wen, the long spear accurately pierced through the crocodile’s body, pinning it to the ground.

The freshwater crocodile struggled violently, its slender legs moving constantly, trying to escape.

However, the effect of the long spear imbued with [Giant Strength] was too terrifying, pinning it deep in the mud pit.

”Wow, it has pretty keen perception.”

Chen Wen muttered, approaching the freshwater crocodile.

This freshwater crocodile hadn’t completely died, so Chen Wen took out a knife, stabbed it behind the head, and decisively ended its pain.

After easily taking down the freshwater crocodile, Chen Wen carried it to the riverbank.

There, he skillfully processed the freshwater crocodile.

But just as Chen Wen was dealing with the crocodile, the Screaming Kite anxiously flew over.

Upon seeing Chen Wen, the Screaming Kite immediately let out a sharp cry and flew towards him.

Handling the crocodile, Chen Wen looked up and saw the Screaming Kite.

Seeing the Screaming Kite’s manner, Chen Wen felt a thud in his heart: could it be that there was a discovery?

And, as Chen Wen suspected,

before he could speak, the Screaming Kite excitedly shared its discovery: ”Humans! I saw the buildings you mentioned!”

Upon hearing this, Chen Wen’s expression immediately turned to joy: ”What? Where? How far?”

Seeing Chen Wen almost at a loss for words, the Screaming Kite was equally excited.

It quickly described the human buildings it saw: ”If you head northwest from here, after walking... about three or four days’ distance, you’ll be near those buildings!”

Hearing this, Chen Wen couldn’t help but laugh heartily.

He quickly cleaned up the crocodile and then dashed towards the animals with the freshwater crocodile.

After announcing this news, the animals were also delighted.

However, at this moment, Chen Wen was somewhat nostalgic for Hua Yun and the others. If they were here, they would definitely be jumping with excitement.

But with the food Chen Wen had reserved for them, along with the staple grains exchanged,

it was only a matter of time before Hua Yun and the others would get here.

”Our next target is clear!”

Chen Wen said, drawing a simple map on the ground: ”Starting today, we’ll change direction. In the afternoon, we’ll cross the river via the shallow bank over there, head to the riverbank on the other side, and then follow the woods and plains to this small town in search of rescue!”

The animals all nodded.

Crossing the river with wild horses around, Chen Wen wasn’t worried about them being attacked.

And since they’re taking the shallow bank, he could quickly detect any danger.

As for crossing three days of woods and plains, it was hardly worth mentioning.

Rescue was right in front of them!

Chen Wen couldn’t help but think.

At noon, Chen Wen roasted the whole freshwater crocodile over the fire, then ate the crocodile meat, acquiring the freshwater crocodile’s entry.

However, the entry was quite ordinary, a short-distance sprint enhancement entry.

[Short Sprint (Blue): Enhances short-distance sprinting abilities]

Chen Wen wasn’t lacking in this type of enhancement entry, but you couldn’t say they were completely useless.

In certain situations, they always managed to be quite effective.

After choosing the entry, Chen Wen and the animals rested during the hottest part of the day.

Once the heat passed, they would head towards the human buildings, welcoming the final victory!

...

In Hua Yun’s group.

With the groundwork Chen Wen laid earlier, they were also moving steadily towards victory.

At this moment, like Chen Wen imagined, they were moving downstream, following the direction of the water flow to seek rescue.

Their speed was indeed quite fast.

But just when they arrived at the water’s edge and planned to rest, eagle-eyed Adam spotted something remarkable.
