Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Seeing this scene, Chen Wen and the others realized that the Indians and the British had probably formed an alliance.

Nuo Bu discreetly glanced at Chen Wen and Jon.

In his view, both parties were forces that could be allied with.

That’s right, two forces.

Even though Chen Wen’s ”force” is just himself, no one dares to underestimate him.

This is a hexagonal warrior who is strong in every aspect!

His long spear throws are explosively powerful and extraordinarily accurate.

His melee combat skills allow him to grapple with many strength-type fighters.

In terms of survival ability, Chen Wen, who is a champion of solitary wilderness survival, is undoubtedly the most formidable among current survivors.

Most importantly, he also has beast taming skills.

Whether it’s ferocious crocodiles or cunning wolves and dogs, they obediently follow Chen Wen’s commands.

Therefore, facing someone like Chen Wen, even if he is alone, no one dares to look down on him.

”Alright, since you all know each other now.”

After all the polite exchanges were over, Qu Yong calmly said, ”Let’s proceed with the drawing of lots.”

”You all probably know the rules better than I do, so I won’t say much. I will just mention briefly that the draw is completely fair, and whether you get a good draw or a bad one is down to your luck.”

”According to the rules, everyone draws a lot, and each starting point is randomly chosen on the outskirts of Qiangtang, spaced a minimum of five kilometers apart. Who’s first?”

As soon as Qu Yong finished speaking, Vikram, who was closest to him, stood up.

He drew lots for himself and his four members.

But the result of the draw wasn’t very good.

The five were spaced far apart; four on the west side of Qiangtang, and one on the extreme east side.

The person who drew the east side’s spot looked upset.

But Vikram reprimanded him softly, which restored his composure.

”Not bad luck, who’s next?”

Vikram said as he returned to his seat.

Upon hearing this, Bao Wen decisively stood up.

The British team had good luck.

Two of their survival points were next to each other on the flat plateau north of Qiangtang.

The remaining three were also lucky, clustered in the northeast direction.

”Looks like we’re probably the luckiest group.”

Bao Wen laughed deeply, his laughter very sinister.

Chen Wen couldn’t help but think: If this guy joined a banquet or party and laughed like that while everyone’s enjoying themselves, wouldn’t it kill the mood directly?

After the second British team finished drawing lots.

Jon and the Australians began their drawing.

They also had decent luck, spread out on the south side of Qiangtang.

Next were the five from Nepal.

Their luck wasn’t great, but not bad either.

They were scattered on the west side of Qiangtang, mixed with the Indians.

This group didn’t have a good relationship with the Indians, so there could be early conflict!

Nevertheless, Nuo Bu seemed reasonably pleased.

Then it was Chen Wen’s turn.

Chen Wen casually reached into the drawing box.

He drew out a lot similar to the previous ones and slowly unfolded it.

Looking at the number, Chen Wen revealed it: ”Number seventeen, good or bad?”

When they heard this number, not just Qu Yong, but even the other teams had a change in expression.

Yet their expressions were uniform, mixed with surprise and puzzlement.

Qu Yong was silent for a moment before asking, ”You haven’t seen the draw-related information?”

Upon hearing this, Chen Wen honestly shook his head: ”No, I felt it was pointless to look. There are over a hundred locations, too many to remember. It’s better to look after drawing, so I haven’t looked in detail.”

Hearing this, Qu Yong fell silent again.

He sighed and said, ”The number seventeen lot is somewhat famous, but for bad reasons.”

”The location of this lot is southwest of Qiangtang, on a high mountain.”

A high mountain?

Chen Wen’s expression changed: ”How high?”

”Not particularly high.”

Sherpa Nuo Bu smiled, ”About over five thousand meters. The seventeen lot spot is on the southern slope, which is not very steep, actually one of the easier mountains.”

Chen Wen’s expression eased slightly.

If it’s not exorbitantly high, around the six to seven thousand meter level, that’s manageable.

”Nevertheless, this place is challenging. In previous challenges, three participants have drawn this lot, yet none completed the challenge, and one even died. Hence, the lot is infamously notorious.”

Qu Yong explained the history and lore of the number seventeen lot.

Chen Wen confidently said, ”Then it’s up to me to break the streak! This time I will succeed!”

Hearing this, the surrounding contestants had serious expressions, with no one mocking Chen Wen.

Because with Chen Wen’s strength paired with this statement, no one would think he was bragging.

The lot-drawing process came to a close.

After repeating the rules again, Qu Yong allowed the players to leave and prepare their items.

Chen Wen intended to leave as well but was stopped by Qu Yong.

...

Once the others left.

The expression on Qu Yong’s face changed: ”Chen Wen, you need to be extremely careful this time!”

Chen Wen was surprised.

Without waiting for him to speak further, Qu Yong explained, ”This mountain wasn’t difficult to climb a month ago, nor will it be a month later, but presently, the climb is particularly challenging!”

Chen Wen frowned, pondering for a moment before saying, ”Could it be... because the snow on the high mountain is starting to melt?”

Hearing this, Qu Yong looked at Chen Wen with surprise: ”You actually know this?”

”Of course, I’ve studied Qiangtang’s climate before.”

Chen Wen replied calmly, ”Generally, signs of thawing in the lakes here appear in March, April and May are the melting period, and by June they completely thaw, so I deduced that the mountain snow also melts during this time, and the snow line rises.”

Qu Yong nodded: ”Precisely, the melting snow makes it feel colder and becomes soft, making it easy to misstep. The southern slope receives sunlight, making the snow particularly soft.”

”Looks like it’s another hellish start!”

Chen Wen sighed, feeling a bit perplexed internally.

Before coming, I deliberately boosted my luck, yet it suddenly faltered?

He shook his head, somewhat helpless.

Logically, the system’s products are always first-rate.

Could it be that what seems like the worst draw, actually harbors significant luck for me?

Sigh, not expecting major luck.

As long as it’s not fatally unlucky, that’s good enough.

Chen Wen didn’t discuss further with Qu Yong.

He needed to go adjust the equipment he planned to carry.

There wasn’t room to choose the five fixed items.

Among the three self-carried pieces, Chen Wen definitely planned to bring a long spear and the golden eagle.

That consumed two item slots.

Initially, Chen Wen considered a multifunctional entrenching shovel or a large pot to enrich his item reserve.

But now, he had to find other solutions.
