Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Recalling information about the blue bear.

Chen Wen took a deep breath and glanced at the sky around him.

While searching through the bones, Chen Wen also noticed that these bones were picked clean.

Thus, Chen Wen realized that there might be vultures or crows circling in the sky here.

In Qiangtang, crows are also quite dominant.

Chen Wen came here this time with the idea of hunting crows and vultures.

Their entries are definitely not ordinary!

But that’s a story for later.

After gathering the supplies, Chen Wen, wearing a sheepskin blindfold, started to descend the mountain.

He aimed to get below the snow line, in the meadow area below, before sunset to spend the night.

...

Walking until noon.

As Chen Wen’s altitude continued to decrease, the snow underfoot became increasingly loose and wet.

This indicated that the snow line was near.

Along the way, Chen Wen endured great hardships.

Low temperatures, limited visibility, slight altitude sickness...

These tormented Chen Wen continuously and consumed a lot of his energy.

However, this time, Chen Wen didn’t bring the entry [Big Stomach, No Need to Say More].

This entry posed certain limitations to Chen Wen during the Desert Extreme Challenge in Australia.

He had to endeavor to acquire as much food as possible to stave off hunger.

After survival, Chen Wen ended up losing several pounds from hunger.

This time, Chen Wen was smart and did not carry any entry with negative effects.

Even during a lunchtime break without food, Chen Wen did not feel hungry.

He had cultivated a special ability essential for a top-tier survivor—start by enduring hunger, nine meals over three days.

Yet, during the rest, Chen Wen drank some water and checked the portable rations.

One serving of portable rations is enough for a day.

Each serving weighs 2 kilograms and contains a sizable amount of solid food.

Chen Wen didn’t open the ration as he was afraid he couldn’t resist.

After all, processed military rations are far superior in terms of calories and taste compared to game.

Chen Wen planned to save them for the mid to late stages of survival, complemented with game.

Swallowing a bit, he drank more water.

Chen Wen wiped his mouth and stood up.

Let’s keep going!

Slipping under the snow line is the start of this survival.

Three hours later.

As the sky gradually darkened, Chen Wen finally reached below the snow line with the last rays of the setting sun.

As it was late, Chen Wen had neither the time nor the energy for much else.

He merely found a rock crevice before it got completely dark, checked to make sure it was safe, then squeezed in with his long spear and spent the first night.

...

Monitoring base.

After organizing the first day’s log, Qu Yong had a hint of concern in his eyes.

He met up with Liu Yu and handed the log to him.

Liu Yu read it over and commented, ”Nothing remarkable with any performers on the first day, nor any unlucky ones; it’s quite average. Plus, the first day doesn’t reveal much anyway, stop worrying over nothing, get some rest; this time, it’s a hundred-day stint.”

Hearing this, Qu Yong, with anxious eyes, said, ”That may be true for others, but with Chen Wen, I’m feeling a bit uneasy; it’s the first time he’s landed without having anything to eat, just drinking some water and walking all the way, still at several thousand meters up a mountain.”

”I’m worried the kid might not hold up; after all, it’s his first-time facing setbacks right at the start.”

Upon hearing this, Liu Yu waved his hand again: ”Stop fretting! Did he not bring rations? If he hasn’t eaten, it means Chen Wen knows what he’s doing; he isn’t worried about stamina issues, so why are you?”

”Besides, even though he hasn’t faced such a harsh start before, in his survival journey, he’s handled harsh conditions that even we might not manage as well, such as the sandstorm during the Desert Extreme Challenge. Could you have handled that any better?”

Qu Yong shook his head, indeed realizing it was more about his anxiousness.

He said, ”Alright, I understand.”

But just as Qu Yong was about to leave, Liu Yu seemed to remember something and said again, ”Besides, who said Chen Wen’s never faced a harsh start? Remember the shipwreck and being stranded on an island; wasn’t that harsh? Someone who crawled out of such conditions doesn’t have as weak endurance as you think!”

Qu Yong mused quietly, saying no more.

...

Chen Wen’s side.

After nightfall, the temperature on the Qiangtang Plateau plummeted.

This is due to the thin air and dry atmosphere of the plateau region, which causes rapid warming during the day from strong solar radiation and a rapid temperature drop at night due to ground heat loss without cloud cover.

Chen Wen could clearly feel it at this moment.

During the day, the temperature felt quite high, probably several degrees above zero.

But at night, even after squeezing into a rock crevice without fire, the perceived temperature was likely ten below zero.

However, this temperature was nothing to Chen Wen.

With the [Cold Resistance] entry activated, Chen Wen cheerfully slept soundly.

He even hummed a little tune before sleeping.

In high spirits.

...

The next day.

Chen Wen is awakened by the whistling wind outside the rock crevice.

Upon opening his eyes, the sky outside appeared different, looking gray.

Moreover, the wind was strong and there seemed to be snowflakes in the sky.

Once Chen Wen crawled out of the crevice, he noticed the change in the weather.

Indeed, the weather had changed.

Chen Wen sighed: ”I thought I’d enjoy some sunshine after reaching the meadow area today, but it’s windy and snowy, frustrating!”

He organized his supplies and planned to continue down the mountain.

At this moment.

A Golden Eagle suddenly flew back from somewhere.

Watching the sudden appearance of the Golden Eagle, Chen Wen considered perhaps restricting its activities a bit, at least having it notify him before leaving each time.

While pondering this, the Golden Eagle hovered around Chen Wen, offering him a surprising piece of intelligence: ”Human! I found prey! A bighorn sheep!”

Upon hearing this news, Chen Wen’s eyes lit up, unconsciously swirling his long spear with his right hand.

Of course, the Golden Eagle certainly didn’t see a bighorn sheep.

In this Qiangtang area, there are no bighorn sheep, but there are plenty of sheep resembling them.

For instance, argali sheep.

Argali sheep are known as bighorns and resemble them closely.

Chen Wen looked up and turned off the recording device.

He began to communicate with the Golden Eagle: ”Is it far? How many are there?”

”Not far!”

The Golden Eagle circled once above Chen Wen before saying, ”There aren’t many, about four or five, but I noticed there seem to be lambs amongst them.”

Upon hearing this, Chen Wen’s eyes gleamed even brighter.

Goodness, it must be a group of argali sheep!

And with lambs, it indicates a healthy herd, ready for hunting!
